20:23 Guess you forgot the part where the Onyx Cinder just effortlessly flew into atmo and left At Attin in the first place. I don't think it'll have a problem going back down when it gets there, the Barrier is likely more of a cloak of secrecy than a shield of defense.

interesting what jod told wim about letting go of attachments. seems similar to the jedi code's stance against attachments and whatnot. so maybe he WAS a jedi at one point. also "your focus determines your reality" is what qui gon said to anakin.

The sentence with the reality he said to Wim, is exactly the sentence Qui Gon Jin told joung Anakin in Episode1

The golden skull in the treasure room looks like a Weequay and they obscure Capt. Rennod's face in the hologram. C'mon Star Wars! Stop messing with us.

How would the acid trap stuff work? All you need is a sophisticated metal detector of some sort. Given the technology available in the Star wars galaxy, it's not far fetched

my guess is he had no real 'ill intent' he just wanted out right control as danger is rising, in his mind appeasing Fren as the 'captain' was a waste of time and energy.

That was my thoughts as well. Jod knows they are in some deep shit and he really can't do much planning as long as Fern was technically recognized as Captain. But I could be wrong.

4:26 I think this is very important and what Wim wants is going to pop back up in the story.
5:23 Pretty that was was Order 66 doing. This story takes place 5 years after return of the Jedi, and that story takes place 23 years after Order 66. We can assume Jod is around the same age as Jude Law, right? Jod would have grown up on Coruscant at the Jedi Temple because that's how things went during Jod's youth! Jod's a former Jedi like Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Kanan and Kal Kestis, and like them, he had to leave the Order and become something else for his own protection. Jod, apparently never stopped running, as evidenced by his many different names and jobs. The Empire might be gone, but not the rot it birth--Jod compliments Wim's ability to see adventure and hope in this "rotten galaxy." Is Jod wrong? From the Core worlds to the Outer Rim, everyone in the galaxy is just looking out for themselves. The Core benefitted from its proximity to Coruscant, and they were happy to step on the little guy to elivate themselves. Still, ANH showed us enough on Tatooine how the people there weren't interested in helping others either--look at Uncle Owen =/
The Jedi fought to uphold and protect the rights and way of life that was fairness for all in the galaxy, and in just a few quick years, the Empire undid thousands of years work. What's more, the Empire scrubbed the Jedi from history; few know of them, and those that do think of them as cooks following some hokey religion like Han Solo. The state of the galaxy must be crushing to a former Jedi. Why would one continue to hold to an ideal of peace and goodwill if everyone around you doesn't want it? Jod sort of assimilated, but we can see in episode one that he couldn't fully commit--he didn't take part in the killing, and he gave the Capatin of the ship he took an out, but the captain refused the offramp.
Wim, all of the At Attin children really, must be like a brightly burning ember in the darkness to Jod. At Attin is a world living in a bubble, a bubble saturated in Old Republic lore! They know nothing of Empire or the time before it! They only know the Old Republic, the height of the Jedi Order, which is why Wim sees them so positively. Jod likely misses that. Even though he wasn't around in those days, the Jedi were seen positively in his youth. I believe that is why Jod has been completely honest with the children. Why he's fed them, and why he continues to look out for them, while trying to get them home. He hasn't fully committed to being the person he once was, but he's slowly getting back to the person he buried deep inside him. Everyone knows Jod by his many aliaces, but I believe he told the children his real name, Jod Na Nawood.
7:31 do you hear that? That's the Force. I believe this is the first time we're hearing it in this series. We heard the Force theme when Jod used the Force in episode two, and it was coupled with his out of practice janky use of the Force, but look at him now. Jod's time with the children seems to have strengthen his connection to the Force.
8:35 Well, when theirs a bounty on your head from the old days, you do what you gotta do.
10:04 coupled with Fern's constant need to question Jod's actions, SM-33 having to check with Fern before doing what Jod asks, likely explains why Jod does what's coming. They are in trouble, really trouble, and the children are goofing around and aren't meeting the moment with the care and seriousness required. Jod needs to trust something he never wanted to put his faith in, but he has no choice, SM-33, a droid. SM-33 has shown time and time again that he'll follow the captain's orders, and that's what the moment needs.
14:44 There's the sound of the Force again. It sounds more focused.
15:11 Just before this moment, Jod looks to Wim and says, something along the lines of "You see. What did I tell you? Adventure." Jod promised Wim an Adventure, and he's doing his best to give it to him. Jod cares about the children's wellbeing, particularly Wim's.
17:30 Don't let the music fool you, I don't think this moment is as it seems. Things just got real serious, really quick. The pirates are here, and this room has a map to At Attin and everything Tak Rennod said about it. If the pirates make it in this room, the children's home will be in big, big trouble--this is why Jod's eyes are closed. He's thinking. In order to keep the children safe, he needs to become someone he's been running from, his former self, a Jedi. But first, he needs to assume command for the reasons I outlined earlier.
I can't wait for the episode dropping later today. It is sure to be fire. Nice reaction you two =)

My theory is that captain Rennod took control of At Attin. Which Jod realises and knows he will have to overthrow captain Rennod as taking the kids back would result in captain Rennod having Jod killed to keep the secret. Which means Jod can't have the kids getting in the way. The part that I am unsure off is if Jod will try to take captain Rennods place as the ruler of At Attin.
