Pinguicula Unboxing and Collection Tour | New and Unusual Butterworts
In this video I unbox 3 new Pinguicula from West Cornwall Carnivores. After the unboxing I also show off my Pinguicula collection, including at least 1 of each of my species/ cultivars that I currently own
This time of year is when my Pinguicula start to colour up and look their best. As I’ve now included quite a few newer Pinguicula over the course of a few weeks I’m happy to show off my purchases.

Greenhouse Tour August 2023 | The Colours of Summer
Переглядів 2,3 тис.Рік тому
Another long video showing off the Greenhouse in summer where almost everything is in full colour and looking it’s best. This video was filmed over several evenings hence the dipping of lighting throughout, unfortunately this was what I could do in the time I had but still gives a good representation of the Greenhouse and where everything is. I’m hoping to do some shorter and more genus specifi...

    Great video. They can thrive and populate quite easily it seems then I'm going to have a problem with the 10 different species I got; three already have flower stalks. Maybe I shouldn't have their pots next to each other. They might cross-breed.

    Grew these for the first time last year from seed, grew very slow and small over the year, come the winter they died back, this year around feb/march a few shoots started coming up and then over the course of a few weeks they just died, so no idea what i did wrong, have light, water etc Also never seem to have any luck with Drosera Bina.

    Great video 😊 Your Pygmy sundew gemmae that I got from you last winter are growing happily (some varieties better than others). I'm about to try to propagate VFT from flower stalks and have a couple of spare pots that would fit in my windowsill propagator so going to try Cephalotus leaf cuttings as well. I have a Mexican Ping I'm thinking of looking into how to do leaf cuttings, but the rosette looks quite young and has only just recovered from accidentally scorching the leaves in the greenhouse a couple of months back (it's now back in a large fish tank under a grow light!

    Thanks so much for this video! I followed your exact method with distilled water in the curry pot and have successfully grown some teensy plantlets from some Drosera Capensis. The plantlets are very fine and about 1- 1.5cm long (growing from the original leaf cutting) and I'm unsure when to remove them from the water? I have some carnivorous plant potting soil - should I remove the plantlets and lay them on top of the soil? Or leave them until they are bigger?

    • @carnivorous_plant_girl
      @carnivorous_plant_girl Рік тому

      If you have already sown the seeds then you can’t take them off the soil and let them dry out as it is then unlikely they will germinate. If the seeds were ripe when you sowed them then there is a chance they will germinate. If they were not ripe then it is unlikely they will do anything
