Guided Meditation for Social Anxiety

- This is an Original 10 minute guided morning meditation recorded by us. Social anxiety is a common condition characterized by an overwhelming fear of social interactions and a persistent concern about being judged or negatively evaluated by others. This emotional challenge can significantly impact one's ability to engage in social situations, hindering personal and professional growth. Meditation offers a powerful tool for managing social anxiety by promoting mindfulness and self-awareness. Through regular meditation practice, individuals can learn to observe their thoughts and feelings without judgment, fostering a greater understanding of the underlying triggers for their anxiety. Meditation techniques, such as focused breathing and guided visualization, provide a calm and centered space for individuals to cultivate a sense of inner peace. This newfound awareness and calm can, over time, help individuals navigate social situations with increased confidence, reduced self-consciousness, and a greater capacity for genuine connection with others.

From what a counsellor, therapist and UA-camr I follow said, social anxiety mainly stems from the ancient thought patterns we have. Before society, we live in tribes and being excluded from the tribe can mean death from the elements, wildlife, etc. So we worry what others think of us to prevent us from separating from the tribe. Now in modern society, we don't need to worry what others think of us. And even if the thing we worry about came true, we can ask ourselves "is this about me?" I tend to worry that saying hi to strangers will have them think I am weird. Then I remind myself some may have social anxiety, a bad day, or didn't realized saying hi to strangers can be a good thing.
Having talked to my mum, I now *_know_* that my social anxiety stems from something I did when I was 2 years old, that my mum was embarrassed about and _never_ forgave me for it! In fact she punished me my whole childhood, making me _think_ there was something wrong with me. Science now shows that trauma during the toddler years contributes to the _feeling_ of fear & anxiety (we are _supposed_ to feel *safe* during those fragile years and learn to *trust* our caregivers and therefore the World). The fact that she chose to abuse me & blame me for something _she_ did wrong, rather than comfort & love me, especially _in public_ it led me to be *afraid & insecure around other people & feel not as good as them* . I was scared of the World! _But it wasn't the world that I was really scared of, it was my mum, and not only that but there was never anything wrong with me._ *I now recognise this, transmute it & let go of it to the ethers, May we all do the same, the Angels are guiding us.* Lord have mercy, Amen 🙏
