Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! Apologies again for the audio, the gain on the microphone was too high. We are loving this show and this episode was lots of fun! The stakes are increasing for the kids and this one definitely qualifies as a cliffhanger. Let us know your thoughts and theories. Thanks for watching and MTFBWY!
22:25 I don't think this ordeal is as it seems. I think Jod did this (21:13) because of what happened just before this (20:06) and this (12:46). Fern never trusted Jod. Despite his saving their lives last episode (twice), and keeping them safe and fed since he's joined them on this journey, she continues to question his motives. Jod'd put with until now; now their situation is dire and everyone needs to be on the same page. More importantly, Jod needs the one person he didn't want to have to rely on, SM-33, and the only way that was ever going to happen is if he assumed command of the ship and became captain--Jod did what he did to save them imminate danger, and he needs SM-33 to do what he says when he says it! This story takes place five years after ROTJ, and ROTJ takes place 23 years after ROTS. We can assume that Jod is around the same age as Jude Law, right? Jude's 51 years old. Jod's old enough to have grown up on Coruscant, raised in the Jedi Temple. A Force-sensitive person like himself would have been picked up by the Jedi! At the time of Order 66, Jod would have been 23 years old, which is about the same age Obi-Wan was during TPM. I suppose Jod could have been a padawan, like Obi-Wan, but I suspect that he was something more like Ahsoka or Kanan, generals on the battlefield if not a full fleged Jedi Knight. Is it me or has Jod's connection to the Force gotten stronger since we first saw him? We heard the Force's theme playing when he used the Force to grab the prison key--his usage of the Force was janky, but look at it now; we can hear the Force (7:11) when he uses it. 22:29 What does this command actually do? It gets the children out of danger. SM-33 was essentially ordered to take them back to the ship and hold them their. Fern treats him like a pirate, so he's playing the part of a pirate, but more importantly, I think he's giving Wim what HE wanted--your edit here (6:27) cuts out Wim saying, "all I ever wanted was a real adventure." What does Jod say to Wim just as the enter Captain Rennod's lair, here, "What'd I tell you? Real Adventure." Jod is allowing the children to live out their fantasies, particularly Wim. The way he spoke to Wim on their ship, about Wim's "Powerful imagination" makes me wonder if he can sense something within Wim. Wim is reckless, and that reminds me of Luke. Fern is cautions and untrusting, which reminds me of Leia. I think Wim and Fern are two sides of the same coin. They're both tired of the mundane lives they lived on At Attin; they both want adventure. Deep down, is Wim the think he idolizes, Force sensative? The way Fern drove her speeder, makes me wonder if she is too. 22:53 It sure was! I need next Wednesday to hurry and get here, lol. 23:32 The only people who couldn't trust Jod were the adults. I assume the reason for that is because of what happened to him--he's "alone" and "lost," remember? When talking with Wim he told us how he felt about the galaxy--he called it rotten! I imagine surviving Jedi feel a number of ways, but betrayed is probably at the top of the list. They fought and died to keep the peace, giving everyone in the galaxy a life of freedoms, and look at the galaxy now: it's a place full of people looking out for themselves; not just the people in the Core Words, but also the Outer Rim, look at Uncle Owen! The Galaxy turned on the Jedi, helped the Empire hunt them down. No wonder Jod kept changing his name an identies over the years. That's what he had to do to survive. He couldn't stay too long with one identity. He never found a group of people he felt comfortable with, until now. Han Solo told us all we really need to know about how the galaxy feels about Jedi in ANH. In just 23 years, the Empire scrubbed them from history books, and the galaxy forgot about them. Wim is different! He's the only person in the galaxy still speaking kindly of them, and that is why I think Jod has helped them and stayed with them. Wim reminds Jod of a time when the Jedi were respected and loved, and I bet that's a feeling Jod hasn't felt in nearly three decades. Wim makes Jod feel whole.
Merry Christmas! Yes, Jude Law is awesome and a fantastic addition to Star Wars. All the child actors are great, too. Especially Ryan Kiera Armstrong plays Fern very good.
It's easier to use the kids as bargaining chips if the droid can't be used against you. Although I'm fairly certain with how often mutiny comes up that SM-33 will mutiny himself and turn against Jod.
I suspect we'll find out by next episode that Jod took the captain role as a way to help or protect the kids somehow. I know it looks bad and I could be wrong. But I feel like we're in for another bait and switch and Jod needs the captain role for whatever comes next that the kids cannot handle & he's playing the bad guy role for their own good. i think Wim will have his moment and use the lightsaber again but correctly by the end of the season.
It's easier to use the kids as bargaining chips if Fern can't turn SM-33 on him. Although I think the story is heading in a say where SM-33 will mutiny against Jod.

I love watching Star Wars with you guys
This was the most fun episode. Great reaction 🎄
I wish they’d show the last 3 episodes all at once so it be long and fun like a full movie.
Definitely my favourite episode.

Yeah Crimson Jack don't want to get too personal
I can't wait to see what color that lightsaber lit up
Sure !
"Why is there a lightsaber?"
Perhaps Rennod killed a jedi and took it from him.
So many different names now I'll just keep on calling him Crimson Jack
Is someone going to show up in the next episode to help them who could it be if so
The dad acts like Wimm
If Fern wasn't being such a hard case, would Capt Silvo have challenged her at that point? Not sure he would've
