The one thing I missed in this one (great episode otherwise btw) is their very mathematical approach to resources. They are happy to trade with others, however if they calculate it would cost less resources to trade rather than fight they will just straight up invade. The whole hatred of wastage informs EVERYTHING. If fighting would be less wasteful than trading they will fight, if trading is less wasteful they will trade. in D&D allignments terms I would call them Lawful Neutral but very Aggressive Lawful Neutral. Another pretty grimdark aspect of them is that a new spacedwarf will be created with a specific task in mind. They can never be anything other than what they are made to do. It's not a caste system but it's something similar in that you are born for a specific purpose and that purpose WILL be your life because it's literally imprinted in your genes. You can really question if they really have free will. and that's pretty insidous and dark I think.

LOVE THE NEW SET UP! Love to see all the love and growth you guys have gotten this year! My vote is for the ABHUMANS! For my big jolly bodyguards of course.
There ARE models for female Kin/Squats, they just don't appear as short-stack sexy fantasy dwarf women, they basically look like the men, but with slightly smoother features and no beard. In fact you can see one in the video, at 41:22, the one in the left hand side of the picture, THAT is a Space Dwarf woman
28:32 also apparently their souls are created in the cloning process as well, so there not very bright in the warp, But they do HAVE souls. The Ad Mec would kill to have that tech as well
Gotta say, started listening for about 3 weeks now, been tearing through these podcasts between here and spotify, might even do pateron just for the exclusive episodes. Anyway, love the new set! Can't wait to see it fill out some more!
I have returned to this video from the new warp video to try to find the parts of the song Diggy Diggy hole that have been hidden. I feel like this has been planned by Tzeentch
ROGUE TRADERS DO ROGUE TRADERS I LOVE ROGUE TRADERS with the game coming out its suuuuuch good timing. The algorithm would love it and i think youd get a lot more hits than usual on the video. I absolutely love rogue traders and cannot wait for the game. I have my own rogue trader called Dr. T, a time traveler

I get it now, only been into Warhammer like 3 years and when these guys came out I didn't get it but I get it now, they're rad, when I'm done getting my nids and nightlords these guys will be my army I get serious about
The most shafted faction lore wise, they get squatted and after they return their lack of books and immediate nerf on the tabletop just shoved them into irrelevancy again
Things I'd love GW to do with their lore: - Expand on the Demiurg ships. Commit to what's already there. Maybe show us some of the smaller ships. - Give them a cool, dwarfish name for their subspecies. Something more distinct than "Kin" or "Squat". Demiurg is a cool name, but it's a single letter off of an existing, totally distinct concept. So not viable. - Show us how the Votann actually keep the fact that they have AI a secret from Imperials. Playing "hide and seek the Ironkin" stretches the imagination, if it's supposed to work every time. - Show us how scary the galactic core is.
idk what to say mr Isyander and mr Koda I binged everything, almost everything, it’s legit really helped thru a really bad breakup this past couple weeks, I’m really hungover rn and I’m repping Texas and I need a genestealer episode
Your channel got me more interested in 40k, and while WH40K is grimdark, it's more than just that. It's actually this video specifically that's making me consider getting into the hobby with the Leagues of Votann as my first army.
I'm between Abhumans and Ciaphas Cane. Since the next one on the books could be Abhumans I'm going with that. And I really hope there's enough time and space for the various different types of abhumans to get spoken on in the recordings but not the Hrud. I really like the Felinids over them and I'm confused as to why the Imperium doesn't use those kitties to fight certain enemies like the Dark Eldar or something. Just like how they apparently use the Beastmen as cannon fodder or just hate them which is why those poor bastards ended up turning the chaos in the 40K setting. (Whereas in the fantasy setting they were already chaos aligned, basically chaos born). And there's so many stories that could be written about them or with them. I'm not entirely sure if they could be written from their perspective since the Imperium is so ridiculously xenophobic/racist but it's not unwarranted considering who they're constantly up against. Not against other humans but against other species. Of which they see abhumans kind of like that but at the same time many of them are mutants and you know how they hate mutants. Especially the Sisters of Battle with the bolter, flamer and melter 😏😱. Yet they're also So Human, you can't dissociate them from the rest of the Imperium without doing serious damage to the structure of it all, including all of the poor souls turned into Servitors (and I do mean the poor souls, not like that guy from Priests of Mars that was turned into an Archeoflagulent”. He had that coming in spades. Dude was like a proto Goge van Dire just starting his bloody reign). Although all of them are probably part goat since cows are pretty much canon as to happen wiped out of existence 🤔.
Abhumans are Officially "Not Mutants" since they're a stable genome and their change hasn't been caused by Chaos corruption (one of the main forms of mutation)
@@thebighurt2495 Technically they are mutants but the mutation is intentional not something that's random like somebody ending up with an arm at the back of their head or teeth with their ass should be. And the same goes for humans who are augmented on specific worlds throughout the Imperium like those who live on Fenris with their wolf genes or the people of Nocturne, especially those who become Salamander Space Marines, with their ashen black skin and charcoal red eyes. I'm sure at one point it was more mutinogenic but they refined the change to be less random and more intentional. So you're not wrong. But from that same example that I gave people from those worlds that I mentioned also, especially when Space Marines are concerned, have a tendency to mutate like from the Black Dragons Successor chapter of the Salamanders and the Wulfen of the Space Wolves which was a result of the unstable genome of the warriors who followed Leman Russ after their legion was created but suffered that feral state of transformation which exists down the lines of many of their gene seeded descendants. And the Primarchs themselves even have some unstable genes or either through sabotage, something involving the warp or some sort of microscopic mistake, several of their chapters have issues. One of the most resplendent of them all was Sanguinis and even he had the Red Thirst like his sons in the Blood Angels which through his dead, that's basically a lasting curse after fighting Horus, now also suffer the Black Rage. Not to mention that after the Cabals Horus set up to get different legions to secretly hang out and discuss strategies and whatnot outside of the Imperium's law about them interacting is likely where many successor chapters were born even from unlikely cousins of different space marines choosing to fight together than fall to chaos like Nathaniel Garo of the former Dusk Raiders who later became the Death Guard when the rest were suffering disease and sickness which was virtually impossible for them before, causing them to fall to the plague god Nurgle in surrender becoming his “Plague Marines”. It's believed that unexpected legions came together and formed the later legions especially after swapping gene seed like the Space Sharks whom to many people myself included have elements of the Night Lords, Blood Angels and Salamanders to them. Particularly the Salamanders and Night Lords from how they seemingly disappear, taking the bodies of the fallen of their battle brothers and the enemy, and from their path into battle by politely asking to join the fray of a world being besieged. They're probably the product of some sort of mutation that stabilized itself or they did it themselves through sheer will and still use it to their advantage on the battlefield before disappearing like their shark namesake, back into the depths of space. Speaking of which I'm actually surprised that there's not a Raven Guard and Dark Angels successor chapter out there called the Shadow Gryphons or something combining the Knightly order aesthetic with stealth and tactics. But if they had a mutation, it'd probably be how some of them seem to grow feathers or something but it's like a 2 in 100 of their members so it's not a frequent thing 😅😂. No reason for them to be banished by the Inquisition on some bs because they developed an Emperor blessed super power like the Fire Hawks.
Rogue Traders, please and thank you! And please do a Space Wolves video! Also quick question: Has Guilliman met up with them since coming back? Would he remember Bjorn the Fellhand?
That was actually a really good comparison, clones in star wars aren't force sensitive and u can't clone force sensitives (most the time there are exceptions) things go wrong and u get disfigured corpes most the time, so it makes sense that clones in wh40k can't access the warp
for the longest time I knew absolutely nothing about the Votann and saw no one talking about them anywhere, so I decided I wouldn't look em up and just keep it as a "head meme" but after watching this video I now love them.
The best interpretation I've heard for STCs is that they're not just the blueprint to make something, they're the blueprint and then further blueprints and semi-AI generated info on the tooling, factory infrastructure, and resource requirements to manufacture an item

So the thing with temporary "evil" Superman from the Justice League movie was that it was supposed to be a form of stress and fear induced psychosis. One of the constants in DC is that getting brought back to life sucks because it causes temporary psychosis, which is commonly referred to as Lazarus Syndrome. It doesn't just come from the pits. Another character that has suffered Lazarus Syndrome from being resurrected despite not having been resurrected with one of the pits is Raven her psychosis typically takes the from of either MPS or DIS though.

The only reason I'm commenting is because I rewatch/relissten y'all's stuff so much. This is like the 10th time I'm watching some of these while I do something else. I love how each one of y'all's videos are different, and how y'all deliver information is amazing. Have a good rest of y'all's day.
A vote for the Rogue Traders! Tell us the tales of how they skirt around the Lex Imperialis
❤
If i'm ever depressed, i just watch the introduction of Shadow walking up and pumping that MP5 like a shotgun it's been what like 20 years and that shit STILL cracks me up to this day
I love that big silver plaque in the background for you two. I saw this drop while at work and I was HYPED to watch this first thing.
I was immediately shot on entering this episode, I can't believe this.
Rogue Traders get my vote if only because the character creation system in the TTRPG is dope
👍
Honestly, I like the LoV mainly because they have very advanced technology they actually understand (like the T'au) but also have the whole fantasy warrior approach where they still hit things with axes and shit. (Like the Imperium.) These guys have plasma swords. That's awesome.
When you rock and stone your never alone!!! 🗣️🗣️
5:22 You guys are the philosophers that everyone needs to hear at least once in their lifetime
Also, Koda's facial reaction ... hahaha
Love the new set up guys, also let's just go with what the machine spirit known as the Algorithm would want and go with the Rogue Traders.
I feel like that specific votann is just waiting for a single human soul to pop in and just make the iron men but with a soul because that is exactly how you counter the tyranids
May you elaborate further
Tyranids can rip terminators in half men of iron are easy claps - nid gang
@socksman9968 respect the wank 🤌
@socksman9968 no food though. Even if they win they gain nothing; no organic matter to replace losses. Theyd lose to attrition.
@@socksman9968comparing a terminator to men of iron is like comparing a car mechanic with an homemade flamethrower to an intelligent and autonomous MBT
I cannot tell you the massive grin i sported when i saw the new setup. You guys are gonna make it. As far as im concerned, you have.
Digging holes is super easy, barely an inconvenience!
Rogue Trader next! Tie-in with the game drop and a great way to ride that warp corrupted algorithm.
👍
15:31 I love the delivery of this line, it also made me spit out my drink simply out of laughter.
Requesting an episode on how Magnus did nothing wrong.
Magnus the nerd who was just trying his best, dangit!
He kind of did... But he had good intentions. If only his dad was more open about what he knew...
Magnus was suppose to "do nothing". And he did it wrong.
Impossible. He did almost everything wrong
@@haraldbredsdorff2699 Did someone told him to do nothing? No. So he did SOMETHING in order to try and warn his daddy, but daddy was angry at him, because he did something wrong with the thing he SAID NOTHING ABOUT!
I love hearing more about y'all. The fact that y'all went to school together is really cool. It really explains why y'all really are just family. I still can't tell if it's the best bros or y'all are each other's other half. I only get information on y'all from your podcast or videos so if y'all have specified sorry. Y'all relationship is why I keep watching y'all. The humor back and forth, how y'all deliver lines is just amazing. I really want another episode where koda hosts. I don't know how many takes it took (I don't think it took more than 2, it just might have) but that Warframe episode was really good. I still haven't finished this episode so there will be another comment from me about the leagues. Have a good rest of y'all's day.
"Phil might be a robot, but he's also the best joint roller we have in the clan"
--Leagues of Votaan on their relationship with AI.... probably
Oh my god, he did hide the lyrics of diggy diggy hole in here.
WE DID IT! ROCK AND STONE EVERYONE!
Did I hear a ROCK AND STONE
COCK AND BALLS BROTHER
@@fabianholmgren9399 ROCK AND STONE BROTHER
Rock and Stone to the Bone!!!
Koda and isander really turning into a daily need for me 😂
Edit: imagine if fulgrim discovered the depressed core?
LOVE THE NEW SET UP! Love to see all the love and growth you guys have gotten this year! My vote is for the ABHUMANS! For my big jolly bodyguards of course.
Abhumans!
I love that the squats are back, and I'd love to see an episode on the abhumans
I’d love the video on the rouge traders, but it would be cool to get it after the game comes out so it’s as extensive as possible
I like the new studio design!
Hope you are happy with it and are doing well! Don’t stop doing what you’re doing :)
Would love to see Rogue Traders finally get some love too.
Jürgen must be spoken about in the next episode, which will be a Ciaphus Cain video.
Counter Argument: A league of only Dwarven Women is possible we just haven't seen them yet.
Correct
counter argument: all the robots have scottish accents but with a robotic undertone. (also lady robots could also be a thing right?)
The Orks haven't seen them so they are the stealth units 😂
the darven woman all wears purple, that's why he don't see them X)
There ARE models for female Kin/Squats, they just don't appear as short-stack sexy fantasy dwarf women, they basically look like the men, but with slightly smoother features and no beard. In fact you can see one in the video, at 41:22, the one in the left hand side of the picture, THAT is a Space Dwarf woman
The fact that Koda sang diggy diggy hole in the beginning has made my entire night complete!
WE'RE RICH 😂😂😂😂
Rogue traders are great, would love to see you cover them!
👍
Love the new setup (especially the blahaj), we made it out of the basement
Voting forRogue Traders
Seeing as the game is coming out...I vote abhumans. I want you to tell Koda about thw felynids.
28:32 also apparently their souls are created in the cloning process as well, so there not very bright in the warp, But they do HAVE souls. The Ad Mec would kill to have that tech as well
Not really heresy either
Rock and Stone!!! And could you please cover the Blood Ravens?
Gotta say, started listening for about 3 weeks now, been tearing through these podcasts between here and spotify, might even do pateron just for the exclusive episodes.
Anyway, love the new set! Can't wait to see it fill out some more!
You should do the Alpha Legion for April Fools.
The ikea shark, porsche 911 and dwarves? Shit I'll listen to this 5 times
I have returned to this video from the new warp video to try to find the parts of the song Diggy Diggy hole that have been hidden. I feel like this has been planned by Tzeentch
"skin made of iron, steel in their bones" found one
"raising picks and voices together"
"they'll go into the deep with zero fear of what they find beneath"
Literally just the words "Diggy doggy hole"
Video finished, I feel like a got most of them, let me know if I missed any
ROGUE TRADERS DO ROGUE TRADERS I LOVE ROGUE TRADERS
with the game coming out its suuuuuch good timing. The algorithm would love it and i think youd get a lot more hits than usual on the video. I absolutely love rogue traders and cannot wait for the game. I have my own rogue trader called Dr. T, a time traveler
Spoiler: The N7 hoody did make a return
I've seen a lot of your guys shorts, but I'm glad to watch a full episode. Can't tell you how happy I was when the votann were announced, im dead set on them being the faction I horde. ROCK AND STONE BROTHERS!
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BOOOONE
I get it now, only been into Warhammer like 3 years and when these guys came out I didn't get it but I get it now, they're rad, when I'm done getting my nids and nightlords these guys will be my army I get serious about
The most shafted faction lore wise, they get squatted and after they return their lack of books and immediate nerf on the tabletop just shoved them into irrelevancy again
Don't lie, that nerf was justified.
@@JV-iv9ml justified, but unfortunate it had to happen at all
Things I'd love GW to do with their lore:
- Expand on the Demiurg ships.
- Show us how scary the galactic core is.
idk what to say mr Isyander and mr Koda
I binged everything, almost everything, it’s legit really helped thru a really bad breakup this past couple weeks, I’m really hungover rn and I’m repping Texas and I need a genestealer episode
ROCK AND STONE LADS!
Someone HAS to find the mad core. That's how we'll get the Chaos Dwarves out of Fantasy and into the future.
Heroes of the Imperium. The Ghosts deserve their own episode.
Rule 34 can not be stopped.
Love both ideas. I love my ogryns on one hand. On the other hand I don't know mutch about the Rouge traders.
9:45 - nope, that is Snyder. He can do graphics from the paper but not on his own. Get over it...
The little roast/compliment from Isyander was great.
I appreciate this episode, it helps me get into considering getting into the Leagues of Votann sold around my place
The best interpretation I've heard for STCs is that they're not just the blueprint to make something, they're the blueprint and then further blueprints and semi-AI generated info on the tooling, factory infrastructure, and resource requirements to manufacture an item
Love the blahaj in the back! Love your content, keep up the good work!!! If I had money, I would totally join your patreon.
Other than my wife, y'alls weekly uploads are the only thing keeping me mentally afloat rn - I subbed on Patreon but due to recent things I can't right now, but I'm so excited for the backlog of content that's building until I can! Love the content, the pacing, y'all are absolutely the best source for me for WH40K content, because I love how Isyander is teaching to Koda who knows marginally more than I do, and comes from that same perspective - Y'all are great, and have made this year bearable for me, I'm gonna try and sub again before Christmas
The votuun use tech that essentially is what created space marines, krieg vitawombs, and use men of iron ontop of ai to mutate themselves as tools. I think it'd be interesting to see more about them and the tau.
I love when writers create an original founding for fantasy races like dwarfs and elves. Personally, my favorites are those done by parabellum in Conquest: laok. Really cool designs and concepts
Grats on the new studio . It looks great ! Also rogue traders slap .
33:48 made me really happy because my name is Phil
Yogscast reference in the first minute.
My current favorite podcast.
You guys are great.
Love the video! Watched the whole thing while lifting at the gym. Just now learning about 40k but I’m all in on the leagues now!
I am voting Rogue Trader, not just for my benefit, but the channel's. I figure releasing a video about rogue traders around the same time as a video game about them comes out is bound to make the video attract much more attention.
Love what you guys do. Keep being awesome. ❤️
Ooo I missed this the first time round. My favourite bit of Votann lore is they mine Tyranid Hive Ships for fun materials, wearing them down with drones and ironkyn to not give the nids biomass.
Honestly quite happy they have returned, dwarf in space are fun and the thought of seeing one of those land Train fortresses they used planetside would be epic
Day Gamma of asking for the Adeptus Costudes: Standing Vigilant all 5'5 of humble me
The Leagues have instantly become my favourite faction. Their design and lore is my thing 110%
Rogue Traders! They've got a decree from the Emperor to have the next episode!
Congrats on the 100k guys!!!
Didn't know about the league and i loved this intro to them.
Hoping to see the Rogue traders!!!
I love how in warhammer anything to do with tec eventually comes around to toasters like even after all this time we know the majesty of the simple toaster
