Hi Sheena, I just found you and HAD to subscribe, both to your You Tube channel and your blog. Can't wait to watch and learn more of what you do. Your books are gorgeous. I have made faux leather wallets but I am loving your technique much better. Thanks for sharing this.
Brilliant Sheena! Shared parts 1 & 2 with my crafty niece, Danya, in the USA. I shall be making some of these to sell &, hopefully, make some much needed money for 'Three Counties Dog Rescue'. Thanks for sharing :-)

Sheena I thank you for such a fun technique which I have use to begin these little books. WHAT a craze you have created , I could not purchase any Spray and Shine anywhere! The whole web is sucked dry of this spray. You should get a medal from the manufacturer! I am trying to be patient!!!!!!!!!!!! Love your TV shows, you make me giggle plus being an inspiration.
Hi. Wonderful tutorial. I decided to subscribe. I am kind of new to making journals. I usually only scrapbook. But since I started watching all of you wonderful crafters I have not scrapbooked for a couple of months. Having such a good time making these journals. Love your accent! You are a very good teacher, and easy to listen to. Thanks for sharing! Definitely will make these....next on my long list of journals to make! Going to watch more of your videos!
I tried this technique a couple years ago and absolutely loved the results. (So did the folks I gifted!). My only concern at the time was how well the covers would last. Nearly three years later and they still look new even with my grandson's scribbles on every page. (He's a college man and uses it as a notebook). Thank you for your excellent instruction. I am going to get started on a few more as graduation gifts! (I am a retired teacher.)
This was the best 2videos! I love the way you present, show how, and then finish the product. You are so very talented. I am new and I am going to go out and get my supplies and make some for Christmas presents this year, 2014. Thank you for sharing your talent, God Bless.
This tutorial was just brilliant. I have ordered the craft paper and I bought the glycerin and I'm ready to go. What I would really like to know is how you embossed the larger pieces of paper for the tablet cover without having the straight lines (where folder ends) of the folder showing? I would really like to make larger books so I would really appreciate it if you could share that bit of expertise. Thank you. Can't wait to see the next tutorial of the tablet cover.
First, I love your fun personality. Thanks for sharing...I did a 12" x 12" small booklet and added Mod Podge to the small binder embossed cover paper and I thought it felt like leather. Now I will use glycerin water first. yahoo
I am so excited to try this, ordered everything yesterday. You ran the craft paper through the embosser while it was still wet, is that ok? I just ordered the ebosser and don't want to ruin the machine. Thank you
i love your faux leather technique. i made some 10 years ago and it is still ace quality. have you tried it for everyday use? does it stand up to wear and tear?
Sheena!! Thank you! I did two faux leather book covers yet they are a bit sticky on the outside. Do you have any suggestions for me so they won’t stick to other things. I’m hoping to give them as high school graduation gifts but need to fix this problem. I’m sure it’s because I didn’t finish them correctly. Hope you can understand my problem and have a solution. I haven’t finished them with paper inside yet. Thank you for your knowledge and help.
Hi Sheena, I have watched the videos on the faux leather and I’m simply amazed! The tablet case is gorgeous! Did you line it with felt? Did you stitch it with a sewing machine? I have to try this, fantastic! Thank you so much for showing this!
Theres a new and updated one now Lisette. Find it on 'you tube' or either my main Facebook Page (search Sheena Douglass) or Join my FB Group 'Sheena's Ink-ettes' Thank you for your kind words and continued support Sheena xx
I make notebooks, planners, journals for a hobby. I use the Cinch for my binding technique. Do you think your Faux Leather technique would work for a cover?

Are you going to show how to make a case for tablets? I just love what you do you give great things to do love it.
Great.👍🏻😘
Hi Sheena 👋 since we can't get spray and shine in the US, is mod podge a good substitute for the the finish to the leather from the 1st video?
How do i make the tablet cover. Love that.
How do you make the black false leather? Do you paint it?

Hello Sheena,
I adore your videos and I too use paper for leather. I use it on furniture. Im wondering the name of your paper supply? Is it just cardstock ? Could you provide a web link to order it, please? Ty in advance & keep up the great work.
I use craft card from www.createandcraft.com

If you wax the thread, it will be even stronger.
Czy moge spytac co to za spray który Pani uzywa na końcu
Could you just string elastics in this and then make books with covers in it ?
Sheena, would you be able to stitch all three bunches of paper into the cover at once
do you know, I've never tried that....give it a go and let me know xx
You make me laugh:” alien substance to me….”
I’m in Australia can you use Distress spray resist ?
Hi Suzanne. Sorry, I'm not familiar with this product so can't really advise?
I was interested in the tablet cover - are you going to do a video on that one soon?
Sheena just lovely. I was thinking of making a phone cover just while its in my handbag, like this as I wouldnt want to use the booklet.....far too pretty to use:) thank you for sharing. Oh have you tried using grunge board for this technique? I think it would loom fab... off to play I think.
The signatures should be face trimmed before saddle stitching. In this manner all pages have and even face.
avec quel papier vous le faites ?
card stock
I just came across this. Why don't you sew the paper to the cloth and then glue it down?
you could but I find this easier, especially for those who don't sew?
