- I installed a torque solutions blow off valve plate on my friends 2015 KIA sx turbo. I wanted to se if it actually made a difference. It works and you can hear a difference, it was easy to install. I have a 2019 Kia Rio 1.6 engine without turbo.

No, it won’t work on your car. You need to have a turbo because a turbo has a blow off valve and that’s where you get that sound from.

No it just doesn’t re use the blow off pressure, it just gives you that noise that a turbo should make. My son has one on his 2022 Honda Civic and he loves it.
this mod will give you worse MPG's because youll always go into boost just to hear it LOL

So I have a 2015 Sonata 2.0T. I know that it has lower HP numbers than the Optima, and I'm pretty sure it's because Hyundai used a smaller turbo, but kept the same turbo/HP numbers for the Optima. So with smaller boost numbers, will the effect not be the same and possibly not worth it?
Not really sure, I’m guessing it depends on how much boost is used between both turbos. The smaller turbo you won’t need as much boost to get the positive pressure than a bigger turbo.

No check engine light has came on, he’s still driving it. My son did the same thing to his Honda civic and loves it.
