When I back mine up for the first time, I’m going to print a 1/24 scale version of my wife and just imagine that she’s yelling at me from outside while I’m trying to back up to really get the most realistic effect.
The sound of getting shocked every time a cone was hit had be laughing! Nice attempt at being a master backer! Cool looking little rig. Glad to see Axial now has a trailer.
I just picked up the green one. I'm more of a static model builder than a true rc crawler enthusiast. So I plan to buy a new power wagon body kit (about $40) and paint it in the more modern US Forest Service seafoam green with white accents. I may make a few chassis mods, but realism is my top priority. I think I will also put some scale firewood in the bed, maybe a 1/24 chainsaw. Love the channel! Thanks for the content!
It's a great looking truck, but i was a little disappointed to see the scx24 platfrom hasnt really changed. Some great features compared to previous scx24's, but maybe not when compared with other small scale trucks on the market. Not hating on it, though. I think the green one is beautiful and the proline parts are a nice upgrade. Great video, thanks 👍
This. This right here is the one. I have been holding off on buying an SCX24 until features like the ones mentioned were added, and I am SO glad Axial delivered. Though the motor is definitely a concern, it's nothing a little Furitek magic can't fix. Great video as always!
My thoughts exactly. This checks all the boxes. The forest service green one looks excellent. Thankfully mofo RC makes a direct bolt in motor upgrade for like $15. Pre wired, even has the screws in the right place so you don’t need a new transmission plate.
as a former class one driver in my younger years, I've got more miles backwards than most have going forward. The trick to trailer backing is to position the part of the vehicle closest to where you wanna be to start with. Means you drive at an intersect to the spot (like you would with your car in a normal parking lot, leaving enough room for the rear end swing of the trailer, don't want to rip a refer/heater unit off a trailer or something) and turn tight out from the spot you want to back into leaving the back of the trailer as close to the spot as possible. 3 scale feet is HUGE by scale comparison, which in a 1:1 is way more than enough room to get yourself into a lot of trouble(toy craft trailer or commercial), secret to backing a trailer is to work smarter not harder. With more practice you will get the angles down :) smaller the trailer the harder it is to back. HAHA Imagine backing out of traffic into a spot like that with a semi with crappy car drivers trying to pass with zero regard for the 150,000lb vehicle with many many blind spots, who is working and just trying to get out of everyone's way while being interrupted by said crappy drivers who would easily be turned into road pizza with a slight blip of the throttle with not so much as a speedbump for feedback to the driver and the sound of metal crunching and glass shattering, totally have watched that happen before. Way more concentration involved, but backing the trailer eventual becomes like breathing for some, and all you really need to worry about more so is the above required defensive driving.
Ha! I agree about the kids, not about the 24ths. They're great for people that like to take them hiking and also for anyone that wants to play indoors during the long winter months!
Great looking Power Wagon from Axial! Love the trailer too! Way to go Axial! Hilarious that you got Harley Designs Orange, and Josh got the OD Green! 😅 I do like both colors, but I am going to go with the Orange one, and trailer too! The third try is the best line in that course.
Was anyone else hoping Matt’s wife would walk out as he was trying to back his toy trailer on his toy trailer backing course and just visibly question her life decisions? Also Harley Designs orange was a nice descriptive touch. I love how Axial always sends you the orange models and not him. It’s the little things. 😂 Great vid as always my man!
Hahaha! She told me she looked out the back window and shook her head, so not far off the mark. Thanks for watching... and yes, I love that they sent me the orange and him the green!
Still waiting on kit version of a 1/24, perhaps without a body, specifically marketed to 1/25 model car builders(perhaps with a couple of wheelbase options out of the box?). Perhaps I'm asking for too much... But it sure would be cool.
I think the trailer sold me. I'd rather see a wider wheel base on the trailer to help with that issue of driving up the cool little ramps they added. Also, the electrical aspect. Having a way to connect it to the pulling vehicle would be cool so you didn't need a power source on the trailer itself. Just more realistic aspects is all. Otherwise a very cool setup.
I heard about the colour choice in the live stream take over. And both of your comments about it didn't disappointed. But yours with "this nice harley design orange" wins. 😂
When I get mine first upgrade will be an injora red motor and a better servo along with removing that bumper and high clearance links.thanks for the video🙌
What a beast, congratulations! You know I had my Tmaxx out tonight after running my Xmaxx and Maxx and I’m telling you the Tmaxx put a huge smile on my face. I wish Traxxas would throw us a bone and give us a wide maxx kit that fits the Tmaxx. Thank you for your dedication to this fantastic hobby!
I know the last was way off subject, but I was just so happy running a nitro again. I had out it away for the last couple of months because it’s just been too hot out to run it.
I wonder where they got the trailer idea? Why does that bed rack look familiar? Traxxas must have done good with the trx4m and trx4 sport kit. Good job reversing and cool video
I have a commercial Tractor Trailer license. And a Trx4m w/trailer. IMO backing up a big rig w/trailer is way easier than backing up an RC with a trailer.🤔
Im ditching the body for a lexan powerwagon. Nice thought on the oil filled shocks, but i think they are the reason its a roll over rover. At least its notover priced.
Your problem backing up is that your over steering. You have a short wheebase over all. Backing a 53' trailer is way easer due to the long wheelbase of the trailer. Your backing up a snowmobiel trailer. You sound like your grom canada so if im right id think you may have done this in real life. If you stand behind the trailer you will do better, but tiny wheel movements. Seeing as your not getting points for a pullup make them. Next make a square on the driveway. Back up all the way around. Master that both right and left. Make the square bigger. Make a figure 8, and fater easy strech the 8. It will get easer as you go.
The real problem with this rig is the size. I dig the small scale RC, I got a Gladiator and Yeti Jr, then I realized they're too damn small for big hands and bad eyes. So, yeah, when they release a new 1/10 like this, I'll consider another Axial purchase.
Definitely like this power wagon , because I like some speed , The 1st upgrade I would do is the furitek Brusless set up as you said ... Nice Truck , Great review , Thanks Matt
@@scalebuildersguild I hear you! We got snow on the Uinta mountains this weekend! I'm only at 5.5 k ft. So it just rained but I'm surrounded by 10K + mountains in every direction.
I appreciate you sharing S, gives me some practice ideas, love that trailer and the four-door power wagon that is pretty awesome. But right now my money is tied up in my rat rod from RC every day it is bad to the bone

I freaking love the 4 door power wagon!!
A driving tip. Hold the steering wheel at the bottom and turn to that direction you want the trailer to go.
Bingo!!!!
10th scale would be cool, 6th scale would be even cooler

Maybe a back-up camera, lol! 😉 Great looking new rig, easily the best SCX24 to date. And that trailer?! Axial is killing it in this scale! 😉
Good job Axial and good job, Matt for showing it to us. Every time I see a trailer in reverse I get a certain Juvenile song in my head.

funny rhing with the scx24s is ive never run a stock motor before😂 ive always swapped it out for a purple injora motor haha
Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy it!
It’s a beaut!! Wish it was 1/10 scale ! Very nice either way !!
This one, between licensed hard body, accessories, oil shocks, upgraded electronics, tires, trailer, it sure checks a lot of boxes (except motor)
Agreed!
My thoughts exactly. This checks all the boxes. The forest service green one looks excellent. Thankfully mofo RC makes a direct bolt in motor upgrade for like $15. Pre wired, even has the screws in the right place so you don’t need a new transmission plate.

Definitely want to pickup the trailer... I've got a gladiator and the k10... could have some excellent fun at work with the 24s now
For me 24ths are like kids…. Super cute and fun to play with as long as there someone else’s 😂😂😂

I got both of these yesterday. (Green truck). Gonna pull them with my aqua K-10. Don't wanna wear out the Super Swampers on the road.
Well done Axial. I think this is the one that checked enough for me to get a 1/24 rig.
Same here.
Same here as well. I haven't even considered this scale before.

Indeed
Swing by the actual Scale Builder's Guild forum. Some absolutely amazing builds.
1/10 is normal???

I'm gonna have to get both, hot damn! that 4 door power wagon body looks so good and I need a little trailer anyways, that amazon one sucks
You're cool as hell. I don't care what anybody says. Really love love the channel. Got to do a Power wagon challenge 🤔👌💪
Thanks man! My wife hates my new hat.
Good video. I like how you got the orange one because of Josh. LOL orange is also my favorite color for a vehicle.
Great video as usual. Literally the trailer skill I expected from someone who owns a Volvo! Lol Thanks for all the content.
😂 I literally have no trailer skill!
I need a few hats like that in general but especially for work 😂
Hi Mat. Great to see them making Hardbodies now, BUT still not 1/10 scale ;-) Great day in Canada
I see that you picked up a graphic and sound effect since hanging out with Tomley. Nice! 👍🏽
Great review on a cool looking truck.
Ha, I've seen him and others use the same for when they hit an object, definitely had to incorporate it. Thanks for watching!
Dude, I was concentrating as hard as you! Great video!

Expert trailer backer upper guy 👍
I quite enjoyed the challenge at the end. Well done, sir! 👍✌️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Longer trailers are easier to backup!!🤟🏿🤟🏿
Awesome set-up! Could you do a video off-roading the trailer with the crawler on it, thanks
If I get the time!

Small steering input will make backing easy
I wonder where they got the trailer idea? Why does that bed rack look familiar?
Traxxas must have done good with the trx4m and trx4 sport kit.
Good job reversing and cool video
Close enough for jazz 👍🏼
I have a commercial Tractor Trailer license.
And a Trx4m w/trailer.
IMO backing up a big rig w/trailer is way easier than backing up an RC with a trailer.🤔
Ha!
Imagine if Axial & FMS collaborated… 😊
That would be something I’d very much approve of!
Not a bad idea. I just happen to have a set of fcx24 axles not up to anything in particular
I hope they scale this up to the SCX10 III size, and perhaps offer the hard body for the Gladiator.

Tiny corrections are key. I mean tiny. Also don't hit the gas until you know your wheels are in the right direction. Ive backed up a few trailers.
Thanks for the tips!
I’m now really considering both and an ax24😬
Both
Now time to chop it up to build Matt’s Worlds Largest Off-road Wrecker
Just got the Jeep JLU last week.... Now I gotta get the new one!😂
Still no signs of an SCX24 Tacoma. :(
BUT, if they put all that fancy new stuff on one ...
It looks like me and my hydraulic bike trailer, backing up between my neighbors. Kind of a 25 moves for 70 ft... :)
Let's see how it's going to handle the infamous Reactive Terrain course.
The body is a bit goofy looking. I like the upgrades but you cant beat the realism of the JLU body
It's an exact replica of a real Dodge Power Wagon. And I'll take a hard body any day over Lexan.

You mentioned upgrading to the feritech motor and ESC. What about the Spektrum Brushless motor and ESC combo?
Also an option, but I don't have any first-hand experience with that one unfortunately.
Go Furitek all the way over the Spectrum brushless.
I can definitely see myself getting both even though I do not need them

Trailer just needs a winch for all the broken razorbacks now.
I bought both! Love them!
Glad you like them!
You mentioned dropping in a Furitek brushless system.
Does the TX/RX have an open plug to skip the built-in ESC, or will we need a new RX?
The old ones functioned that way, but in my last one I just tossed a new receiver in to work with my radio.
You hit two cones back there. Those could have been people; they could have been guests at her wedding!”
“They were cones!”

Does the trailer fit the TRX4m hitch? That would be great.
