This is one of my favorite gospel songs ever. When I learned it, there was a 2nd verse that no one else seems to do - in all of the videos I've seen of this song it's not sung. It's a great verse for all y'all who want to add this song to your repertoire. Goes like this...."When my friends, (when my friends) are gathered 'round (gathered round) and are looking down on me. Will they turn (will they turn) and walk away (walk away) or will they sing one song for me?"

All three verses were performed when Earl Scruggs played at the Kennedy Center with Doc Watson and Ricky Skaggs. It is a marvelous rendition. Give it a listen. 😍
