I actually really like that Rufus is genuinely a competent fighter. It further adds to how different he is from his father, being more hands on and perfectly willing to get his own hands dirty to deal with a problem efficiently , instead of just using dumb brute force. The former was a hammer, while the latter is a scalpel is the best way I can put it.

It really does. The chanting in DB Super Broly was peak and it's peak for this too. Just hearing the crowd go "Fight! Fight! Fight!" really gets you in the mood to kick Rufus's ass

I would love to have Rufus Shinra join the main party in the fight against Sephiroth for part 3, or at least be a guest party member lol (same with Cissnei). Could have the potential for a really cool moveset to play as and for the story as well
@@NightSkyNyx in the original there was space missing when the party lined up to fight sephiroth and it was meant for aerith since they didn't want to kill her off, now that they killed her off again they can always fill that spot with Rufus

To anyone having trouble beating this guy. Use triple slash when you see a red command on his head. Triple slash is cloud's fastest weapon ability and would cancel rufus' attack and pressure him. Once pressured you can attack him but look out for when time slows down in 4-5 hits, dodge when time slows down and continue to attack. Repeat this cycle 3 times and be prepared to counterstance(if on hard mode) or triple slash. Rinse and repeat until darkstar. Darkstar is pressurable with triple slash if you see darkstar going for corkscrew go into punisher and block then use triple slash when you see rufus doing a red command. It should be enough to pressure them both. I suggest to focus on darkstar but if you have a full limit bar just use it on rufus. Good luck people hope this helped!

The time signature suddenly switches to counting in sevens, which I always found adds a nice suspense because your melodic phrases are cut shorter than expected. Not to mention, the instrumentation lightens up and builds back to its splendor over the course of these three bars in time for the piece to return to its four-count. It adds a nice satisfying resolve. I also think the drum kit adds a nice catchy beat during this brief little segment, just like at 7:45. Rock drums tend to make you bob your head.
