It really is a good publicity stunt lmao, imagine if some US president showed up on WWE or UFC just after starting the presidency and challenging and actually fighting the champion.
It's really sweet that Rufus sends Darkstar away once he's knocked out. And the fact that he calls him "D" makes it seem like he sees him as a beloved pet.
Rufus was ruthless in this fight!! Also whoever voiced Rufus for the English dub did such a fantastic job!! The lines from Rufus in this fight are so menacing!!
I enjoy going back and watching fights like this one because when I'm playing through it for the first time, I start tunneling on trying to live. I can't pay much attention to the stuff like the announcers and their commentary, which unsurprisingly is so colorful and funny lol XD
The music at 2:00 and the way all were resting and preparing was so damn cool. I listened to it for an Hour and just updating all my builds in the meantime lmao
The fight with Rufus and his puppy was fucking epic, when I managed to defeat him I was sweating. By the way, I love how Rufus become angry if you beat his dog.
I don't think many people know this but lazard Deusericus Director of Soilder (from Crisis Core) is actually Rufus's Brother it's amazing when all of it is connected

Started to lose interest after Gongaga aswell, after Nibelhei especially with the back to back boss fights, then you do it again at the saucer, so annoying i wanna progress the story
now that i have the chance to actually listen to them, it’s crazy how many different voice lines the corneos MCs have for different scenarios. like when you heal cloud towards the end of the rufus fight and they say “cloud was almost out of the fight but now he’s back in!” just when i think i know all the details they put in this game i find something else that makes me appreciate it more

These 3 back to back fights have caused me to stop playing Rebirth for the moment haha. Love the game but damn these 3 fights are so annoying, i got so close to defeating rufus on last fight, died then had to start again from the 1st rufus fight like come on.
Im stuck on this fight and ngl even before this i was already tired of the game like late chapter 10 cause these are literally just reused fights from the previous game just changed a lil bit and ita back to back to back i reached dick bag rufus a couple times but he just melts my health away and i just no longer give a damn to keep playing ill come back to this game if they give us a zack dlc or something play the game as zack and what he was doing cause for fuck sakes why was he playable for only the beginning part
I know you guys probably have already done the boss by now but I'll still post this for anyone clicking on this thread: Rufus reloads after every 5th shot. Giving you a brief moment to catch him and pressure him. The dog just needs to be hit with an elemental attack to pressure it and temporarily separate it from Rufus.
Yes, you must be one of those people who think that games should be hand-holding and every fight should go through on the first try... It's nice that there were at least some difficult fights and you had to think a bit more carefully about what you were doing in them.
