Herrington Arms HC320 Compensator Install || Sig P320 xCompact

- Hey everyone. In this video I am showing how to install Herrington Arms HC320 compensator for the Sig P320 xCompact.
-
I haven’t seen a lot of videos out there that shows the installation process for the P320 platform; although it’s very simple and easy, I figured I’d make a video for future reference.
-
For those who have been following me, I know you see the major changes/differences with the P320. I will be making a follow up video detailing all the changes that I’ve made, and future changes to come. I’m really excited about this and can not wait to get to the range to see the performance with this compensator.

Why would you use lock tight you have to take the compensator off to clean the gun.
That’s like suggesting anyone should just leave their zipper down because eventually they’ll have to pee
I dont think you known anything about a compensator. I bet you Sig does not put lock tight on the one they sale.
Because this isn’t the compensator that Sig sold me..
Clearly you missed the part in this video where I stated: per Herrington Arms instructions *proceeds to show instructions* - you are to put locktite on the set screws and on the threaded barrel. Now I don’t blame you if you missed that part where I said that because im well aware that there are people who don’t listen to understand, they just listen to respond and argue and make statements without the intention of using opportunities to educate.

This isn’t only for you, so don’t feel special (I’m very engaging in the comment section) but this is more so for any new viewers that are interested in the HC320 compensator by Herrington Arms. I’ll pin this comment. Thanks.
you don't need to take the barrel out to clean it. just take the slide off. remove the recoil spring and tilt the barrel down to clean it out.
I’m so glad you made the video. I was thinking this is it took to add the comp, but now I know for sure.
No problem. I am grateful that you got the info needed! Lmk what you think of the comp. Mines is still running strong
@@TerribleShooter I still have to get it. I just needed some background on it to attach it.
Now I know I can make it work.
When I do, I'll let you know..
It'll be on the "XCarry"
What an EXCELLENT video. Everything is on point to the tee. I subbed because you took your time, demonstrated what to do, and especially with the recoil spring. Lol. I laughed so hard at that part because I know a lot of us had that issue. God bless bro.
Hey man, my compensator on the way from Herrington-your video was super helpful! Just wondering, is it really worth it? Will I feel the recoil reduction? Also, what’s the best way to clean off the blue glue from the two screws? Thanks again
It does make a hell of difference. You won’t be disappointed. I just used a napkin to wipe off the excess loc-tite. You don’t have to use a lot like I did lol. Enjoy man!
@@TerribleShooter thanks brother ✌🏼✌🏼
I've been looking into parts to grab for my p320xc which I want to be my first pistol and a comp is definitely one of them. I just had no idea how to install them. I'm gonna head down to my lgs soon and see if I could get an idea on if the standard grip module is one I like or if I gotta add it to the aftermarket list. Awesome video!
You won’t regret it!
I experimented with an o ring on threaded barrel instead of lock tite and tightened set screws. After shooting one screw was loose but comp stayed in place. Will try again and check the screws 👍
What size rubber o ring? I’ve got a gun that has a thread protector and while shooting it tends to slightly unthread and I’ve heard a high temp rubber o ring could help fix it.. just not sure what size to get
great video, this is exactly what I am looking for. I have a P320 XFull and have a OEM threaded barrel part, there isn't OCE Compensator available right now, so I would probably choose same Herrington compensator(would do another round of researching before project).
Herrington Arms has a newer compensator. They came out with a double port. Looks sick.
@@TerribleShooter Great! I found that , absolutely beautiful on that FDE Cerakote.
What holster do you use with the comp?
Great video btw
Thank you. I am currently using Tier 1 Concealed for IWB and I am using T Rex Arms Ragnorok OWB and a Safariland lvl 3 OWB holster.
Thx for instruction video. Straight to the point. One ?... when you threaded the comp on the barrel, did the barrel fit flush or was some of the barrel overhanging in comp?
The barrel will protrude slightly. You’ll see 2 threads from the barrel when your overlooking the top of the comp. The barrel that I am using is from Sig Sauers site btw. And glad the video was helpful.
Thanks for the video I have the compensator on order and looking to put on my P320 XCOMPACT RXP
You’ll love this thing. Trust me.
Excellent video.. I will add that anyone who has a Springfield XDM Elite OSP Tactical can also use this same Compensator..
Thank you
Most compensators are caliber specific, not firearm specific. Though if you want similar design architecture and it to look like it's supposed to be apart of the pistol, you need to hunt a bit. Theoretically you should be able to put this on nearly any 9mm caliber pistol you desire.
2 years later, how's it holding up?
update pls
I just got one of these p320 I love it
This is the way
So , I have same setup . I noticed there’s barely a gab between the slide and comp. I haven’t shot mind yet . Have you experienced any issues with the slide and comp been so closed ?
No issues
Very nice, if you get a full modular frame the comp will become integrated and will be flush. That's what I plan to do.
I’d have to consider that, assuming it’ll fit my current holsters
Awesome video. I’m planning a build myself. Using the p320 compact slide; which threaded barrel did you use? Compact, carry , full etc?
Xcompact threaded barrel. Refer to previous comments so you can look for the exact same barrel.
Great vid, I’m going to be doing almost this exact setup but with an X-carry legion, delta point pro and a x300 u with the comp, looks good brother
Appreciate it
@@TerribleShooter do you iwb with the 17’s or the 21’s?
21s 😭😭
Actually looking at the exact comp for my p320x compact. Except i'm also waiting for my optics plate so I can mount my trijicon SRO!
Sounds like a plan - and trijicon is a solid choice.
How does your sig not have you remove the rear sights to put an optic. my sig x compact I have to remove the rear sights
Ready optic slide - that’s how it came.
*mild panic attack over not wiping off excess Loctite*
Is the space between the barrel and the opening on the comp supposed to be there ?
Yes
@@TerribleShooter ok thanks I have one second hand and was nervous , it’s amazing the bullet and shoot through the gap that consistently ! How does it preform ?
The consistency on follow up shots is A1. I do swap the grip modules sometimes (Xcompact & Full Size) you’d think the smaller grip module being the Xcompact would be a little snappy bc the size but the compensator still makes for nice flat shooting experience. And with The bigger grip module, the recoil is almost non existent.
Chill on the locktigh lol wow
Do the set screws dig into to threaded part of the barrel?
No
@@TerribleShooter thank you for the reply!
Don’t you just love it when a UA-camr actually reads and replies to his or her comments, that’s great and helpful.
How does the comp effect future cleaning of the gun? Shouldn’t really matter that much since you still have access to the inside of the barrel and can still take the slide off. Do you just plan on leaving the comp on when you clean it?
It doesn’t change the process when it comes to cleaning- as long as you don’t make it complicated. I’d recommend using the snake bore for the barrel.
I’ve taken off the comp for other reasons than to clean it - but i don’t think I will be taking off the comp for that specific reason (cleaning).
Hey. Looking at how you got that x300 on that x compact grip
Hacks
Gonna be doing the same thing but on my Walther PDP
Nice
Did you also have to replace the recoil spring and what not?
I’d recommend doing so. At first I experienced some ejection failures but that was at the time of this video. I haven’t since then. Mind you, I didn’t change the spring. It could have been ammo. Can’t call it. But I’ve been shooting 115g MagTech and the compensator has been FLAWLESS.
I have the p320 xcompact did you have to purchase a barrel or is that the same barrel that comes with the gun? I was told that comp reduces recoil alot. So that's going to be my last mod
Yes. I had to get a threaded barrel.
getting one tomorrow in the mail. how do you like shooting it?
It is great.
Yea, it shot great for me too, less felt recoil, more accurate and loud. But jams every other shot on some ammo.
Just double checking, fully stock P320 X-Compact besides light & optics with the 4.3 LCI Sig Threaded Barrel and Herrington Arms P320 Compensator right?
What size barrel are you running?
4.3 xcompact threaded barrel LCI (don’t know what the LCI stands for)
Are you able to remove the compensator later for cleaning and or part replacement? Is it difficult? How often do you clean your p320? Thanks in advance for your time
Not the OP obviously but yea you should be able to, it's just blue loctite. Though it can get carbon locked. Other comps have you use rocksett with shimms.. those you'll never get off
Yup
Nice setup bro, hows it holding up?? Looking into a comp right now but the HC320 is sold out :(
Thanks - I am not surprised that they sold out. It’s a great comp, and it looks fantastic. They do have a newer version of the HC320. It has 2 ports instead of 1. Maybe you can go with that option if it isn’t sold out as well.
@@TerribleShooter Yeah i was gonna go with the dual port and yeah, sold out lol. All good though, exploring more comps/barrels! Prolly gonna go with the Killer Innovation comp/barrel. Thanks for the reply :)
Hey don’t mention it. I was about to mention Killer Innovations as well but your already on it. Sounds good. 🤝
I tried the Herrington Arms two port comp on a Sig P365, it doesn’t like the Winchester Range and Training 115 grain white box FMJ ammo. Jams every other shot, failure to eject. The Federal 115 grain FMJ ran fine tho. Is there a remedy for this FTE problem, I wouldn’t want it jamming on my defense ammo.
@@ShawnGS300 maybe try a different spring? Ive seen some comps require a downgrade in spring tension.
Awesome video ive been looking for a comp build like this. Quick question: Do you carry this iwb? Im trying to get this comp to go along with a TLR8AG but im not sure anyone makes a iwb holster that can support the extra inch and some change that it the comp add on. Thanks again
Check out my Tier 1 concealed video. I’m carrying a comp, surefire x300, and a RDS with mags that have 3/5+ baseplates.
@@TerribleShooter just watched it. Thanks bro exactly what I was looking for.
🤝
Would this also work for the P320 M18 model?
So do you have to use the 4.3 inch barrel on the Xcompact slide or can you get by with the 4.6. It’s almost impossible finding a 4.3 OEM barrel from Sig in stock let alone under 230
You’ll have to consider how far the barrel will stick out of the slide. I’d check other retailers to see if they have the 4.3 option.
please can you share to me the size of your barrel. I'm trying to do the same setup and want to make sure the size of the barrel
Does this comp fit on the x macro once you have a threaded barrel?
Very helpful thanks man!
Hey no problem!
I recently got my parts together and it seems like there is more of a gap, almost a whole rotation of let off that I need to have otherwise I cannot get the slide to rack back it scrapes the top of the barrel.
What are the accessories that you ordered?
You ever figure this out. I have this comp and sigs 4.3 threaded barrel. The slide has more resistance starting about halfway back. This lrevents a proper ejection
Did you have to change your recoil spring after adding the Comp?
I’d recommend doing so. You will have misfeeds here and there but it’s not often. I’m In the process of looking up a good spring to resolve this issue.. OR you could get heavier grain ammo.. +P or something
@@TerribleShooter this is exactly what I'm trying to figure out without buying 20 different springs. Any experience with 124 and up?
Unfortunately, not yet. I am getting around to it. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to order some. Opticsplanet.com has some good deals. 200rds for 99.99 and that’s the 147gr by Winchester - if your interested.
I tried the Herrington Arms two port comp on a Sig P365, it doesn’t like the Winchester Range and Training 115 grain white box FMJ ammo. Jams every other shot, failure to eject. The Federal 115 grain FMJ ran fine tho. Is there a remedy for this FTE problem?
I wouldn’t want it jamming on my defense ammo. Let me know what springs you had success with?
@@TerribleShooterGet a dpm system recoil system! That what got for my p229 legion and i have a armory craft comp on it
Just got theHC320 xl. Doesn’t have the side ports like this model. Installing on a x5 legion, should a flat shooting son of a gun 😁
What length barrel did you get? I've seen different ones for the xcompact and want to make sure I get the right one.
P320 Xcompact threaded barre LCI 4.3in. Assuming you have the xcompact slide..
Sweet. I think I will do this to mine.
You won’t regret it
Hey, would this compensator work on an m18? Just wondering.
What barrel do you have?
Nice job thank you
Sure thing - no problem
What barrel is that?
did you have to run a different spring?
Yeah. You have to get a different guide rod and spring.
Great info. Thanks
Where did you get the threaded barrel for the x compact
All your questions answered in the video. I’d start with the revised version.
What length barrel did you go with? Any issues with the slide hitting the comp?
4.3 threaded barrel. And no issues.
Holy locktite lol.
Needed this haha
I thought the set screws remove the need for locktite.
Per instructions, you use locktite on the set screws
what barrel length are you using?
How do you not clean up the excess thread lock material?
Sig was thirsty
How much length did the compensator add to your gun.
1 inch.. but no one is judging
Will it work if you use a barrel not from sig
There are other companies that make threaded barrels for the P320
I’ve heard good things from Zaffiri Precision and Killer Innovations
@@Reaper0886 Yup
What rubber barrel o-ring?
?
@@TerribleShooter step 1 on the instructions
What threaded barrel did you use with your xcompact? What length or manufacturer did you go with?
P320 XCOMPACT THREADED BARREL LCI - 4.3IN. Straight from Sig Sauers website
I’m not trying to be that guy, but that’s waaaay too much loctite on the barrel. You need a literal drop on one part of the threads, when you put the comp on it’ll spread that one drop around the entire contact surface.
How does it shoot?
Shoots really good. No complaints.
I have a Xcompact and ordered a Sig threaded barrel from their sight and my Comp will not come close to the slide. Over a 1/8 " gap . I have 4 other comps also and all of them won't even come close to the slide. 250 for a factory threaded barrel and they make them way to long. This is pitiful of Sid. Definately not worth the money,
How does this explain what’s done and what is illustrated in the video? Sounds like user error to me; respectfully.
I did have to do some double checking and research to make sure what I ordered was correct for me to get these attachments installed properly. It’s not difficult at all.
way too much loctite there bro, especially on those set screws, LOL
Heavy foot, heavy on the seasoning, heavy on the back hand slap.. heavy on the loctite.. PSI says 32, I go 33-35..
I’ve taken this thing off and put back on multiple times. No issues. It’s not that serious, LOL
Good video of installation but bro you use waaaaay to much Locktite!! 🤣
Lol I gotta heavy hand
lmfao. what are you doing and why are you making how-to vids ?
Do these comps come with shims to use?
No; per Herrington Arms, you do not need shims. Just use the loctite that is provided. Very simple and easy to do. I havent had any issues with the compensator coming loose since it’s installation. Very high end comps.
