I was pleased to watch this. I have a C3 mask, bought new and unissued, many years ago. Think I paid about 30 quid for it back then. It's surprisingly comfortable to wear and the 60mm filter is efficient; it's still possible to buy new 60mm filters at the moment, so I'm keeping mine as original as possible. I will have a look at 40mm thread adaptors and filters when the supply of 60mm dries up. I use an anti-fog spray of the type sold for helmet visors, which seems to keep lens fogging to moderate levels as long as you're not doing anything strenuous. The internal nose cup does do a decent job.
There’s something about the look of the C3 that makes me really want one. My collection focuses on GWAT masks, but I think I’m going to make an exception because of how it looks
Just got my C3 in the mail today as a mystery bag purchase from eBay... man that thing is the most comfortable mask I've ever worn. Fits my face perfectly, I don't even have to tighten down the straps much at all and I get a great seal.
You have any idea where one could find replacement 60mm intake valves? The C3 might need a new one, and I'm not finding any for sale online. Didn't know if there was maybe an equivalent valve from like 3M that might work? It also needed the small oranasal valve, but I had a leftover US M9/M17/M40 valve that was just barely big enough to work for that.
The British also made a exceptionally rare prototype of this mask I'm not sure if I said before but it had a top loading filter I saw one on sale about a year ago it sold for £500 if I remember correctly!
@@Shanonmcnab576 If I ever get one I'll review it, never owned one so can't really comment. I think the original black models fell apart hence why the new models have been green ever since.
I have a C3 that doesnt look like yours 100%. Some say mine is the Canadian C3 mark 2, but what you called mark 2 looked totally different. Can you tell me whats different between the two? I only saw that the front has a plastic cap that you have to screw on and the net was in that cap instead of inside the masks mouth piece.
so what is the thread/filter called? My dad thought that the c3 filter that the mask came with was expired, which it was, but he tried to BREAK OPEN the filter and I'm new to gas masks in general, so I need to find a name or something that would help me get a new filter (not new). Also I told him the idea about the p3 filters but he said it was too much money (20 usd for a 4 pack of big ones).
Also there is a varient of the british mask canada used called the C2 but i dont know which came first, the british version or the C2 (made this comment at the very start of the video)
where and how did you buy these?? i've been looking for a canadian c3 gas mask for about 2 months and i can't buy it from ebay cuz i don't know how the hell i change the dollars to euros :///
I saw a lag mask for £35 today at a army surplus and personally I thought that was a bit overpriced, what do you think? Q&A question: what do you think was the most interesting war and why?

Yeah C3 is made from a nice flexible rubber.

Or is making a new one my best bet?
Nice 2in1 video and congratulations on 19,000 subs!
Thanks at 19101 subs now.
Love this vid can you do a vid on the gasmasks Sweden made
Sure can do
19,000 subs well done 👍🏻
Thanks 19101 now.

There's one in a private collection as well, seems a bit stupid making a unicorn mask.
Good job on 19k almost 20k!
Cheers
Do you happen to know if the 60mm Finnish canisters will fit in these C3 masks?
are the PH hoods fully functional when you dip it in the chemicals or is just for display?
It's a replica, it may work but I'm not going to get a vat of dodgy chemicals to test it.
@@Weaponsandstuff93 What are your thoughts on the Canadian C4 gas mask? Is it true that they had a problem falling apart due to the glue used?

Maybe the export version of the C3?
Ok I found out it's the dutch version.
Thanks for the tip
What filter does the c3 come with
Canadian 60mm filter.
Does a ABEKP 40 mm respirator work for the c3
The C3 is in 60mm not 40mm.
I wonder why some of the c3's have a flat triangle in the middle and some have a little "bump" (same as the LaG)
On the older British Civilian Duty Mask, that's where the Flapper Exhale valve went, the LaG style masks had a proper exhale valve on the front
@@Weaponsandstuff93 Ok so you're saying that some C3's were made off the BCD concept and others from the LaG?
My c3 has a built in 40mm port so I don’t need the adaptor
Mine too
Seems like most of them come with the adapter? Guess there’s variations
Are the British Mk1 LAGs lenses replaceable?
Sid Wilson #0 mask
so what is the thread/filter called?

60MM NATO is the type the old Canadian, British and US masks used, 60mm filters are obsolete but Finnish surplus 60mm filters still turn up cheaply.
@@Weaponsandstuff93 thank you
are there lense covers for the c3 or do the s10 or fm12 ones work for it?
No it's a totally different mask.
Weaponsandstuff93 ok thanks, are there lenses covers made for the c3?
I’m thinking of getting either a polish MC-1 or a Canadian C3 which one should I get?? And also is the C3 filters safe?
the Toasty bagel
I think it is safe. I would get a C3, it looks much better and is a better mask.
Also there is a varient of the british mask canada used called the C2 but i dont know which came first, the british version or the C2 (made this comment at the very start of the video)
I assume the British version
Im confused on how to remove the mouth piece on the C3, I want to clean my mask throughly.
you cant
well without uncrimping the front you cant so i wouldn't do it if i was you
where and how did you buy these?? i've been looking for a canadian c3 gas mask for about 2 months and i can't buy it from ebay cuz i don't know how the hell i change the dollars to euros :///
It's automatically done by PayPal...
@@Weaponsandstuff93 O-o) oh... ok...thanks man
@@Weaponsandstuff93 uhm... everytime i try to enter my state it automaticly puts it back to united states ._.)
cool video and cool UK gas mask
Thanks
I saw a lag mask for £35 today at a army surplus and personally I thought that was a bit overpriced, what do you think?
Q&A question: what do you think was the most interesting war and why?
It's a good price due to the age of the mask.
I heard that the metal grate is if you puke it goes through of the grate exept chunks
Doesn't really make sense
How are gas masks made
Rubber moulds mostly.
Can the c3 protect against radiation
Against alpha particles yes, same as any other respirator.
A guy was vaping with a full face gas mask
I suppose you could set the air-intake without a filter to let the vapour in.
it was actually very well built and wasn't really terrible to use and wear
Weaponsandstuff93 does the Israeli civilian and military-issued gas mask filters contain asbestos?
No
thanks for the advice
YES YOU SAID DENMARK!
Indeed
I own 2 Israeli gas mask
PIXELDALEK 13 can I have one
no sorry i'm a collector.
we might be able to work something out if you willing to trade a mask for a mask or money
