These shoots always seem like the best kind of atmosphere. Just friendly and knowledgeable people and black powder. Congratulations on your acquisition of the P51. I’m looking forward to videos on it. I was also especially excited to see that NWMP Winchester ‘76. Perhaps that could make another guest appearance in the future as well?

Great video, I enjoy these meet up shoot videos you post; looks fun! Wish I could partake in this event.
Regrettably time is not in my favor, and unless an open is there, I lack British arms; my only blackpowder piece is my '61 Springfield.

What an outstanding event! I look forward to watching your Alberta shoot each year on You Tube and this one did not disappoint. On the contrary it was wonderful viewing. I really liked the format you used on this video to break down each event and explain the competitions in detail. I'm a new owner of a Snider 2 band short rifle and as of last week, a Snider cavalry carbine too. This is exactly the kind of inspiration that makes me even more keen to get on the range with them and shoot some Figure of Merit targets. Best wishes.

That was brilliant, thank you kindly for sharing Rob! It was great to see you chaps firing a variety of beautiful old rifles. Some in quite remarkable condition considering they were 200+ year old service rifles! I personally found it very interesting seeing the stark contrast in reloading times and calibre varriants as weapons technology progressed through the ages. Muzzle loading, snider breach, martini henry and then then the first generation bolt actions. Inspirational stuff and looks like you all had a great laugh, as well as remaining historically accurate and factual.
Thanks again for the upload 👍

I love shoots like this, just everyone having a good time. I went to a small match like this earlier this year, the 2nd annual time they've had it. More informal than anything else, all muzzleloaders but no inlines. The biggest thing was shooting at a Bigfoot target out to 100 yards. I think it's stuff like this that will hopefully draw in younger shooters. Nice to see some P39 muskets out there, almost unheard of to see them here in the US. There are the Indian made copies, but it's nice to see originals back in action again.

More Black Watch... hence the white kit... albeit missing the red hackle... (must've got lost in the bush). The jacket is an old tweed sports jacket that I added a button to and cut away the skirts a bit... Made it for the Boer character in the Mauser v MLE video a while back.

The bayonet was one of the things the British Army did best. It’s relatively easy to teach people to shoot at someone. Standing your ground in the face of a bayonet charge is a totally different thing and one of the reasons militia/guerrillas usually failed in battle against British regulars.
