I have a Yugoslav M2 and this is the best 40MM Filter GASMASK I ever owned!! Love it! I daily wear it against corna when I am in the public. Its a little hard to talk under that thing but its funny when I am in the post office ordering some stamps etc.... sounds pretty much like Darth Vader :-))))
I just bought a Yugoslavian M-1 and it came with the bag, mask, gas parka poncho thing, filter and the original fitting guidebook. I bought it from my local surplus market and they had a bunch of them as well as GP-5 masks and CM-4s
My M61 the filter for some reason doesnt screw all the way in and doesnt create a seal. That and its a BITCH to screw on and off the mask so i gotta ask if theyres a solution to this because i currently dont have the funds for the 60-40mm converter yet.
Its the filter sad to say it wont screw in all the way and when i do screw it in theirs threading expose. i was wondering if their is a trick to still make a seal like ones Vets used if their filters still showed threading.
Gotta love the M2(one of my first masks). The Serbs have begun to withdraw it from service and replace it with another modernised M9 model, the M3 which has a voice diaphragm and is made of black rubber.
The M9 was used all the way up to the 70's, with the national guard, at least. You can see it pictures during the Kent state massacre, when a lot of national guardsmen can be seen wearing it. rdln.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/kentstate2.jpg
The polish mc1 gas mask's voice emiteer Has all these fibres and shit in it is it asbestos or is it safe? So I don't clean it out and get myself Attacked by asbestos or is just my gas mask in bad condition
Yugoslav things always had bad consistency, you need to personaly look into stuff always, especialy army gear. Boots could warry in weight by almost a half kilo per pair.
The most useful of these masks (in my opinion):
1. M2
2. M61
3. M9A1
4. M1

Cool
So hyped for this!
just got an M9A1 new in it's original tin from the 50s
I got an M2 in my collection, its the most comfortable mask i own even if the rubbers color went a lil weird.
What colour did it go?
Its still green but got a lil grey on some outer parts, maybe it was the UV light or just some dirt that i cannot remove with soap and water.
Would you recommend a Drager M65 over a GP 5?
Yes in terms of it takes 40mm NATO filters, but the M65 doesn't fit a lot of people very well.
Scott_noots 9/11 we have the same profile pics. We are cheeki breeki brothers

Monolith for life
I recently got an m9a1 with a filter on the right, the only one ive ever seen like that too.
I wish i had that in a left handed person
@@IFOUNDLUNCHBALL im selling mine lol. but I only ship to ontario bc of shipping prices

Is it a problem with the mask or filter? If it's a problem with the mask having a 60-40mm converter won't fix anything.

@@aaairsoftmedia this is a bit late but you can get an 60 - 40 mm converter for 4 euros on varusteleka excluding the shipping cost
sorry if you already know this, but imma tell it anyway
you got the small mask, m stands for "mala" which means small
Yes I've been told several times, small still just about fits me.
sorry then, just wanted to make sure

The M3 has nothing to do with the M9, it's a Serbian variant of the US M40.
Weaponsandstuff93 Sorry my bad it was the M-2F I was thinking about. I just mistook it for an M3 because of their similar appearances.
Where i can get filters for them 50mm i think it is
Does the British S6 gas mask filter has asbestos in it?
No as they were all post 1960s 40mm filters.
Weaponsandstuff93 thank you. I can breath in peace now 🙌🏻
I see 60-40mm adapters in the survivalist publications I sometime get in the mail. They look very *plastic fantastic* to me.
Well lots of mask parts are plastic, so I don't see the problem.
Cool video
Thanks.
Where did you get your M9 and how much did it cost? I really want the whole set in the tin like you have but I cant see any on eBay.

The M9 was supposedly used by the chemical corps until the introduction of the M40, as they needed a mask with easily replaceable filters.
Your M2 is a size M which actually means small in yugoslavian hence it feels smaller and not as big as it should for your face!
Yeah someone said that the other day.
Good video,get well soon
Thanks.
I prefer the M61 with a 60 to 40mm adapter over the M2 for the seal and also I use a Israeli sivilian adult PAPR with it
I love my M1

Mine doesn't so I really don't know what's in yours.
they used the M9a1 with TAP equipment for years after the 60s
The M9 was in service until the 1990s with the Chemical Corps but not in mainstream service.
yeah they used TAP toxilogical Agent protective suits
Yes that was cool👍
I assume 11£ would be a good price for an M61.
Yes
Can mack M1 vs M9 ?;)

What size fits about a 11 year old child for a gas mask, also feel better!
Small I guess.

Yugo M1 is for civilians and M2 is for the army
Wasn't the MC-1 the civilian mask, the M1 was certainly used by the military.
@@Weaponsandstuff93 yes the mc-1 is the civilian version of the m-1 and then the m-2 is a modernised version of the m-1
I just bought a gm30
How mummified is it.
Finily i now
Still bad att english
