Ive turned my GT24TR into a Subaru rally car by just changing out body, body posts and wheels/tires. Now, this is interesting.....with the truggy tires, on 2s lipo I had the typical slipper clutch issues. Using the Subaru rally wheels and tires, there is NO slipper clutch issue at all! I guess a better traction issue.
Thanks for your help on these mods. I have a truggy and love it. I got the hardest springs and that helps alot. Metal wheel nuts are a must. I also added some sticker weights to the underside of the body to give some stabilizing weight to it on rougher terrain. Will likely order the Shapeway bumper too. (broke a number of a-arms). Thinking of the subby (my life long dream car) in the build kit version. Little concerned about lipo power acceptability and control, and the frequency of rolls and crashes due to narrow wheel base and limited suspension compared to my truggy.
Hi, I got a GT24 mine didn't come with any tools and I can't get my wheels off. Are the nuts 4mm? Or 5? What tools do you use? Thanks for any help you can give
I'm thinking about getting one of these. But I'm concerned about replacement parts. How well do they hold up? And have you had to get replacement parts? How easy were they to come by and where did you have to get them?
They have shops online from places like eBay, super inexpensive ($2 for an an arm ) I ordered a handful of each part and just filled up a shoe box. They sell every part. I bash the heck out of these and just finally wore out an a arm cup. Main thing that breaks is the wing and wing mount if you land upside down. Buy the big truck tires and wheels
@@JumpmanJRH Hi Ryan. Actually, I am going to get the clear subby body, take it to a friend who works in a body shop, have him cut it in half, widen it by 1.33" and use stiff body work tape to connect the two half, then paint it. Scale will be off some, but wider stance will be more stable and truggy suspension will have more travel and use all my spares for my truggy when needed.
@@seth9537 If it were me, I would buy a Subaru body and a Rally body, and trim the fenders off the rally to glue to the Subaru body to create a sort of wide-body kit for the Subaru body. Seems better to me then splitting the Subaru body up?
@@JumpmanJRH Good idea Ryan, except considering the subby wheels are 1/4 inch less wide on each side compared to the truggy wheels, the body still needs to be 1" wider. Do you think I can get a 1/2" of fender off each side of the older rally body?
wheelbase will be wrong, the carisma gt24 chassis, exception of the truggy which is slightly longer due too the a arms angles is 119 mm unfortunately, though worth saving up for one of these little cars.

Yeah I love the subby, it handles great, it does have a limit where it will roll a little more easily, but it is still loads of fun.
Thanks pal she run smooth again top mod
I just got 2 of these the motor mount keeps moving when I crash then the pinion wears down lol pls put a link for the parts liked and subscribed 👍👊

where can I find a spring for the slipper clutch? Mine psrung off while trying to put on clip.
Thanks for the video! Looking to grab one of these rally’s soon. Major difference in this mod? Any other mods you recommend?
Is there a way to stop sand/debris from getting stuck In the steering links? Not much a "rally" rc..
Cant really find an answer it seems you are in the know....are these water resistant like the crawlers Carisma makes?
What do you use to remove the wheel on your cars as the wheels are too deep for anything I can find
Thank you for video. 👍👍👍
do some slippers slip more then others? because mine on 2s slips really really bad when ever I give it full throttle
Just built the buggy kit. I couldnt get the c clamp on the drive shaft. Is that bad? What does the rubber washer do exactly?
I know it says rubber but any chance they aren’t neoprene? When I search this part number neoprene shows up.
Do you recommend a battery upgrades for the gt24 rally Subaru? I feel like it’s a pretty small battery.
Can I get link for them metel shocks for Subaru please
Do you think the Subaru body fits the rally build kit? I don't think it does.
I can test that out, but my thoughts are the Subaru body will be too narrow for the rally.

Also, adding the subby wheels/tires.
