Sammy was born in 1947, just like my dad, who passed on 2020. Watching him singing as if it was 1986 accompanied by the legends Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani and Jason Bonham, can only make my heart bump and think “This guys definitely rock!” I don’t care about details and styles, they’re in sync, and every one of them master their craft. Respect.
Was there last night and like Sammy said, it’s not a tribute but a celebration of the music. Joe/Jason not there to pretend they are Eddie and Alex. They have their own way of playing these songs. All you haters just don’t get this. This music was great when it was released and is still great today and is older fans enjoy it. You don’t like it, that’s fine as no one is forcing you to listen to it or attend the concert.
I'm 65 and I can remember all of these musicians when they first started out and have watched every one of them mature into very fine musicians. Yes, we will all miss the great ones who have passed away, but enjoy what we have today.
Was there in West Palm Beach for the tour kickoff show. Freaking monsters on the stage-Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani and Jason Bonham. They killed it. Loverboy did a great job in supporting them. If you can make a show, I would highly recommend it.
@@LOBOIV Hi - his name is Rai Thistlethwayte and he's in a band called Thirsty Merc (short for Mercedes, in their early days he had a petrol guzzler Mercedes).
40 years later and Sammy is belting out this gone like he just wrote it. And bless Satriani for helping Sammy's dream of playing these song live come true.
That’s awesome they started with Good Enough. Always wanted VH to open with that song back in the day but I don’t think they ever did. Thanks for the upload!
It’s funny. I was never a Van Hagar fan at the time, although I did see them once at Monsters Of Rock. But now I think I would rather see this line up then the last official Van Halen tour simply because I think Michael Anthony’s backing vocals were one of the most integral ingredients of the Van Halen sound. It’s great to hear his voice again. And this lineup of musicians is obviously stellar.
Going to the Charlotte, NC show Friday 7/19/2024. Can't wait. This will be my 4th time seeing Sammy and Michael, 2nd time seeing Satch, and 1st time getting to see Bonham! I am pumped. 2 of my favorite drummers growing up were the great Bonzo and Reverend Al!
I'm glad you're showing tribute Sammy to Van Halen's music which you were part of and you were part of that band the musicians around you, Joe, Jason, you know, all of you. You know, the bass player. You know, Anthony. Is there all great musicians? And others, no question and they all will play it their own way because they weren't part of Van Halen. But they are just as fine musicians, as Eddie and Alex and I love them both the same. And that's all I have to say good for you. I'm glad you're doing it, thanks.
2:14-2:36 i dont care what the whiney evh purists say, what joe did there was cool and anyone who says otherwise can eat shit and go watch some copycat nobody in their basement play vh. Ed never tried to replicate the studio lead live in 1986 and embellished on it and went off on it during the 5150 tour. That pick tapped melody and all the open string hammers and pulls that followed it was cool.
@booifojoe Ha! Yeah, he did. But here in Florida with the rain and humidity that night, I wish I had worn my beach outfit like he did! Nothing cooler than white linen my friend 😁

Yes sir!
👍 Agree
Everyone should be grateful that we even get an opportunity to see a priceless show like this!
Absolutely, Joe sounds INCREDIBLE and so does the band. So Happy for them all.
I was there last night. Amazing show and performance!
Priceless? Lol Yikes.
Nothing like seeing an old man with a perm, a beer gut, and skinny bird legs trying to dance around like it’s 1986.

Awesome. Nice to hear Eddie's riffs through Joe. I'm lovin' it. Good job, guys.
Play that Van Hagar, I love it. See you in Los Angeles!!!
Joe sounds epic here. Was funny to me after the Stern show many were doubting Joe.... The guy is a master !!
Sure is good to hear (and see) Michael Anthony again!

Bravo, Fucking Bravo!!!. Damn 75 or 76 years old and Sammy still has it like a 30ty year old.

Wow, so much better sounding than the rehearsals. Sounded amazing here, so can only imagine what it must have been like to be there!
Wow! The entire band and Sammy is killing it!
This lineup works for me 👍👍👍
Awesome, I love to see them write some new stuff too. Bring it back and forward!!!!
Wow!! Satriani sounded really good on this song!

That high note M. Anthony hits is just insane
OMG. I'm so excited for the Concord show. This is AMAZING!!!
Such a great lineup. 🔥
Satch did great. It's hard to cover Eddie, but he sounds phenomenal! They're all hitting on all 8 cylinders!

This was an AMAZING concert! Great venue too!

Absolutely Amazing considering thier age. Sammy sound fantastic to be almost 80 years old.
Those dudes can still play, and Sammy can still sing!

Love the swell on guitar riff
Great live tune and nice job filming it!

Joe's twist to Eddie's playing is awesome.
I was sceptical when they announced this but now Im jealous this isn’t scheduled for the UK.
Rock on!
So jealous of the people who went to this - really hope they come to UK / Europe
OH YEAH 😎😎😎🎸🎸🎸
So many people talking smack. Satch's solo was great! He did it HIS way, not even trying to play Eddie's solo. Sounded awesome!
Hagar looks like he just finished dry walling the basement and jumped on stage.

I Have liked Sammy Hagar. Since the first time on MTV, I can't drive 55.

Great voice and just an honest man.

I want one of those John Bonham bass drum heads real bad!
One is forced to give maximum rock effort while under the Six Eyes of Bonham.
Me too and I don't even play drums.
I'd be happy if they sold a round poster of the same picture! Bonzo rules!

It’s not an official release!
