    I think the evolution of the gaming mice market has been pretty interesting. Back then it was about companies loading a mouse with so much stuff giving them all the reasons to price it high and it got to a point that even gamers thought they needed all that but now we're in a point where we've come to see and realize that all we really want and need are the basics. A stark contrast to how it usually is with any tech product where we want more stuff as it evolves.

    For the Viper Mini LOD: Calibrate it using Synapse, choose the Vespula V2 Hard pad and *choose 3 on the Lift-off Range* (feel free to pick whatever feels best to you). I did try and set it to 1, but somehow the sensor felt odd and tracking is very off. Tested it by circling on the same area, and my cursor keeps going in a random direction, tracking in Apex also had a weird smoothing and acceleration effect.
    I then set it to 3 and it's fixed. Yes it's a bit higher, but not as high as the regular. (I didn't do tape mod or sand off the sensor ring)

      I’m not trypophobic, but when I play games and die or whatever, or kinda stress it, I squeeze my mouse. My hand really hurts after that, because of the design and if my hands do sweat, it can get on the insides and there isn’t anything protecting the components unlike how corsair moist-proofed their mouse of similar design. The mouse is very light weight and is good, but I just can’t get over how inconvenient it’s for me. I’d stick with the Viper Mini.

    Great vid as always. I personally use the deathadder v2 at work and the model d at home and for gaming. I have large hands. 20.3 x 10.1 cm. I use fingertip grip. Ambidextrous mice don’t work for me because most have low profiles and my ring finger doesn’t have a comfortable place to rest. This leads to inner palm cramping and finger rubbing. I’ve tried the g900, g pro wireless, viper ultimate. Out of those three the viper was the most comfortable to use but the finger rubbing thing was happening and so was cramping. I’ve always used gaming mice for work as they’re designed for comfort. If there was a wireless version of the model d That can maintain a low weight I’d probably use it as my all around mouse.

    For the budget gamers, ($40) there is the cooler master cm110 and it is really nice! It has quite a nice shape, slighter flat top, and it registers drag clicks, and most double clicks. It is a *really* great mouse for starting gamers, and does a pretty good job with amateurs! And It has a quite similar shape to the Razer Viper Mini!!

    I've always said the $50+ mice were a rip off. For years people were buying those $100+ mice because of the brand. I've had a Redragon M901 for probably close to 10 years now. Paid $30 for it and I still used it daily. Pretty minimal wear and tear on it. All buttons are still responsive and not spongy feeling at all. And it's MMO style with 12 buttons on the thumb. I use these in FPS to change weapons, throw grenades, etc so I don't have to take my hands off wasd. I am just starting to get some fraying on the braided cable, but I had a desk for 2 years that had a sharp glass edge on it, otherwise it probably wouldn't have started fraying at all.
    I'm glad to see that mice manufacturers are starting to bring their prices down to at least the sub $50 range. For a few years there it was like putting "gaming" on something just added $30-80 to the price for no reason. Maybe keyboard manufacturers will do the same. I used the Redragon Mechanical keyboard for a while but the clicky sounds drove my S/O nuts. It was damn solid quality, had MX Cherry and it was under $50. At the time name brands weren't under $100-150.
    I think for peripherals, all the major brands have been WAAAY over priced due to "gamer hype" . Now it looks like they are getting on the level. I'd rather save $50 on a brand name keyboard, and put that $50 into storage or ram upgrades.
    I'm cheap and cynical though.

Even though I returned the Model O minus, it's definitely a much better shape for fingertip users than the Viper Mini. I returned mine because the side buttons were positioned so low that I constantly kept accidentally clicking them mid-gunfights. and it's all because of that stupid RGB line😡. If your fingertip grip is very relaxed or if you thumb pinches the mouse(if you don't fully lay your thumb under the side buttons) , I 100% recommend you to try the Model O minus.

    I went to my nearby Best Buy store to buy the g305. When i held it in my hand at the store, it was obviously way too wide for my finger-tip-grip. Which is weird because I have huge hands with super long fingers, so if it was too wide for me, I can't see anyone else using it for finger-tip-gripping. Strange design, since the g305 seems to be trying to be a small mouse, but it's actually very wide at the base. I bought the Viper Mini instead, it's much narrower. It isn't wireless, but without a battery, it weighs less which is good for finger-tip-gripping as well. Also the Viper Mini has RGB, which I wouldn't choose a mouse based on (size/shape and accuracy matter more) but seeing the Mini on my desk, I can't help but notice that the RGB on the Viper Mini is pretty damn sexy. When the ladies see it on my desk, they're gonna be like dayum.

      The Model O wasn't available for me to try out, but I would have liked to try it at the store. Honestly I would probably just get food and gunk stuck in the cutout holes on the Model O, though. The combination of crumbs, hand sweat, and occasional coffee spills, makes the mouse area of my desk a pretty dirty environment. I have to clean my mouse and keyboard pretty often and those cutout holes look like trouble for me. If you have an OCD clean setup and you never eat or drink or smoke while using your mouse, then maybe you would like the weight reduction that the holes give you.

    this list is missing the mm710, which is essentially the cheapest honeycomb alternative, and it's pretty great. if you're looking for the cheapest best finalmouse alternative, mm710 is amazing, especially after the refreshes in new batches

    • @optimumtech
      @optimumtech  4 роки тому

      I have some problems with the MM710 / MM711. Mainly because the PCB and weight of the mouse is all in the front, and the entire rear of the mouse is empty. This gives you a really cheap / hollow / unbalanced feeling, and that's why it's not on the list.

    • @flauntyy
      @flauntyy 4 роки тому

      @@optimumtech I agree, for people who use palm and have larger hands, it's kind of pain to really feel comfortable getting a grip. For claw or fingertip though and if your hands can fit on it, it's practically perfect. It's especially better than a lot of heavier mice (53g), like the G305 (~82g) and some of the other mice here (~69g), with the cable being a huge plus to it's almost wireless feel. I grip using claw, and with how light it is, along seemingly no drag on the cable, I grip it pretty well and can flick/track pretty accurately. Personal preference at the end of the day, and I think the main issues with it will come down to sizing and quality checks on batches. If you're dead broke and it fits, it's probably the best mouse, if not close the Viper Mini. Glorious Mice hit the spot though, and I think those will probably be the best for people on average, especially with the versatile options they have for different hand sizes and grips. Also, just as a note, modding MM710 isn't really as feasible as opposed to Glorious Mice, if you're trying to do stuff with new feet and cables, and if anything modding the MM710 would just be for fixing quality control issues.
