This is EXACTLY what i hoped Square would do. We actually got to fight Vincent!! It makes sense why he wouldnt fight with us. His personality is so on point, also. They really did his intro justice. Didnt think he could get more badass.
I was shocked and albeit a bit scared when he turned into a boss fight ha his limit breaks were always OP in the original, I thought nah I'm not winning this surely 😂

I love the little Scottish accent. It makes sense and adds a layer to his character since I assume everyone who played the original back in the day or in the modern day with no knowledge of other pieces of the compilation wouldn’t expect him to sound that way

Vincent not knowing how that the scanner was turned off was such a random yet funny moment. Him being a boss was such a surprise but a welcoming one. Really a shame he's not playable. He's one of my favorite. Hope to see him get a playable DLC like Yuffie
The devs have stated that they have no plans on a dlc like intergrade and focus is on part 3
On another comment I made I personally think its genius from SE to leave such a beloved character until the end as it'll leave us wanting more which from a developer perspective is exactly what they want - I don't care we can't play as Vincent, I'll be waiting in the wings for the final instalment and am just glad to have seen him in this.
@@sootythunder3111They said the exact same thing, verbatim, about FF16. But then they went and announced 2 DLCs not long after. If I were SE, I would both Cid and Vincent DLCs once the characters kits are fully complete so players can get a taste of what is to come with part 3.

Now I'm really curious to see Vicent other Limit Breaks.
Between Vincent forms and jumping everywhere (AC/DoC) with guns, and Cid's dragoon-like class, and the likely scale of at least Weapon battles, I'll be disappointed if the next game doesn't have us vaulting all over the place, at least when making certain moves/forms.
@SwobyJ if I managed to get myself a copy when Vincent is playable Galeon Beast will be staying on always. Maybe I can change for Chaos later.
Vincent monsters transformations will be his abilities whenever you get him a new weapon. I’m calling it

I still miss his old voice, but I do welcome matt and for trying to be as close as possible.

Rush through the game to be the first to have these clips out and get the views. Of course he's gonna have shit summons because they take time to acquire through finding divine intel and fighting them. Not like these weapons, just open chest and go.

Dirge of Cerberus? I don't remember the GAMEPLAY being that good but it brought up some interesting plot points, and also kind of fleshed out Vincent's backstory including the origin of his powers. It also introduced Deep Ground which we got a glimpse of in Integrade.
Dirge of Cerberus was one of the worst games ever made.

I prefer if they add them through abilities that can be turned on and off (like Cait moogle mounts or Tifa's unbridle strength) rather than limit breaks, the way LB are handled in Remake doens't work well with 4 different forms...

@sootythunder3111 I've thought this too but playing Dirge of Cerberus it seemed to me Hojo only put him through the experiments as a way to get rid of him as he was essentially getting in the way of Lucrecia which makes it even more sick.
Sephiroth may be the villain on paper but Hojo is essentially Mengele in this world, sadistic freak.

We'll probably get him in the next intergrade. Intergrade is a word meaning to transition from one to the next. Remake intergrade showed us yuufie and set us up for some of the lore bits with deep ground and a hint to the new combat.
I'm sure Vincent's intergrade will be him doing research into sephiroth and finding out more about hojo and deep ground which will make him decide to hunt down and kill hojo(the orginal reason he joined us in 7.) Which is when he meets up with the party.
Especially with all the deepground stuff involved only yuffie Vincent and reeve.

Playable Chaos with his laser gun like in Dirge's final chapter would be awesome.
This was one of my favorite bosses in the game. Music was fantastic.
I thought it was Steve Blum who voiced him here again, a shame because his voice is really cool!
He was voiced by Matthew Mercer this time, who was no doubt giddy with excitement the whole time in the booth.
And after his perfomance as Jotaro and Ganondorf,i really have high hope his perfomance as Vincent. And it's not dissapointed.

Great Story for old time gamers.
1998 I am playing through FF7 for the first time. All my characters are lvl 35. I literally just ran through the content as fast as I could, without realizing how under leveled I was. I hit the final Sephiroth battle, since I am so low level I only get 3 characters. Cloud, Vincent, Tifa.
Battle begins, I am doing okay, but burning through cure and mana and potions really fast. Finally I transform Vincent into his Giga form(Frankenstein form). That form has a little life steal on hit. Sephiroth uses meteor, I am amazed by the animation, I am also horrified when everyone dies except Vincent. And if you don't know Vincent when transformed can't use any other skills and basically auto battles. This lasts indefinitely. He survives with a sliver of health, Giga Dunk! Gets some health back. This continues for about 3 mins...my mom calls me for dinner and is not having the, "Be there in a sec I am playing a game."
I leave the game scarf down some food, about 10mins, and run back to see my Giga Dunking Vincent is still alive. 5 mins later, he Giga Dunks Sephiroth one last time finishing him off. The AI literally beat the game for me. This is why since that day Vincent has been my favorite FF character of all time. God bless you Vincent.
I always over leveled everything so I was the opposite, was super hyped for the fight, then killed him with one knights of the round summon.

@@silverwindspirit I didn’t finish him off with knights of the round though, I literally just got in battle, used one summon and it was over. Unless you’re talking about that last weird cutscene thing where he’s shirtless and you omnislash him.
@@daesong1378 oh no, I used omnislash before the final cutscene between sephiroth and cloud. Having clouds ultima sword, a hero drink and one omnislash was all it took to beat the final boss

Well Vincent was painted with each of the qualities of the trope of an edgelord. He's a broken man betrayed and experimented on but he is also a regular dork who seemed to have a problem with Technology. Ps1 Cloud is a bit more insufferable because he's supposed to be similar with the usual silent protagonists but he also becomes rude here and there without reason as the story progresses. At Least the remakes gave him an actual personality which is a guy who thought he was special but slowly opens up with his insecurities.
I don't trust anyone who doesn't use the Buster Sword during important cut scenes.
This is the only reason why I would want to buy the game as it is currently. I'm still hoping we have a ton of lore and story to further explain Vincent's character.
This boss went way to ham man. While i didint lose to it like i did later bosses, i spent 90% of this fight using pheonix downs and 10% needibg to use limit breaks to actually hurt him.
Thanks for the gameplay footage. I've been wanting to try this game. I really can't get over how weak Barrett's attacks are...I mean, he's got a proverbial pea shooter
Barret's attacks are ok. Specially overcharge
Barrett’s good as a mage and for using overcharge and focused shot to increase stagger
Barret does decent damage. He would be OP if he did a lot because he has the highest defense & HP and fastest ATB. He's supposed to be used as a Tank character. Which is why he has things like Lifesaver. Heal everyone with prayer, revive the fallen, use Phoenix summon with him. You cant lose with him. For me he IS the best party member.

His Galliant Beast form looks 10x better than what we got in DoC. The only thing I don't like in that form was his hair. And if he does become playable in part 3, will his monster forms actually be controllable for once?

So can someone explain this "series" to me. FF7 remake is a retold story of ff7 and rebirth is part two of it? Is that right? And its supposed to be a trilogy?
Correct. I like to compare it to the Hobbit films. That was originally one book, but they turned it into a trilogy of movies.
The same is being done here with FF7. They are taking portions of the game, and expanding upon them. Fleshing out sequences from the original, adding in more lore, diving more into the story of existing characters, and even adding all together new ones who are equally as likeable as the rest of the OG cast (in most cases).
Some people are upset its not all done in one game. But me personally, I think this was even better. The third game is probably going to be one of the best RPGs ever made. Rebirth alone was already near perfection.

Didn't Vince and Cait Sith already meet in the events of Dirge of Cerebrus?
Those events are part of the old original timeline, and wouldn't have happened for a few years yet at this point in the story.
If I remember right, Dirge takes places just after Advent Children, which takes place a couple years after the original FF7 story.
A few Dirge bosses have already been recycled into the new chronology, so I'm curious what other elements get used going forward.

I understand that the devs didnt want cid and vincent playable yet until part 4 but damn it sucks that we will never have all 9 of them playable at all because aerith’s gone in part 3. We will never see aerith, cid and vincent synergies 😢.
That's the saddest part for me of them not being playables and ending in Rebirth in Aerith's death... We'll never play with all 9 main cast together! I just want Aerith to live just for that thing dammit
