The knowledge that you share is a vital resource for drummers. I would say that the MAJORITY of modern drummers (or we’ll say of all Americans..) have postural issues.
In a sense our body “dances” on our instrument, and any pain or discomfort is going to affect the dance! Thanks for sharing Brandon. I hope we can all play longer sessions until we grow old.

I love the way this evolves. You are the right man in the right time for this. I like a lot of your posture example, well known to all drummers, really not thinking you are picking on anyone. It just shows how much we can learn from past experiences and even mistakes, while not taking away from the greatness in other areas. I am rather sure many other things in life are progressing in a similar manner. It really appears they did not think about the health approach back then, when it came to sitting behind the drums. Naturally, other things, more related to practice, speed, technique, were in focus first. It is part of the evolution of drummers to embrace this kind of knowledge you share with us. Thank you so much for it!

    Woah!
Been actually contemplating on this for months now, I have developing my kick techniques, I also have been playing drums for 2 decades now. RecentlyI have been experimenting with full center positioning with my butt on the throne and sitting on the edge, since as you grow older you are more conscious of executing good technique.
Now, what I found out about MY OWN body is that, sitting at the center DOES NOT WORK for me and what I am trying to achieve.
Though I can understand that there would be less weight on each leg but sitting at the edge of the throne actually gives me more motion, and I think this is where "UNIQUENESS" comes in and that each drummer has different joint limitation and body function.
Afterall, I am not tall and I don't have long legs, so sitting at the edge actually helps me compensate with my kick technique, I actually also feel more comfortable and more in control with my lower extremities than sitting in the center of the throne.
I can also play with the weight of my leg to "catch" the rebound.
Seeing this video help me decide on which is the best sitting position FOR ME as a drummer!
    Thank a lot!
