I managed to sneak in backstage at the Paramount in Bristol, Va/ Tn. Very nice guys. Shawn Camp talked with me and a couple friends until they were gonna lock the front doors. Shawn and Johnny Warren we're the most engaging. They do as good of show as you can pay for.
Okay....I've been listening to Flatt and Scruggs ever since I was a kid. Not that I am any sort of authority on the subject but Russel is the voice they need there. Awesome tenor and you guys make this music look so easy. These cuts were truly remarkable and that's what makes me buy the cd's! It is so much fun for us to watch and listen to what you all do as musicians . Very much appreciated Flux.
To those new to these guys, Leicester in England is pronounced Lester and there really is an Earl there. But the joke in the name is about celebrating the music of Lester and Earl.
When Curly Seckler went to work for them in 1949 he told them he wasn’t that good of a mandolin player and Lester said well you hold it good. They liked Curly for his high tenor. He did take a few breaks on the mandolin and Curly came and went and they had other mandolin players if you listen to there recordings from around 1949-1953 with other mandolin players the mandolin was featured more. Curly’s longest continued tenure was from 1955-1962 and after Curly left in 62 they just did away with the mandolin all together. At least from what I’ve studied about Flatt and Scruggs.
Hope they go wide open in 2022. We all need this music more than ever. Thank you gentlemen from my heart. Your music is the best.
What professional band! My favoritebluegrass band now! Nothing on radio or TV that can possibly compare!

I love the comment i made 6 months ago. I still want to blast that song out a car window. Giving myself a thumbs up.
I wonder why Flatt and Scruggs never or very rarely let the mandolin player take a solo. Perhaps because of their feelings towards Bill Monroe?

I've heard nearly every song Shawn has ever sang. . . His blood runs blue...grass!!
Yesssss
These old pros can play,. sing, and have fun, all at a elevated level.
They sure can, hope they play ,thank God; for many years to come .
I love the old fashioned way they weave in and out using one mike. That's an art in itself.
Now that’s goooood.
I'd like to blast this song out a car window.
Wow!!!! Wow!!!
Sounds like Lester Flatt singing..
The sub has to wear the red string tie. ;^) Great job!
