I've watched a ton of faux leather techniques and I am really impressed with your technique and the short, easy-to-understand instructions. You are truly gifted. Thank you so much for taking the time to teach all of us how you make your faux leather journals. Hey, you also taught how valuable a decent paper cutter is and a pretty cool technique for holding the paper in the journal not to mention your stamping and sewing ideas. For all that I learned today... Thank you!

This is brilliant Carmen! They turned out beautiful and the stamps really give it a lovely hand tooled feel to your faux leather. Really excellent!

I was thinking along the same lines as some of the other comments below! Your technique for Faux Leather is by far the best one that I've come across. I've already watched the video a few times. My husband was sitting alongside me and he too was intrigued. I only came across your UA-cam channel the other day and I am so glad that I did. I've been checking out quite a few excellent videos already. Thank you very much! Karin - South Australia

Thank you for sharing your faux leather method! It's quite different then what I have seen before. I like it a lot! I thought it was embossed leather, like others said, too! Really very beautiful! I make (ok, I've only made one so far :) Junk journals, and I learned how to sew the 'signatures' in, usually with the three hole binder stitch sewing method, but I like learning other ways as well. I want to learn the Japanese, or is it Chinese book binding method too. I'm adding your method to my list of book making methods, thanks! Subbed as well!

I've made faux leather before but your technique is quite different. I really like it! I thought you had used embossing to get those images, but I was wrong! Thanks for the inspiration.

Why didn't you use the file folder length, cut to size, with the faster on it for more stablitity?

Steam a seam 2 double sided fusible web, Minwax (likely) wood stain in Dark Walnut, Big Top clear coat, Painterly roses stamp from Iron Orchid Designs, Stamp ink also from Iron Orchid Designs, and the taupe paint is unknown but possibly an acrylic furniture paint.
