What would you like to make with this faux leather paper? Let us know in the comments!
I will make a "crumpy" passport holder. Greetings from Costa Rica pura vida!
I want to make a cool old looking journal for this week's school assignment of a Lewis and Clark expedition journal entry. Y'know, to make it fun!
Wow! This is a beautiful project - thank you!!!
Oohhhhh a vintage journal cover would be good!
Yes do it
I did this but I made several layers and mod-podged them together. After that, I rubbed some beeswax onto it. Total leather replacement without hurting the ani-mules 😂🤣 Thanks for the great video!
Thank you so much!!! This is exactly what I was looking for!!!❤
WOW! Gorgeous faux leather. I love it. Thank you for sharing your clever technique with us
Lovely little notebook, these would make nice men's gifts!
Beautiful! Thank you for this well-done tutorial! 🥰
I love the vintage antique look of paper, so I'm definitely going to try this, thanks for the how-to demo
I love new words, I will be using your new word..."crumps"! Love this idea I will be giving it a try!
This is going to be my first real make. So lovely! 🦋🦋🦋
LMAO I could not stop laughing at “Crumps” 😂😂
Wish I had thought of it.
So much easier than the glycerin method! Thank you!
Wow! This was so inspiring to me. I have an obsession with vintage looking journals and I collect them but making my own would be amazing. And this tutorial is so clear and actually looks like something I could do. Thank you so much I’m gonna try this! 😘
This turned out amazing and looks so authentic and great!
Me encantó esta otra forma de hacer falso cuero!
A tener en cuenta en la próxima artesanía! Lo amo!
What a beautiful cover and notebook! Thank you for sharing your process. It looks amazing 😊
Just found you and your lovely videos. So glad I did! I’m very new to this, but so excited to be learning.
Your success with the Fabritac glue is due to it being acetone based. The water based glues cause the problem. Anytime only one side of a paper is moistened, it’ll try to curl to that side. This is also true when eco-printing or coffee-staining paper. Hope this helps! 😊
Good tutorial! The Fabri Tac is acetate based and the tacky glue is water based, I think. So the tacky glue will warp the paper and the Fabric Tac won't.
I've seen similar techniques but I like yours more because you can have any thickness of 'leather' by having a thicker or thinner backing board. I want to make some leather folios that I'm going to use foam core boards (so 5 or 6mm thick). This would just wrap around nicely and create a nice thick leather board. The only real limit is how wide your baking paper is.
Good job.
Love this tutorial!! Your faux leather looks amazing!!!
5/3/23: I made two on yesterday and they came out great. I love the crumbled paper method 'cause it makes it look and feel more like leather to me as opposed to just using plain brown paper bags. And after I put the Decoupage on top, WOW, the final look was fantastic. Thank you for taking the time to post this project. I will now make many in various sizes for photos and such.
Oh what a wonderful video of making a cheap and quick feaux leather. I will check it out and cover a wallet with this feaux leather. Yes you inspired me. Thank you very much. Greetings from Bavaria 😀👍
Thanks for sharing this wonderful technique! I always love your tutorials, you make them easy to follow with good instruction and details. This faux leather is super sweet & I'll give a go for sure!
You do such beautiful work. Thank you ☺️
Hi I Ilike your work so bueatiful made. I'm from Mexico City grettings everyone
Great tutorial...thank you
I’m new sub. Excellent tutorial. Detailed, informative and your English is excellent. So considerate to include both metrics and imperial measurements, along with not editing out the glue booboo, but allowing to learn about the difference in the glues. Thanks so much
Tinne, I really really love 💕 your faux leather journal, it looks so rich and stunning and if I was going to make faux leather I would want it for a journal 📓 cover. Thank you so much xxx Mags
This looks so amazing. I am trying this after work today.
This is such a beautiful little notebook!!! I love it!!!
Great tutorial - will definitely try this technique - I can see it would be great for cards and tags too
that is so real looking and I just love the book. great idea. thx for sharing!!! i'm going to try it soon
love this style of faux leather!! im definately going to try this!! and i also got a kick out of your NON existent words and the fun attitude of just making those up!!
Well, Brenda, I'm positive more non existent words will turn up eventually :D
Oh j'adore le rendu, il faut absolument que j'essaye cela !!! Merci pour tous les tutoriels que vous partagez ! Bises de Christine ;-)
You make this so easy I love the look on your book and am going to do some like that. Thanks for sharing.
That is so pretty! I am going to try this technique.
Very nice journal and clear instructions! Thanks!
Выглядит красиво!
Very nice!
This design is really lovely. I am putting together a cardboard fireplace for every day use and I am going to try this leather design in inserts on the front. Thank you for the inspiration!!
Thank you Tinne! I've tried using paper bags for faux leather but they are thick and difficult to work with. I'm excited to try your technique! It will be perfect for a travel journal I'm making for my step-daughter. Her first trip to England. ❤️👍🏻
Thank you so much! Another really helpful video! I will try this technique to make a "midori - style" notebook with elastic cord so I can easily change-out the pages. Thank you!
Love it, Love it, Love it....thank you very much for your video !
Love this idea - looks so good!
Perfect project, thanks for the tutorial!!
Love it!
Thanks for the faux leather tutorial! I think a picture frame might look nice.
Great tutorial...thank you! I will definitely make a notebook like this, only since I am a "junk journaler," I will probably use some of your fantastic papers for the inside pages and do a 3 hole pamphlet stitch for the binding. This would look fantastic in a standard Midori-style travelers notebook too! Lots of applications for the faux-leather look. I really enjoy your tutorials.
Nice. Thanks for sharing!
You may have used several non-existent English words but I knew what they meant! lol
This gave me an idea for a journal I just bought, too.
Beautiful 💯👌
Love this. TFS xx
❤muchas gracias. Precioso ha quedado
Wow what a wonderful technique I love it, I’m loving your videos too thanks so much for sharing your creativity with us xxx
Cool Tinne! Dank U!!
Love it
Thank you so much for sharing this it’s lovely x
thanks so much for your fabulous video, I will definitely try making this!
Really nice Tinne!! I've never actually seen a video on how to make faux leather out of paper. I loved this!! I like making junk journals so I'm going to try this for one of them. Hope it comes out as pretty as yours. I've been making a journal for my brother in law but have been really stumped on a cover. Thanks!! Hugs 😘

I've priced the faux leather material at my local craft stores..and its really pricey...love this inexpensive idea. Thank you for the tutorial
This is so nice. I am going to make my daughter one. Thank you for sharing ♥️
Lovely!!
What everything is dry on your cover where it was wavy on the edges from tacky glue, just cover with parchment paper and iron over it really quickly! You did an absolutely stunning job ❤
Thanks great tutorial!
Fabulous!
Bravo!!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Tacky glue has too much water and fabritac, 3in1 and fabrifix don't. And that's what makes the wavy paper. I love your designs and kits.
Geweldig en erg leerzaam, bedankt 👍
👍👍👍👍❤
Great!
OMG so gorgeous and fun to watch. Can't wait to try to make it myself. Thank you.
Beautiful. Can’t wait to try this!

OMG IT IS VERY NICE GREAT JOB AGAIN THANK YOU FOR TUTORIAL IT IS AWESOME
Tinne that is a fabulous technique I will have to try sometime. Your notebook came out beautiful :) Hugs...Janie
Great tutorial...tfs
Merci Tinne j'ai trouvée mes couverture s
it looks more like bronze metal but i love it anyway!!!!!!!!!..:))
Yes, I have done it on an exiting book!
I am very excitedly watching your every video. You're an excellent teacher. Your all tutorials are super amazing. 💓💓💓😊
This is the third one I have watched and it is easily the best. The first one required a lot of fancy equipment and the instructions in the second were vague and the woman rambled and waffled a lot.
I was sewing the pages in by old worn out leather strip. Two holes in the pages like you did with the staple. With tie in back, with enough left to wrap around to keep closed.
I really enjoyed this tutorial! 😊
Soo schön!! ❤ Es. Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland
Very nice 👍 thank you 😍😇
What a brilliant tutorial! I will definitely trying this. Thank you!!
Really enjoyed your presentation ❤
I'd use one of those sideways elastics.
Very nice! TFS ~ L
You are awesome
