Very nice! I got my first DCXL 5 years ago, cost me $50 U.S. for a small one and now I have 4 pots full of them! You'll LOVE DCXL! It grows the biggest traps early in the season.
That’s brilliant! I definitely can’t wait to see it’s growth, especially at the start of the season to see how big it gets compared to other cultivars ☺️
would you happen to know a good way to feed a small sarracenia psittacina it is so hard to fit bugs inside the traps and can not be dropped in like other sarracenia? great video
Thank you, some growers give osmocote pellets to S. psittacina and S.purpurea to give them an additional boost to feed due to their shaped pitchers. You potentially could trial this if you really wanted to give your plants a boost.
@@carnivorous_plant_girl its just hard to feed anything to psittacina when they are young the opening is so small and hard to make it fall down the trap where the digestive glands are supposed to be.
Yes I have, last year I cross pollinated several flytraps and sown several hundred seeds so hopefully will be lucky and get an odd gem, although will take several years to develop 😁
Flytraps can be purchased in loads of places. There is Facebook selling pages for carnivorous plants and eBay sellers which is where I purchase most of mine and then you also have carnivorous plant specific nurseries which sell cultivars etc
Yes I have tried osmocote on several plants however not on flytraps, I have done less feeding trails on the flytraps as they seem to capture the most insects year round anyway
Yes I have seen that cultivar and even had the opportunity once to get one but I never did. Will definitely have to if the opportunity comes back again!

Can’t wait to see how DCXL will get for you! It’s one of my all time favorites.
I can’t wait either! I’ve been waiting so long to see it in person ☺️
Love your greenhouse. Very nice collection. We got 6 inch snow on sunday, and 13 more on monday, my greenhouse was almost buried in a drift.
Oh wow that’s so much! What we got was considered a lot considering we hardly ever get it! Thank you for watching 😁

@@carnivorous_plant_girl i suppose i could snip the top of the traps off and shove food down their gullets
Have you thought about developing a new cultivar and getting it registered?

Hi! Can I ask where you bought your new fly traps from?
Sure, I got my flytraps from a seller off of a Facebook carnivorous plant sales group
Hi 👋 from Hampshire
Hi, thanks for watching 😁
Which peat moss do you use and what blend of grit / perlite etc?
I use a mixture of peat and perlite in about a 50/50 mix
@@carnivorous_plant_girl Thank you. May I ask what brand peat moss? It seems like some have additives which are not good.
Ians tags there. Spot them anywhere
Yep they are unmistakable!
Can you tell me where I can buy some of these plants please?
