I have terrible sleep issues. Always have, have never been one to drink coffee either. So you’re telling me if I have a cup at 10 am it will actually help me fall asleep at midnight???
I have a big question about the coffee. I felt this could be the case, but took me years to finally find it out. So basically if I want anxiety, I just need to consume coffee. Simple as that, I feel uncomfortable with drinking it.. I start to be afraid of everything, I get super fast and reactive. Is this caffeine though? I switched to all kinds of teas, some claim to have a super high content of caffeine, and I am fine. And coffee makes me feel really good for some time, 30-60mins, but after I just want another cup of coffee and anxiety begins. But I reckon it is more how it affects my digestion, could it be for some people?
Joe Rogan had Michael Pollen on his podcast recently. Not 100% sure but I think he said the "caffeine release" from green tea is more constant than coffee for example, or something along those lines. Might be related to that? The clip is on UA-cam and he talks about how he felt after been 3 month without coffee. Really interesting
Caffeine puts you in "fight or flight" mode, I believe it releases adrenaline and cortisol within the body. A normal black tea contains roughly a half to a third of the amount of caffeine as a coffee. Green tea contains theanine, which reduces the negative side effects of caffeine, leaving a cleaner feeling of energy without the anxious jitteriness of coffee.
I have the same problem, i get panic attack or just anxiety, feeling like nausea in my stomac, i cant drink coffee. And of course, problems with sleep, if i drink it i get very bad. Many people drink liters at work and dpnt understand why i dont want it.
Yes, drinking coffee increases levels of anxiety. Green tea on the contrary contains L-theanine which causes relaxation in humans. Your perception of your bodily reaction to tea and coffee is true.
