One of the biggest "I told you" moments ever: But OF COURSE, a true legendary maestro like Satch, who has openly expressed his genuine love for all things EVH, would KILL IT on this tour. He was never going to try and be a 100% Eddie clone - few to none on earth really could. Instead, like the consummate pro he is, Satch rebuilt his rig, invested massive time and effort to learn EVH's parts and then play them respectfully but with his own inimitable flairs thrown in... All those guitar igorant, non musician EVH cultists are eating their whiny words. Love it.
I watched a interview with Sam and Joe and Joe said Ed's music is one of the hardest things he has ever had to learn, because Ed Couldn't read Music he played everything by sound and his Fingers and his ear, So every time he played same song it was little Diff. never the same way. so even watching live footage it was Diff from night to night. But that was Ed. we all Loved it since 1978

If Panama wasn't on an album named after the year it was released in, I'm not sure Sammy would get the year right. All of his era songs he gets the year wrong. At this show he said "1993" for When It's Love.

It’s odd. Satriani is one of my all time favorite guitar players, and it’s probably safe to say he’s a better technical player than Ed. Yet, he struggles badly with Ed’s music. Then there’s Hagar. He’s a better technical singer than Roth, but he fails miserably at singing Roth songs. Both Sam and Joe hit the right notes (although Joe did botch that solo) but the swagger is completely missing. Classic VH was just a special, special band.
What the hell is the keyboard player doing? There's no tambourine or keys on Panama. When you aren't needed for a song, get off the stage. Go sing backing vocals from backstage.
Im a keyboard player, but as a fan in the audience it makes me crazy seeing someone play keys on a song that has none. If he’s “filling in the sound”, thats fine but turn the lights down on him or something

I was at this show. They actually did 3 DLR VH tunes: Panama, Ain’t talkin b love & Jump. The band sounded great! Go see them this tour if you can!
