i think the person who said "theon, you're a good man" actually *needs* to be not-bran. the scene is powerful because the three-eyed raven sees everything theon has ever done, and still tells him he's a good man. every other time someone says he's good, theon says "you don't know what i've done." the three-eyed raven does know and that's why theon can finally believe it.

Dude even the swords on this show had great story arcs lol. How poetic that Brienne and Jamie were fighting back to back to protect Winterfell using swords made from Ned's sword 🥲
I still cant get over them putting the trebuchets on the front line, also what was the plan before Melisandre showed up? To have the Dothraki charge blind with ineffective weapons?
6:51 "Why are we rushing them?" Ahhh yes. The very first of (I predict) many realizations that the ending episodes of this show may indeed have 'some minor flaws'.
The 3 eyed raven is the true villain and wins the game of thrones, gains control over the kingdom and eliminated any possible challengers. Orchestrating events in the past to lead to that point
When I watched this episode back in the day, I had a bottle of "Game of Thrones" themed whiskey that a friend had given me. I planned to drink a shot in memory of every named character who died in this one. I was seriously buzzed by the end of the episode. And yes... I took a shot in memory of the Night King.

My favorite part of this episode was when the Night King told Arya "it's morbin' time", proceeds to kill her so Jon fulfills his Azor Ahai prophecy by killing him.
I personally think that this episode and this final season as a whole gets way more hate than it deserves. Is this episode a 10/10 no, but at least in my opinion it's definitely not the worst episode of the series. One thing I will say about the Dothraki is that, the way that they fight is charging ahead, they don't fight defensively so it wouldn't have made sense for the Dothraki specifically to stay back. If it was the Unsullied, or any of the other soldiers I would agree, but for the Dothraki I'd have to disagree.
The Dothraki are the best horse archers in their world. They should have been split into two flanking forces to harry the sides of the horde, perhaps even taking shots at the NK or his generals if given the chance. Catapults should have been inside the walls from the beginning, firing constantly, until friendly fire becomes unavoidable. They should have had far more archers on the walls too. There's more, but tactical rant over. Lol. guys this has been a wonderful journey to take with you, gonna be a sad moment when it ends. I don't even care what people say, I really didn't hate Arya killing the Night King. I don't think the final season was great and it was disappointing in several aspects, but as someone who read all the books, prequels, history books and everything in the universe (most of them multiple times), I think the hate is massively overblown, driven by book reader fanboy outrage and memes. A self fulfilling circlejerk. Not everything is a 10/10 or a 1/10. Seeing Igli shout "eat shit" at the Night King made me smile so much
Can't agree sorry, Arya had nothing to do with the Whitewalker plot and having her strike the final blow while Jon autistically screeched at a dragon was criminal writing. D & D catering the show to NPCs ruined it
@@woahblackbettybamalam While I agree that Arya wasn't really connected with the Whitewalker plot so far, they prophesied that blue eyes would be among the eyes that Arya snuffs out forever. Sadly, as much as that offers a thread of connection, that was also a D&D insert and never happened in the books either.
@@cascade1788they used that as an excuse to claim it's been foreshadowed for years, but that's bs. The plot called for jon v. Night kong but they wanted to "subvert expectations". Problem is those expectations are there because they wrote the show that way and decided to just throw a wrench in at the end to surprise viewers. Fact is, I wouldve been happier if the night king pinched Arya's head off when he caught her. That wouldve made more sense than what went down.
One of THE darkest episodes ever. And I'm not talking about the story or writing 😐 Theon really had the best story arc in my opinion. As a viewer I came from "don't care about him" to "hate the guy" to "poor guy" to "totally redeemed himself". As great as it was written though, a line from Peter Venkman just keeps popping up in my mind every time I see poor Theon: Yes it's true - This man has no dick.
Yeah the plot armor is ridiculous...people die in Game of Thrones...that's just the way it is. That's how it was since day one. In this situation right here...you can't tell me Sam, Jaime, Pod & even Brienne survived.
At the end of the day, the worst part of this episode is how there is just no storytelling. Its just a bunch of fakeout deaths until arya pops outta nowhere and saves the day. There was nothing that the heroes needed to figure out, nothing that needed to be discovered.. no plan that needed to be executed. Just "omg who is gonna pop the night king!! Oh no the dragon didn't work... oh no the *insert* didn't work... OMG ARYAS KNIFE WORKED"... Thats literally the whole story of this episode... Why the hell was Bran even important to the night king? What were the stakes? What was the purpose of these white walkers? What the f*ck is the 3-eyed-raven? lol.
When Arya killed the nk it made me happy at first because yk it was that moment where the bad guy finally dies but them later on i reflected on that and i was like wait a minute it should of have been jon not arya and plus this hole season was rushed and bad writing soooo idk why they made arya of all people kill the nk🤦♂️

A good Sunday to you all. This is far off topic: Considering the delays you had due to severe weather and storms, do you have any time frame for when episode 7 of Midnight Mass will be on this platform to watch?
Theon's entire story was of a young man who was very inssecure abuot who he was and relied so heavily on his bein heir to the Iron Islands and fantasized he'd be welcomed home with fanfare - only to have tht fantasy crushed. He was told he wasn't a Stark, Told by his family he didn't deserve to be a Greyjoy. He made some very bad choices in the hopes of proving himself to be accepted. Only to come back an arc of redemption and be told "He's a good man" which is all he wanted to hear since S1 E1. The rest of the Battle had beautiful cinematics but so much could be picked apart by a child from battle plans onward.
Theon's story was perfect. I like this episode because of the music through the entire episode. I went to see Ramin Djawadi live here in Montreal. I always watch this episode with over the ear headphones, high quality, high volume. In some moments the music is trying to match your heartbeat. Most people assumed Jon was going to be the one Killing the Night King. But this is GoT so at the end was Arya. I found this very clever.
When this episode of television premiered there were huge comparisons to Avengers Infinity war with the scope of the battle, it became an event and one of the most viewed episodes of television in history, say what you want about the season, this episode is a true demonstration of what is possible in television and a big catalyst for television and streaming shows production value to get way bigger budgets, an incredible moment in time, and Arya is that it girls.
Unpopular opinion: Jon killing the NK would've been the most boring ending to this plotline. AND: in my opinion he already fulfilled his purpose by bringing everyone to Winterfell. Without him, they wouldn't have survived this. Arya wouldn't have turned around towards Winterfell on her way to KL. The free folk wouldn't have been there, Dany & her army and dragons wouldn't have been there. He. Did. That. (with help of course) And by whinging over the detail that he didn't get to have the final kill, you're belittling all of this yourself. Just sayin.
Yeah everyone was expecting it to happen like that but what this show does well is develop other characters who can come and go at any moment. It was risky to kill Ned, to do the red wedding and risky to have Arta take out the nk. Idk why people hate it so much when it makes so much sense. I actually liked this episode. Its the stuff that comes after that i kinda disliked
Hell yeah, and Im all for the ending of the series in whole, was an ending that nobody expected, or wanted i guess, which means it got ppl talking about it for the rest of time.

I think another reason they made it so dark was to save money. Think about it. A hoard of undead is easier to make if you can only see the front lines and the rest are hidden in the darkness.
I agree with Blake. This was the worst episode of the show. I fooled myself up to this point that the payoff would be worth it, but it wasnt. This episode solidified the idea of plot armor in this show. Sam, Tormund, Pod, Jaime, Brienne, Arya, Sandor, Sansa, Tyrion shouldve all died in this episode. The amount of times seeing one of those characters screaming from the bottom of the pile only to magically be fine the next scene was an insult to the viewers. Wonder if Iglis opinion will change next week when he realizes we lost only a few side characters?
My biggest letdown is with Corey 53 mins - was that an epic Jon vs Knight King hand to hand didn’t go down. It built up for years, such as Hardhome & 7.6 staredown…you had an amazing stuntman playing the NK & it could’ve looked superb with swordplay. Also if NK had bested Jon, left him laying (not dead) then Arya killing him would’ve meant more. I was disappointed they didn’t even face off.
Blake doesn’t want anyone to have their own opinion on episodes, just impose his perspective… and I highly doubt he only watched it once before, unless he rewatched via other UA-camrs breakdowns lol
Completely agree with Corey .. when Arya first ended the Night King the feeling was OMG, but after the episode ended the feeling of being let down and is this it? We watched it in real time and had waited almost 2yrs for this season, 8 seasons of winter is coming and the dead come with it was over in an instant. Sam and Jaime still alive but not Jorah?? It took watching reaction videos for me to watch the whole series again and season 8 is still very disappointing. I love this show but they ruined it not only for the fans but the actors also. I def thought I wouldn't cry when Bran said 'Theon.. you're a good man' but it got me .. again haha Jon should have been the one to end the Night King and Arya should have been the one to end Cersei, just like she promised she was going to do.
Blake just let the guy watch it for what it is!!! Beric and serving the purpose? The constant sarcasm as well is off the charts here throughout… I would’ve thought that you guys leading him through this wouldn’t have influenced his thoughts regardless of what the majority of fans thought 🙄
This episode shouldve been season 8 entirely. The strategies were tht of a 10 yr old. All build up for plot points of earlier seasons thrown out to "subvert expectations". The biggest threat to the world over in a single night, what an absolute dissapointment.
I hate to admit it but I still have not watched Season 8 even though I have the 4k box set. I've only watched a couple reactions to it. Everytime I think I'll get it off the shelf and watch it I remember how it ends and I move on to something else.
If you want to see an amazing comment about this episode, check the video "5 minutes of Wolf and his rage" from the amazing EFAP team. That is how most of us all felt after this episode
that’s actually not true, it was a rumour created by reddit that has somehow spread into “fact” they announced their plans for s8 before they were in talks with star wars
BLAKE: off topic. I saw you during the last episode using a rolling ointment or cream pain relief for your neck. May I suggest "Ice Queen" brand. If you can find it, it works the best IMO. I have tried many different ones and this is the only one I find to actually work.
Why would Jon and the NK fight one-to-one? Did we ever see the NK fight anyone? He commanded the dead and threw spears at dragons, he didn't sword fight. People saying there was no reason for Arya to kill the NK, is as lacking in foresight as saying Dany went mad in one episode - both these things were clearly signposted and built up throughout the entire series. Why would the Dothraki sit back and wait for the dead to arrive? As Igli pointed out, charging and overwhelming their opponents is how they fight. It didn't work this time (nothing would have, so all the marvellous suggestions people make for a different approach are pointless), but naturally they would attack in the only way they knew how. Worst episode of TV ever? ... oh please! 🙄 You can pick out different bits that weren't as you wanted them to be, or how you think they should have gone down, but this is still a brilliant, epic piece of TV. And rejoicing in the 'downfall' (I'm sure they'll be just fine!) of two people who brought you the best TV show in history, just because you didn't enjoy the ending, is unbelievably childish and entitled.
"Who knows more of gods than I? Horse gods and fire gods, gods made of gold with gemstone eyes, gods carved of cedar wood, gods chiseled into mountains, gods of empty air... I know them all. I have seen their peoples garland them with flowers, and shed the blood of goats and bulls and children in their names. And I have heard the prayers, in half a hundred tongues. Cure my withered leg, make the maiden love me, grant me a healthy son. Save me, succor me, make me wealthy... protect me! Protect me from mine enemies, protect me from the darkness, protect me from the crabs inside my belly, from the horselords, from the slavers, from the sellswords at my door. Protect me from the Silence." He laughed. "Godless? Why, Aeron, I am the godliest man ever to raise sail! You serve one god, Damphair, but I have served ten thousand. From Ib to Asshai, when men see my sails, they pray." One day you'll understand.
I really like the episode and even Arya's role, but yea how did the long night last one episode that was a joke of a pacing as is the season / last couple seasons. It's so disappointing in tragic because it could have been so so so so so so so so so so so so so so great! So much cool stuff left out with a longer long night, and not just one big battle. A lot of cool Bran stuff completely neglected too and all the storylines (whose general directions I like) ended so suddenly and like unceremoniously.
You keep the army ON and BEHIND the castle walls as it is a force multiplier. Under no exceptions do you keep the cavalry as your first line of defense and do not charge blindly into the darkness with the f**king Trebuchets firing where you are charging to! There are so many things wrong with this castle defense, I cannot list them all, historians, soldiers and gamers have all done youtube vids explaining this, it's painful to watch.
A lot of people didn't understand what Jon was doing screaming at the dragon. I just assumed he figured he was going to die so he had to decide whether he was going to die hiding or face his end like his Ned. Every other explanation I have for this episodes quirks is me just making up excuses.
I have watched your reactions, and have thought that it is interesting, but that you are very lacking of emotions. So that I have read you as narcs. But now me think that you three are on the spectre. Not that it matters. I think it would help your channel, though. If you told us, mind me.

Blake angry is fun.
Lets face it the Dothraki deserved what they got in this episode, This episode was amazing when it aired.
19:57 this is so funny bro wth😭😭
I hate to admit it but I still have not watched Season 8 even though I have the 4k box set. I've only watched a couple reactions to it. Everytime I think I'll get it off the shelf and watch it I remember how it ends and I move on to something else.
Arya made the most sense. They had built that over years and it was perfect. The rest of it was bad.
If you want to see an amazing comment about this episode, check the video "5 minutes of Wolf and his rage" from the amazing EFAP team. That is how most of us all felt after this episode
Can't disagree more. My favorite episode of all. Writing is top notch for me.
D&D originally wanted to make s8 into a trilogy similar to lotr which i think would’ve been better for pacing but hbo didn’t allow it
HBO wanted to give them 10 season but D&D decide to rish it because of Star Wars
that’s actually not true, it was a rumour created by reddit that has somehow spread into “fact”
they announced their plans for s8 before they were in talks with star wars
From Ib to Asshai, when men see my sails, they pray."
One day you'll understand.
Yes - way too dark but that's how shows save money on FX.
Theon was the worst!! Only thing better than what happened woulda been him getting sloooooow death
Arya killed The Shite King
Ending to the Night King was so trash...
😻😻😻
Happy for the new reactors unbiased Reaction here.
And.. the very toxic reaction of some of those who already watched it.. 🤮 g😅😅
Have you guys react Alien Romulus yet? It’s such a fantastic movie.
I have watched your reactions, and have thought that it is interesting, but that you are very lacking of emotions. So that I have read you as narcs. But now me think that you three are on the spectre. Not that it matters. I think it would help your channel, though. If you told us, mind me.
This is my least favorite episode of GOT.
