My son uses zoom 5 days a week for virtual homeschooling and my youngest uses it once a week, 1 uses a logi tech camera and a floor- to - desk tripod ring light, and the other uses a nexigo camera with a desk ring light 😊
We use Zoom for 7 movement classes a week for our members and I hate the weak 720p resolution on ZOOM and have been looking for an upgrade. I purchased a dope webcam however it doesn't hold the light when I'm 5' away and laying on the ground when I'm teaching classes. I was hoping that it would be the ultimate fix and I was highly disappointed. So, after each class I upload to the on-demand library and the resolution stinks for my members and I need a better solution bad... I think the smartphone could be a good option and I've been looking for camera's however that is an overwhelming subject considering I need a camera that can record up to 75 min w/o stopping.
so I run our user tech team at my company, and I experimented with this early on in the pandemic. A couple more thoughts: 1) Zoom, Webex, etc compress your video in an online meeting. In our testing we didn't see a difference on the far end whether I was using my external webcam, GoPro, phone, or mirrorless camera. 2) Good lighting is FAR more important to the quality. Again, video is processed and compressed and the software will try to correct lighting automatically. We've found that good lighting SIGNIFICANTLY increases far end video quality. 3) The webcams built into your laptop will not be good but an external webcam was what we found produced the most consistent best quality far end video. Logitech C920 is the best bang for your buck. These are purpose built and the software (Zoom, etc) knows how to work with them. You'll find the lighting correction with these works FAR better than if you were using a GoPro, cellphone, or camera. 4) good Audio is always more important to an effective meeting :) Great video though, thanks!
I average 8-10 zoom calls a week now for my job so this was super useful information I’ve never even really thought of! Professional aesthetics do make a huge difference on how you’re perceived
Thank you soooo much Think Media. I have been struggling with my poor pc web camera. Now i can use my phone camera which is best than my PC's web camera while my online classes. Thank you sooo much Think Media🙏🏼👍🏻
Zoom is so vital in writing from home. I dint think there are many companies that aren't using it. What I love is that Think media seems to always come through when I'm looking for specific content. Thank you Think Media!
🤩 As a university instructor, course creator, and Skillshare advocate I've seen 2020's Zoom/Webex evolution first-hand. Your tips here are must haves going into 2021 for certain!
I use Zoom 5 days a week. I had to learn fast when my departement went remote March of last year. Thankfully, I upgraded my webcam up to a Canon M50. Wow! What a difference! Good Video, lots of information. Thanks!
Very informative review, I use DSLR camera and Powerpoint with talking points as my teleprompter software to help me sound natural and keep eye contact with the viewer because I don't read word for word, No special software needed except PPT Mirror tool to mirror-flip my slides👌
I have never found a video to solve my problem. I don’t use a laptop, but instead a 27 inch iMac with a Logitech C920 on top. The problem is that it sits very high and doesn’t have the eye contact that I would like. If I put a desktop tripod between me and the screen, then it blocks me from reading the screen. I would like a permanent solution that can stay in place all the time.
I use zoom weekly for acting classes as well as audition; and my macbook is older, so being able to use my iPhone or my Nikon DSLR (hoping this works) sounds interesting. I actually have a recording to do this weekend, so I’ll try that for sure as I know the images coming out of my macbook video feed isn’t that great. Perfect timing.
Since I don't have a camera with clean HDMI out and since Canon was nice enough to do the Webcam utility I'm all about that, but I did buy the cheap generic HDMI capture card and it's great. One thing might be useful is if you have some HDMI source (like a DVD player or another computer) you can use the capture card to bring that signal in. If you don't mind getting complicated and use OBS to feed your livestream or Zoom then you might have the following OBS inputs: webcam, computer desktop, external HDMI source (audio+video), microphone. If you need to give a presentation at your work Zoom meeting this might be a good way to go (but practice with it first!).
Better quality Not software based - so more dependable *Not all cameras and do option 2 *and not all camera have a “clean hdmi” - so they can do option 3
I’m not sure if I’m missing the link, but I have a Sony A6400 and you mentioned in the video about downloading the drivers. Where do I go to download that? Thank you!

Hey nice video, thanks for sharing! What about the battery life of the camera when using a Canon camera? Does USB or HDMI provide power for the camera? Is there a way to plug the camera to power energy? Thanks!
What about the eye-line? Zoom adjusts, so it appears I'm making eye contact with whomever I'm interviewing. When I use phone or DSLR as you recommend, there's no adjustment and so no eye contact when I'm looking at the person. Please help.
QUESTION: Iriun web driver for Mac is not available thru the Mac App store. It is only available thru their website?? Have you checked out IRIUN for privacy/security access on your Mac?? is it safe?
Why isn't the App driver on the Mac App Store? I cannot find any contact info on iriun website? email? phone number? twitter? facebook? I will try the Epoccam as it is from elgato.
I use Zoom for meetings and use Iriun app with my Galaxy note5 as webcam. Initially there were problems but with subsequent updates, it is much better with no problems. I would prefer to use my Canon camera but my model is not supported.
I am using webex but with the latest update they have blocked or broken the third party app connection. Limited to video capture card option. It gets worse if you use Citrix and then WebEx.
Thank you so much I just bought a 4K and it has no adjustment options and the video quality is poor 😢 I'm very upset I need it for zoom my face looks all of noice
@@ThinkMediaTV @Think Media For some reason it kept freezing the image during my zoom meetings. It might have been a faulty unit but I've seen plenty of other videos speaking to the unreliability and bad build quality of these cards.I guess if you look at the big picture it's not a big risk. I'm glad they are working out for your team 👍🏻

adding a good lens to the mirrorless with a wide aperture (2.8 or wider) will help it look a lot better and is definitely noticeably better.

Me ligit watching this while in my teacher's zoom
Thank you so much for the info. It is very important to look professional ...Didn't think using a smartphone is an option...
Very good material, time-saving, perfectly prepared.
Great video!
I use zoom every day at work. This was really helpful I just ordered that capture card to level up these calls.
Haven’t had to do zoom yet for work. But if I do..thanks for the tips!
Very nice very clear i want to do it so thanks for sharing

Great video!! The audio quality is amazing 😍😍 what setup did you use in this video?
Tip with the phone is very easy, but if you just need to put the camera to eye level, it also possible to put the laptop on the stand or something.
Another Great Video by the KINGS of UA-cam
🙏🙏🙏
Amazing, thanks for the prideful science and knowledge to us. thanks a lot.

Video quality is super important Indeed, especially since people now even have tvs setup to watch UA-cam. Great tips and device suggestions.
I use Zoom for school and work, so I’m on it 5-6 hours a day most days. On especially crazy days, I’m on Zoom for 9-10 hours. Great tips- thanks!
You should relax in nature to balance that out
The HD option is game changer

Thanks guys for this great info. I start college today and my classes are using Zoom.
The advantage of using the HDMI option is that you get sound too.
The USB option let you stranded with having to deal with sound routing also.
Just made a video about canon webcam utility and iriun app in german :) love your style and the videos - thanks again!

Nice I was looking for a camera but I have a iPhone 11 so it will be perfect! Thanks!!
can you use the zoom background while using the app?
does your camera charge when plugged into USB C using canon eos webcam utility? Thanks
Great video. Thanks!

What’s the difference between option 2 and 3? Is the last option better quality?? Someone please explain to me.
Better quality
Not software based - so more dependable
*Not all cameras and do option 2
*and not all camera have a “clean hdmi” - so they can do option 3
How do you compensate for a lag? My video is lagging behind sound.
Nikon DSLR with utility app paired with audio technica AT2020USB+

I am sure this has been asked - the epoccam is only on the Apple store yet you mentioned it is both android and apple curious if this is a glitch?
You will get rid of hackers you will be on my community YOUR THE CHOSEN ONE!
CAPTURE CARD! RIGHT ON! THANKS.
I hate zoom lol! Bring back in person events!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Hope it happens soon!

Can you make a tutorial for Teams as well? I tried the EpocCam and Iriun app on my iMac, but they only work on Zoom😢
Is that a fog machine operating in the background?
But can u still put virtual background?

the Iruin link for pc please?
I use zoom almost daily and deal with a lot of glasses glare from my dual screen setup, any suggestions?
I use Zoom for meetings and use Iriun app with my Galaxy note5 as webcam. Initially there were problems but with subsequent updates, it is much better with no problems. I would prefer to use my Canon camera but my model is not supported.
How do I get my Canon M50, while being used as a webcam, to not turn off after 30 minutes? The camera is also using a power cable.
Am I missing something? Zoom won't stream better than 1280 res on calls so aside from lighting why upgrade your camera. ?
Our church uses Zoom about ten times each week! This is up from zero prior to the pandemic.
How do you add good audio with this setup?
Thank you ❤️
Nc bro

Thank you so much I just bought a 4K and it has no adjustment options and the video quality is poor 😢 I'm very upset I need it for zoom my face looks all of noice

Lol
or just buy a cheap $30 webcam in 1080p and save your self the hassle of setting it up everytime😐 😐 😐
Nice tips? lol
Please limit the use of your hands while you are talking. You’re flapping your hands around and distracting the viewer. Thank you
Do NOT get that $20 capture card, its garbage. Save for the camlink.
It's worked good for us... we have a couple of them...
What happened when you used it?
