I have had tinnitus since 1984. Every moment of every day this ringing never goes away. it's in both ears. 40 years of noise. It's horrible but over time you learn to live with it. I also wear ear plugs every time I go to the movies.

Oh, come on, that's like expecting God to drop food on your table without working. I agree that church and clubs and so forth are better than apps, but people with character and integrity require some looking. I like Katie too much to give her such flippant advice.
@penultimateh766 If I have a choice between depending on an app or depending on God, it's God who I choose, yes praying to God to send you someone special is what God wants, you pray about it and let the Holy Spirit guide you. If you don't understand that then you are not of our Lord and Savior, God can do anything.

Great little video Katie 👏 I am so sorry that you have tinnitus, especially with being so young. I didn’t get it till after I retired. I believe mine was caused by my TMJ, because I was never big on going to concerts & was really never exposed to loud noises. But, I did discover that mine got worse when I took ibuprofen. I knew that aspirin could cause tinnitus. So, I stopped taking any over the counter pharmaceuticals and I don’t take any prescription medication’s at all. I had a naturopathic doctor recommend that I take a feverfew capsule & a White Willowbark capsule for any aches or pains. They work well for me. But, tinnitus is miserable & I feel bad for anyone that has to deal with it.

Friends I know who are people pleasers have had the characteristic of getting attached really quickly in relationships, so even short relationships are intense for them and maybe they were a little more committed to that relationship than the other person. It's imbalanced, so unlikely to work out.
I know exacty what you mean I had a friend who only, did what I wanted to do, listened to what i wanted to listen to and talked about what I wanted to talk about, it even got to a point where he would lie in order to agree with me/ make me happy. I felt like I was in a friendship with myself! I did not like that at all!
It’s better not to share everything about your life. I shared too much and it didn’t work out.

as a person with a physical visible disability what you are experiencing is called ableism particularly internalized ableism stop it seeing yourself as a burden is a stereotype stop stereotyping yourself

I have tinnitus and never been to a loud concert or worked around noise. The doctor told me it’s the brain filtering the noises. I get the people pleasing and so true!
Hey sis You and I are very alike. I relate to you alot Im too nice and Godly and people take advantage=trust issues and thinking critical and cautious about peoples intensions.. Im left handed too.
I think you can go easier on yourself regarding the front row situation. You were in a new place and you didn’t want to call attention to yourself. That is pressure that would not be there in most everyday situations. Perfectly understandable but unfortunate that you have lingering effects from it. I also think it isn’t a bad idea to be more “intimidating” than intimidated when you’re looking for a new church,. Which isn’t completely different from dating but there is a bigger power imbalance church/person rather than person/person. I hope that’s not too confusing.

i totally get the tinnitus thing i have it and it drives me nut i wear hearing aids with white noise option and it makes all the difference also 6 weeks is a big thing if the experience meant something to you that's what matters we all can benefit from journaling and learning and praying over the things that we find bad or good about ourselves

Katie, near the end you said “I didn’t really want to stand out” … that is different than people pleasing. They both come from insecurity but I think are different. Just something to think about. I wonder if your feelings and needs were ignored by a parent or friends when you were younger because, as we all know, it is all about childhood. Kudos to you to think about it, write it out and pray about it. Being a Christian for me when I was younger contributed to people pleasing because I had never learned about boundaries. You will figure it out. I also live with tinnitus and you do learn to ignore it but I hope more can be done to remedy it in the future as many people have to endure it. Love from Ontario ❤️🇨🇦🙏

I have been in Central Florida. The one thing I remember about it is the bugs, mosquitoes, fire ants and giant cockroaches. Plus the poisonous snakes.

My first marriage fell apart in my 20's, and I was in the dating world for an additional 8 years. Early on, my dating profile was dismal, at best. I did FINALLY figure out that if a guy asks me am I comfortable; I would tell him!! It took a long time for me to LEARN (and sometimes I fall back into the old ways). But, the more you do; the better you will get! 😎
I have diagnosed combined type Adhd , generalized anxiety , ptsd , and complex ptsd . I definitely feel like you may be talking about some sort of neurodiverence . And I'm also a big people pleaser due to childhood trauma . I do end up feeling resentful and burnt out when I'm not communicating boundaries for myself and others . Part of that is on me . But I do also feel like narcissistic personalities as well as more avoidant personalities take advantage of that . If you have a more avoidant attachment you'll probably be a taker from us people pleasers and not even realize you're doing which in turn builds up that resentment in people like us . I definitely feel like I understand a lot as I've studied a lot about my neurodiverence as well as attachment style . Also at work I struggle with asking for accommodations for my adhd which is a disability which I am still working on and do struggle with rejection sensitive dysphoria also due to the Adhd . I am also a Christian too .

We all want to be intimately attracted to our partner. Those who deny this, need to look in the mirror, & call themselves liars. Period. It's like, meeting someone who's "asexual." I would still consider that a relationship. I base relationships off of the emotional connection I feel with someone. I've had relationships for 3 months that taught me and fulfilled me more than a 3 year relationship has. Thank you for sharing this with us and the lessons you took from it. ❤

Katie, Ive had tinnitis for probably 15 years now. I went to a specialist, but he could not determine the cause. It caused me severe depression at first, but God has helped me live with it. I notice it can get louder at any point, but for me its caffeine thats the enemy.

Thanks for this and remember you are God's daughter.... I know for myself I have truly surrendered that aspect of my life to God FULLY. I hope you are able to give dating to God and truly trust his timing and care. God will guide you to the person he has for you and you for them. Learning to really love myself and creating a joyous life I truly do not care if I date because I am so so happy and my bar is very high to add anyone into my life.
There is so much to be grateful for and I will say getting a dog has helped me learn a lot about giving and receiving love.
I would never ever do dating apps- God is my only dating app :) but everyone has their own path. Let go and let God- calm is good.
