  • Twelve Moment: A Persecuted Man
Anthony, a highly influential figure, faced relentless persecution from the Church's enemies due to his popularity and strong following. Despite numerous threats and attempts on his life, Divine Providence shielded him, often leading his would-be assailants to conversion. A more extensive campaign aimed to discredit him throughout Spain, accusing him of political interference, affiliation with influential figures, and even moral misconduct. Throughout it all, Anthony maintained his composure and silence, embracing suffering for his faith.
Walking the path of righteousness often brings forth significant challenges, and it's during these trials that we look for inner strength and unwavering faith. Yet the very thing that sustains us through these trying times is our character, which is forged through countless experiences of remaining faithful in small matters. When we do our part, we can be sure that God will provide what is lacking.
    Let us Pray,
Eternal Shield, in the moments of trials and tribulations, you granted St. Anthony Mary Claret inner fortitude to stand firm on principles, upholding grace and resilience in the face of baseless accusations and defamation. Grant us the wisdom to understand that Divine Providence watches over those who endure persecution for their beliefs, offering solace and reassurance in times of turmoil.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
St. Anthony Mary Claret, Pray for us.
