    Soap & Clay is a family owned business operating in Washington State, but started out online thanks to Mrs. Soap & Clay's kickass brother and his amazing web design skills. The business was started as a tribute to Mrs. Soap & Clay's grandmother, the OG maker in the family that cultivated everyone's love for the DIY life. The studio/retail shop opened in 2017 on 6th Ave in Tacoma, and immediately began teaching soap, bath bomb, lotion, and scrub classes to the makers and maker enthusiasts of the PNW. In 2019, the pottery studio opened as well, making the soap shop a busy place full of artistic energy every minute of the day.
    Mrs. Soap & Clay has been featured on Business Spotlight, New Day Northwest, and was awarded a coveted place on the South Sound's 40 under 40 list in 2019, an award given to the most influential business people under the age of 40 each year. She cried when she walked up to the podium to accept the award. A lot.
    Drawing from her chemistry background and her maker spirit, Mrs. Soap & Clay infuses her favorite things into her soapy designs and creates products that are fun to see, use, and learn to make. Stick around for this ride - she'll take you on a great one.

    Luvly juvly recipe. I made a batch similar, had a plumber at my house recently and pointed him to a sink so he could wash his hands where said soap was. He bought the whole batch then and there lol. He keeps a bar with him in his van continually and texted me few days ago saying his wife appreciated his smooth hands. Was kinda cute!!! 🤣🤣🤣 And good on ya Scout, what a great assistant.

    What was the yellow powder? I use cornmeal in mine, but its courser than that, is it the ground scrubby stuff?

    Do you have a tutorial on how to use the soap nuts? They intrigue me! I’m going to make this recipe for my nephew, a mechanic, for his Christmas present - thank you for a great recipe and video.

    • @MrsSoapAndClay
      @MrsSoapAndClay  11 місяців тому +3

      Hey! I’ve talked about soap nuts a whole bunch within videos over the years but don’t think I’ve ever done a dedicated video. For the nuts themselves, you can just drop a few into the lye solution while it’s still hot and the saponin will release into the water. The powdered version I prefer to mix into the soaping oils.

    Hello missus😅soap & clay, can you please tell me what a soap net is

    • @MrsSoapAndClay
      @MrsSoapAndClay  11 місяців тому +1

      Hey! Soapnuts are berries with a naturally high amount of saponin. You can use them in dried powder form or just plop them in your lye solution to extract the saponin and increase the bubble in a recipe.

    Anyone else watching this immediately think that they have to go make this soap? I do. I wanna make this with things I currently have. Which means no pumice, but walnut shells and maybe some corse sea salt could work?
