i remember when i was going 85 in a 50 in my '14 GT like 3 years ago...when the state trooper pulled me over i was blaring this song and when he went to give me back my license he just looked at me with this big smile on his face and said "great song man! now keep your speed down and have a nice day" out of respect for him i definitely stopped going that fast on that stretch of road!

Unfortunately, after getting to tool around in it for only ten months, a jackass in a three ton farm flatbed ran a stop sign on me and I never even had the chance to touch the brakes. Around 1985-1986 someone defaced a 55 MPH speed limit sign exactly like the one at the end of the video. It was on the Garden State parkway in NJ around mile marker 135 +/- 5 or so. It took them a year to replace it. Not too long after, the 55 MPH limit law was revoked nationwide. Good Job Sammy!

Hagar said that at one point in his life he was paying $125,000 in car insurance because of 36 speeding tickets and multiple suspensions of license.

I was a senior in high school and driving a 1970 GTO convertible with a 400CI, 4bbl, 375 HP, ram air factory engine when the national speed limit got dropped to 55. I would have been BLASTING this song every time I pulled out of the driveway! I still push down on the accelerator every time it comes on now almost fifty years later. 8-)

Unfortunately, after getting to tool around in it for only ten months, a jackass in a three ton farm flatbed ran a stop sign on me and I never even had the chance to touch the brakes. I was doing something north of 50 mph when I tee-boned him. I managed to pry the fender wells out enough to be able to limp it home but the damage was just too severe to be repaired...especially when they discovered the frame was bent in two places. I took the insurance settlement and replaced it with a '69 Catalina convertible that I drove for the next twelve years.

Around 1985-1986 someone defaced a 55 MPH speed limit sign exactly like the one at the end of the video. It was on the Garden State parkway in NJ around mile marker 135 +/- 5 or so. It took them a year to replace it. Not too long after, the 55 MPH limit law was revoked nationwide. Good Job Sammy!
