Absolutely love what the game gets right but my biggest gripes with the game are the cait sith section in Shinra manager (seriously the worst, slowest weakest character alone for monster and boss fights….. why just why) this fight and a few others feel a little too difficult for normal mode. And the extreme over abundance of mini games. Seriously it got to a point where I stopped bothering cuz there are just way too many. It stopped being fun at a point.
I've noticed after nearly throwing my controller that he really doesn't like triple slash. Come in with First strike, ATB boost and steadfast block Materia and murder him with it. Forces him into phase 2 fast.
Glad to see im not the only one frustrated with this fight. Stay strong and wish me luck, im gonna try again. Ive been working on this for like 3 days now. Its making me hate the game, like why am i stuck in this marathon of OP boss fights. I wanna get back in the story and not rely on guides. Im playing normal difficulty
I really loved this fight and was so happy to get a rematch after how fun it was in Remake. A little disappointed it was basically the same fight in reverse, but was still fun. Rufus really had me on the ropes when Darkstar joined, but I made it a 2v2 by calling Odin, who Zantetsukened to KO them both at the perfect moment as my health got into the red. Very great cinematic fight and looking forward to the Hard Mode version.
I'm honestly shocked everyone struggled with this fight, I did not get below half health once on dynamic difficulty. Way more fun and far easier than the rufus fight in remake..... I'm assuming they didn't assess him, because his weakness is VERY easy to exploit. Focused thrust (or ANY atb command, I assume that includes the 0 mp spells that consume atb which instantly hit the enemy when you cast) after literally any of his attacks pressures him for a solid 4-5 seconds. Everyone I'm seeing is complaining about the reload being hard to exploit, they most have COMPLEEETELY ignored "Striking him while he is reloading or LADNING AN ATB COMMAND AFTER HE ATTACKS will pressure him. ATB COMMANDS WILL LEAVE HIM OPEN LONGER THAN BASIC ATTACKS." so silly
This battle show how little thought went into single battles. I'm literaly only getting slapped around only blocking and healing. This is atrocious. The man spends 99% of the battle either counterreloading and knocking you on your ass, or he's using unblockable attacks. Him and roach ruin the combat experience
This kind of fight + unplayable mini games make this game very annoying while it is overall marvelous. Square Enix should think better. FF is not a fucking Sekiro. Fuck this.
i'm not trying to offend you, but was this on easy mode? Because when I fought him, he was extremely difficult to get his HP down. Then again I had some extremely good armor and highly leveled, maybe thats why it was so difficult... I see you went for a brute force method of staggering him, thats interesting. I actually used blade beam after dodging gun fire and got him on his knees temporarily ready to take my thwacking. another interesting thing was that I was able to stagger his dog by putting it to sleep immediately upon its entry. it took me 3 hours to figure all of this out, everything before this I just kept trying to do chip damage to no avail lol. square did a real good job with making these fights entertaining/challenging for us.... anyways good fight dude, you made it look cool at least lol.
Completely agree. I would much rather do boss fights back to back than boring minigames back to back. Boss fights in rebirth are my main enjoyment of the game
When I start the battle my attack bar is only 1/3 full so ofcourse you gotta attack to fill it. Hes inmmune to almost everything, counters everything and by time I get my attack bar full, I have to cure. I then have to sit there and try to dodge attacks while attacking him to fill my bar again and most of the time have to cure again. I can't seem to get my bar full without needing to cure so I can use braver or whatever else. I am missing something and I am extremely frustrated. I had very little issues getting to this point. The mini games are complete rubbish but doable once you figure out absolute precise timing or whatever else. I hate whats happened to Final Fantasy 7 with the remakes. Also, I had no problem with rufus in remake.
Wack ass mandatory boss fight! Was thoroughly enjoying combat til this nosense. After dying like ten times, had to put this on easy mode. Just gonna breeze through the game on easy mode now and enjoy the story.
Put this bullshit unfun fight into easy - and usually that would ruin my experience of a game but I've done it one other time and I do *not* feel bad at all for dodging the unfun headache this and 'head case' will have further caused me. Seriously some of the fights in this game...
i honestly don't understand how anyone finds this fight fun at all. it's the most bullshit fight i've ever seen... it's not even hard it's just bs, the reload window is super small, he recovers fast af, jumps around like a dumbass constantly, can't hit him with any magic.. it was enough to have that twice in remake, and they put it back the exact same way in rebirth... how in hell is anyone finding this fight fun. it's just crappy fight design. on top of you're allowed to heal up before rude and elena when you don't really need it because you can roll over them pretty easy, and then for fucking rufus you get thrown in with half mp left, thanks (not). this fight on it's own made me want to stop playing the game even tho i was enjoying all the rest up until now xD
This boss fight is making me want to quit the game all together I mean I won’t but I can’t stand it I’ve gotten so close like they were both on their last bit of life and I get killed while healing I have infri as my summon for this and I just can’t catch a break 😅
this makes no sense, you clearly dont even know or do what the strategy is... you randomly keep attacking over and over geting countered, instead of waiting for him to reload. you clearly won by pure luck and have no idea why you even won.
Literally is going to ruin the game. Seconds away from uninstalling . Seconds. Wtf is this bullshit. Then you get the lames but dur stop playing the game and don’t push buttons and stand there for 3 hours chipping away 100k health and being perfect or starting all over from the beginning of the 3 hours and don’t forget be perfect or you start over and oh yeah counter reload but I’m 4 million miles away oh gotcha nope counter attack wait your doing it the right way now? 30 hours to go. Be perfect….don’t forget, counter….
I think the other 40 hours of minigames and bad combat design is ruining it for me tbh. The games pretty hit or miss, lots of great moments, none of which come from quality gameplay unfortunately, not a fun game.@@MauuZz

@@ken5040yeah. Bc sitting here for 40 minutes doing nothing but dodging attacks so you can hit once a minute and somehow accomplish 100k damage. Trash. It’s not about being easy or hard, it’s about doing it correctly not wasting time
@@O0dZ-x5e he reloads after every attack, learn the fight not whine lmao. Git gud as they say, or ya know use assess to see what to do and actually complete the fight with ease 😂
Well- thank fuck that’s over.
The Rufus fight in Remake was one of the best in the game, and I was so excited for it to come back and damn it was even better! Such a good challenge, really had me on the ropes but I was able to get him first try.
Is there a strategy I’m missing? I’m trying to stagger him during he’s pressured and it’s not doing nothing
Nvm just beat it fuck this boss
U can just uses Braver to stagger him
@@WanupDeShroom It's true, Braver can stagger him at points. I just won. Bahamut, revival ear rings, braver. Bloody hell this three boss fights in a row was just bullshit. I was loving this chapter up till that.
working on it right now, this shit sucks. I dont even feel like playing. I just get fucked even if I pressue him while he is reloading. This guy playing had it easy.@@Ellidyre
@@NarcissusUltI felt like giving up, but hang in there man. If I can do it, anyone can. Use revival earrings as accessory, and braver can stagger if he's reloading. Time it carefully, use your summon, and then go aggro on him if you get limit break.
I think Cloud Strife can handle the boss fight against Rufus before we get to Sephiroth until the final battle from the start!
It’s Al about timing if you hit him with triple slash while he is reloading he will get pressured it also works if you do triple slash before he performs an action with a exclamation mark you just have to time it right
You can focus thrust him as well
Absolutely love what the game gets right but my biggest gripes with the game are the cait sith section in Shinra manager (seriously the worst, slowest weakest character alone for monster and boss fights….. why just why) this fight and a few others feel a little too difficult for normal mode.
I need this remix as soon as physically possible
I feel like people would like this fight more if the Turks fight wasn’t garbage. This one slaps.
The way I wanted Cloud to lose as I watched this 😂
😂😂 you gay for daddy Rufus?
@@BarbaricRug i’m female and he isn’t much of daddy material but yeah totally
@@ArcabPrior yeah I'm male and I have to admit the dudes a stud.
You can watch me playing then
Glad to see im not the only one frustrated with this fight.
Stay strong and wish me luck, im gonna try again. Ive been working on this for like 3 days now. Its making me hate the game, like why am i stuck in this marathon of OP boss fights. I wanna get back in the story and not rely on guides. Im playing normal difficulty
Rufus: Cocky as ever.
Also Rufus: *Challenges a genetically enhanced opponent to a rematch who beat him last time*
I really loved this fight and was so happy to get a rematch after how fun it was in Remake.
Only thing that would have made this better is if Rufus was a queens blood opponent and had 3 dragon cards in his deck.
Screw what everyone says, this boss fight was so much damn fun and entertaining.
It's boring af
@@Walamonga1313If you hate fun i guess it is
I'm honestly shocked everyone struggled with this fight, I did not get below half health once on dynamic difficulty.
A literal boss fight
This battle show how little thought went into single battles. I'm literaly only getting slapped around only blocking and healing. This is atrocious. The man spends 99% of the battle either counterreloading and knocking you on your ass, or he's using unblockable attacks. Him and roach ruin the combat experience
As a soul game lover,i love fighting rufus. I get the hate from the casual gamer,Normie are not used to fighting boss with so many counter and opening
I have more fun trying to beat this guy countless times vs all the mini games put together in this game😂
It seem they used the same battle theme than final fantasy remake that awesome i was so enjoying that theme
No... They made it _better._
Rufus stands on business, gotta respect it
This kind of fight + unplayable mini games make this game very annoying while it is overall marvelous.
I swear you play it on easy
With that dameg from him you died like 10 times
And he don't use deflect every fucking time
I played this on easy mode and holy hell, it was hard. Nothing worked until poisened him😅
This fight is such fucking ass, genuinely the worst boss fight since bed of chaos in ds1. What in the actual fuck were they thinking
For second Phase use the Esper Alexander or Neo Bahamut. Both of them melt Rufus and Dark Star.
This whole coliseum segment popped off, hope they do more back to back fights in part 3 stuff like this is peak
Feel like its complete BS that every single attack (minus bad luck) will stun you if hit (not blocking)
This was not even remotely close to my experience with this boss. I’m not sure if you had it on easy mode but dude just spams attacks.
Yea im putting this fight on easy mode...
Put this bullshit unfun fight into easy - and usually that would ruin my experience of a game but I've done it one other time and I do *not* feel bad at all for dodging the unfun headache this and 'head case' will have further caused me. Seriously some of the fights in this game...
How am i supposed to beat this fight? Its impossible....i have just been frustrated for the past half an hour....like damn
I both love and hate this fight. Yeah he's annoying but at least I got to beat him by just having bahamut nuke him with a laser.
i honestly don't understand how anyone finds this fight fun at all. it's the most bullshit fight i've ever seen... it's not even hard it's just bs, the reload window is super small, he recovers fast af, jumps around like a dumbass constantly, can't hit him with any magic.. it was enough to have that twice in remake, and they put it back the exact same way in rebirth... how in hell is anyone finding this fight fun. it's just crappy fight design. on top of you're allowed to heal up before rude and elena when you don't really need it because you can roll over them pretty easy, and then for fucking rufus you get thrown in with half mp left, thanks (not). this fight on it's own made me want to stop playing the game even tho i was enjoying all the rest up until now xD
If this boss fight was easy it wouldn’t be memorable
I remember when I said his boss fight was really cool in the first game.....guess I ate my words bc I'm on try seven
Plz help me 😢
This boss fight is making me want to quit the game all together I mean I won’t but I can’t stand it I’ve gotten so close like they were both on their last bit of life and I get killed while healing I have infri as my summon for this and I just can’t catch a break 😅
I hate this fight, it’s BS. I’m only here for the soundtrack as it’s not available on UA-cam!
So sad, can't finish this game becaude of this boss!!! Too hard for me 😡😡😡😡
The problem with this fight isn’t that it’s hard - it’s boring.
It’s on easy more bruhhhhh
Exactly
Rufus filtering out the skill issues just like he did in Remake
Goddamn...he is so hot in this.
Square Enix failed hard with this fight.
So many skill issues in these comments 😂
Fr, I beat him first try lol
this gave me gamer rage i do not like this man
this makes no sense, you clearly dont even know or do what the strategy is... you randomly keep attacking over and over geting countered, instead of waiting for him to reload. you clearly won by pure luck and have no idea why you even won.
Easy mode though.
Bruh, all the whining in the comments over this is funny lol
Mega potion enhanced… dodge dodge dodge… limit break… shitty fight.
Yeah.. sure just one fight will ruin the other 40 hours I've spent in the game😂
lmao you're going to hate the final fight if you think this is bad
Let me guess, youre just mashing square?
I think the other 40 hours of minigames and bad combat design is ruining it for me tbh. The games pretty hit or miss, lots of great moments, none of which come from quality gameplay unfortunately, not a fun game.@@MauuZz
Everyone loves this guy but gosh he’s still annoying this 100th time… 😒
stupid game.
Absolute bullshit boss fight
Dogshit boss, like Roche but a lot worse
Clearly a lot of players on here don’t like a challenge 🤣 losers 🥲
They really did a good job with Rufus Shinra
