I guess one of his biggest weaknesses competitively is that desision making with him is really hard and that's not what you need when you play FT3's when prise money's on the line. Otherwise potentially very strong.
The Crane move has mad mixups too. You can hold forward to auto attack lows. Or hit up forward 4 to attack very quickly after a crane kick as an option to just the four low.

I think knowledge must be a regional thing. As an American Lei player, I am often running into people who know that matchup pretty well. I think he's a lot more popular here than across the pond.
I only started playing Lei cuz his S2 DLC reveal trailer was awesome, and that's it. The learning curve was definitely steep, and every pro player I watched always had something new to show. I just hate that many people who i encounter online leave immediately when they don't know the match-up
I remember being great with Lei back in the Tekken 3/Tekken Tag Tournament days but back then I didn't know the entire "plus/Minus"thing at all (still don't) Now I try to get into it and suck because I'm so confused at all that extra jargon when before I just knew what could beat what off of instinct/usage. I just keep confusing/discouraging myself with the the entire +/- thing.

I just faced like 4 leis in orange/red ranks, and i noticed how they spam lows, so i started blocking low more, but a lot of his lows are not that punishable apart from that hellsweep... Many of those lows are unseeable and combo too, so in that sense i think hes unbalanced compared to other characters... Also, the stance where he lies on the floor is kinda like aop but better. He can crush more moves than aop, and even when you hit him in that stance, unlike with aop, you get a very low float i doubt any character can combo off, kinda like zafinas tarantula.. That stance also has a low sweep that combos... Unfamiliarity is one thing, but he does have tools that make him strong, imo maybe a bit too strong

BT d3 u can use when opponent's back is at the wall,thus they can't backdash or after knock-downs you do dash and in this situation it will always be clean hit if they tech.. as for SS4, ws1 on hit into SS4 and again, they no longer can backdash (aside from zaf, Alisa) from fengs SS4... I choose Feng SS4 and backturned d3 over any low launching low of the others
Jin becomes stronger the more you know about your opponents moves/frames. Focus on your fundamentals and keep in mind that with jin less is more in most cases.
You can't force people to play against the cancer they perceive you to be. People enjoy playing against and rematch Mishimas because it's more enjoyable for them even if they lose.

I also thought about starting a discord or forum where I pay high rank people to play me in long sets. I'm so experienced in getting one and done'd that I can successfully guess if the player will leave or not after the game. Call me crazy but I can.

The mixup potential and variety in his multiple stances although I dont use them enough. I like his ability to either play solid or go into calculated chaos

you don't need to hold f to auto hop kick lows in crane (although in panther you need to hold F to get the low parry)
You can also delay the passage into stance when you use razor rush ! And that is amazing. Lei is the most interesting character of Tekken IMO !
