You’re wrong. Today is the best time for music. You have the entire library of music at your disposal. Any song can be listened to now. You don’t have to wait for it to play on the radio. You don’t have to wait until you get home to play vinyl. You don’t have the interruption of an 8 track slowing down. And what’s wrong with auto tune and amp modelers? They are just tools. They can be used in different ways. Some ways appeal to you, some don’t. Just like acoustic and electric guitar. So stop being such a disgruntled boomer and learn to enjoy and appreciate the technology we have.

Today's "popular" music is garbage, lyrics written at s 3rd grade level with no depth.

Can you point me to any moment in this video where he plays a wrong note? You can't, because there is none. Just because he uses more than the pentatonic scale doesn't mean it's wrong or out of key. Saw him last night at the Ryman in Nashville, the original Grand Old Opry venue. 2500 seats and I have a new found respect for Sammy. Loves what he does and it shows, hasn’t lost a step, and voice has held up remarkably. No ego, glad to share the stage and Bob Weir joined him for a couple of tunes. He still rocks, but is the same age as Sammy, and looks old enough to be his father! Forgot how much he is a part of the music history of my life. He is inspirational and I mean that sincerely. Saw Hagar twice in my younger "On Fire" days. First time was in 74 when Montrose and Foghat, opened for J Geils. Second time was in 1980 when Hagar was a solo act playing at the very first Roklahoma in Norman, OK. He, Pat Benatar, Van Halen, and The Doobie Brothers played at the south endzone on Owen Field. It was September in Oklahoma, and God was it hot. They had a first aid tent set up on the 50 yard line, and as people passed out from the heat, they would be carried to the tent for aid, and if needed, they would send them to the hospital in an ambulance. My wife and several friends sat up in the shade of the press box and drank adult beverages watching the entire thing unfold. Great memories.

I've seen him several times as just Sammy Hagar. I didn't know he sang for Ronnie Montrose until years later .As far as his Van Halen gig was concerned, it was all good rock n roll but I think they should've either kept it strictly ( Sammy Hagar/ Van Halen) or they should have let Sammy do some of his original work live with the band. Why??? Because Sammy couldn't play his music or play his guitar but he had to sing the songs that they wrote for David Lee Roth. Total bullshit. Just before Sammy joined Van Halen he put out a song called " Remember The Heroes " about our war veterans. If you havnt heard it your missing out on who Sammy Hagar is.

As great as the music was, and I am glad they came together and made all of that money, it wasn't Sammie, and it wasn't Van Halen. At least with respect to these two groups, I've remained a purist - and the stuff apart stands on its own, and my favorites. Sammie is a accomplished guitarist, and did give up a lot of his creativity and ability to express himself with VH. The child they created together was amazing, but just not for me.
