So worth knowing (Not mentioned in the series) .. The world history diverges just after ww2. Instead of the microprocessor defined era we live in, there was a nuclear power defined era in the US. That's why the world looked so unmodern when the nuclear war happened, even though it took place on Oct. 23, 2077. The series is built like the games. Full of dark humor and raw moments. Fallout and Fallout 2 are isometric board like turn-based RPG games. They are quite challenging. Particularly the first game as the main quest has a 150 day time limit, but once you've finished it you can explore the world for 13 years should you feel like it. Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Fallout 4 are all 1st/3rd person (optional) real time action RPGs. They are some of the best games I've ever played. All of them have tons of content, side missions, and large explorable world maps. I recommend taking your time and exploring, finding as much of the world and its secrets as you can. I didn't mention Fallout 76 because it is a very different game. While looking a lot like Fallout 4 it was made to be a "massive" online game. It is set before all of the other games while being the newest and its events, apart from the obvious nuclear war, are not mentioned in the other games. It caused a lot of controversy by originally having no humans apart from the players and lacking a lot of the RPG components, rather being designed as a co-op survival game with PvP possibilities. It has however had its RPG end heavily updated along with many other things. It is by all means a fun game, just not the game I would recommend for experiencing the stories of the Fallout universe. There are also some other spin-off Fallout games, but I have to admit that I haven't played them... yet.
Looking forward to this! When I'm ready for a full rewatch I'll do it with you folks! Also, I believe that's the Santa Monica Pier, Coney Island is in New York. The turrets not hitting him as he escaped The Enclave, you'll have to play the game, that's just how turrets work. The giant ass bags... that's a joke about the games inventory system.
Atompunk since it is a alt history based on nuclear power with 1950s aesthetic with often vacuum tubes still dominant but highly advanced ones so the tech is actually more advanced in a lot of ways. Dieselpunk refers to diesel power source and 1920s art deco typically with lots of chrome. Steampunk is of course steam power and oftenn Victorian aesthetic with lots of brass in some ways more advanced since they further refined automatons and other tech that was abandoned . Of the three Diesel is the least common with Steam being the predominant one. A diesel punk video game would be Iron Harvest which is based on the board game Scythe that takes places in a world in which ww1 didn't end like in our world. They have giant diesel powered mechs and some other more tech that is decades ahead of what would have been in our timeline.
Ah man I grew up playing Fallout 1/2, this series was such a faithful adaptation of the world its still hard to believe it exists. I think you'd appreciate the context of the turrets missing every shot, just as a gamer: they're the same model of turret in Fallout 4 that is notorious amongst the fanbase for how worthless it is

For a little context watch the Fallout 4 intro. It will kind of explain it quickly.
Not a gamer but have played fallout 4 on my pc, and loved this show.
I love this and I subscribed.
Maybe you can do a first play through video or live after you finish this amazing show.
Thanks for explaining!
Michael Emmerson will always be Ben from LOST to me.
This is based more on the world of Fallout than any one story from the games.
Yes, it's Michael Rapaport...I think he's great. And I really enjoyed the 6th Day with Arnold.☺️💚
It's cool to see you showing your mother cool shows and movies. Its gotta be fun to show ur mom a show that you enjoy lol
It really is!
😊
Ah man I grew up playing Fallout 1/2, this series was such a faithful adaptation of the world its still hard to believe it exists.
I think you'd appreciate the context of the turrets missing every shot, just as a gamer: they're the same model of turret in Fallout 4 that is notorious amongst the fanbase for how worthless it is
This show starts 10 years after Fallout 4 starts. The year the bombs fell was 2077 and it was shortly before halloween. Not sure of course when you actually watched, vs when this hit the tube.
Yeah they did a good job on adapting this... dont forget to watch for credit scenes kinda like the Marvel movies
So far it looks like there's only "here's what's coming this season" clips in the credits, and not scenes. We're only up to episode 4 so far.
@@Flix2Us for sure the last episode though
Copy that. Thanks!
@@Flix2Us The "Outros" often have hints on what occurs in the next episode but some about larger topics, like....the billboard with Cooper Howard & "Vault Boy" ;)
TBH.... it's smart to prevent in-...ter.. you know.. inter-family-adult-fun when trying to survive underneath the ground with a population of maybe 300 ( the least you need ) and 1000 people. Dammit.. in Iceland modern days there is an app you have to "google" your date if she's not related to you ^^
fallout 4 blind playthrough with you and your mom?? :o that would be cool!
😊
Canine Experiment 404 (not found), for those that are looking for a reasoning for the dog's name.
14:56min praise the Omnissiah 💀🤖🙌
Hi, I didn't think I'd like this show, but I'm glad I joined U 2. Fun gore and lots of questions to be answered, so let's get into it !!! Thanks eh.
😊
love this show and the game i would say you might want to check out the opening video for fallout 4 as it will give you a good state of the pre war world with no spoilers its the weakest part of the show it assume you have an idea of the world its set in so it really light on world building
a very very good adaptation of the game. If they continue this in season 2, they will never face the devastating criticism that fell on The Witcher, for example.
More Santa Monica pier / Pacific Ocean than Coney Island / Atlantic.
😊
Get that jelly mold out of here! lol
It's a fun show, the tone and aesthetics are perfection, though the writing falls right on its face by the end.
Still, a fantastic adaptation.
Okey dokey. I'm here for this.
Want ep3-4
