    Even though this channel is still on UA-cam, the user got help after suffering from depression, which is why the terrifying videos we discovered were on here. Yeah I'm getting a bit where their coming from but that ain't converting me into an atheist or just anti religious in general. The old Imaginedom may can give questions and food for thoughts but reminder their words can be also not a healthy mindset since it feeds on too much negativity so much so you gonna end up ignoring the positive sides that may prevent you seeking for happiness.

    I relate to this channel a lot. I see the world as a cruel place with bad people. Yes people can be good but we're all bad people one way or another. The part about people with talent and no talent hit me the hardest though. I'm a person with autism and ever since I was a kid I've had trouble with many things, academics, socializing and other habits of life. I'm 17 now and going into senior year. People have talents and things they are good at taking those talents to universities. All I'm good at is drawing and art. I can't go to any art universities because they are either too far away or cost too much. I honestly don't know what I will be able to accomplish at all in my life. I had dreams as a kid. But now it feels like they have been crushed in a way. I'm going to end this here since I wanted to get my thoughts out in a way.

    I’ve never heard of this channel before, but everything that he brought up resonated deeply with me. Weirdly enough, I’ve come to many of the same conclusions Imagiondome has without ever hearing about the channel. The truth is, everything in life comes from selfishness in some way, even compassion comes from the need to build units for one’s own safety. Our morality systems are latent with double standards and surface level assumptions. For example, I am going to tell you a story a substitute teacher once told my class. There was a man who was down on his luck. He was addicted to heroin and his girlfriend had recently broken up with him. This man didn’t have a future, or at least a satisfactory one. Seeing no other way out, he drove his car off of a bridge. However, he survived and first responders were called. He was rushed to the hospital, where he recovered from the wreck. Then, the hospital charged him a bill he obviously could not pay for. Now, if you’re like me you could see how the hospital did nothing to help this man. In fact, instead of solving a single problem he was facing, they just prevented him from getting out of the mess he was in while adding a shit ton of financial debt to his list of issues. These doctors saved him because it’s their jobs to do so. Yes, they didn’t know his situation, but if they had would it have made any difference? There is a large enough stigma around suicide that most people don’t even care where these people are coming from. They get the idea that these people need to be saved, but they don’t think twice about how to save them. People can’t bare the guilt of someone associated with them committing suicide, so they do everything in their power to keep them alive. Even if it ultimately comes at the expense of the suicidal person.

    • @marmolejomartinezjoseemili9043
      @marmolejomartinezjoseemili9043 2 роки тому +23

      Statistics have shown that most people that have survived suicide have actually eventually been grateful for being saved, maybe not all but it's fair to say that it's better to save them because even if they don't want to be saved they can eventually attempt it again with better plans, but if they are successful at first there's no return to life...

    My point of view on nihilism is this: if everything is pointless, if there's no point to life but we keep living anyway, we may as well work to make others happy and ourselves happy, and minimize the amount of suffering in life as much as we can, y'know? If we're only here for a little while and there's no greater purpose, then why NOT spend our lives trying to make things better for ourselves and others around us? Like yeah, we can get depressed and lose hope, but like. Why not try to make things a little bit better for everyone suffering through life instead of just giving up and not doing anything? We're here anyway, we may as well do SOMETHING good with the time we have and give comfort and joy to people that they might not get from anywhere else. It's not like it's hard to do little things to make someone else feel better-- listen when they need to talk about something, get excited with people when they're excited for something no matter how small and pointless it is, smile at people, do little random acts of kindness, hold the door for someone or compliment someone's shirt or just. SOMETHING.
    Every little action you do affects someone else in this world. Why not choose to make those effects be positive and help lessen the amount of suffering in the world rather than just giving up because that suffering exists in the first place?

    • @nickolasperazzo8254
      @nickolasperazzo8254 2 роки тому +19

      I agree a lot with you, if you know that your existence is pointless, why keep suffering? Why keep feeling bad? This will change nothing, its better to enjoy that uselessness, to enjoy the time we have, even if we can't change the world, keep suffering only hurts, being happy, doing good things, in a small scale, can change something, so why not just enjoy? Enjoying and being good will reduce the badness, more good person will counter more bad person, its balance, don't let the bad dominate, because it only will let you more sour, like a cycle

    • @vodkasvoice
      @vodkasvoice 2 роки тому +7

      @Danny Mohamed Because why not? What else is there to do? There's no reason NOT to help others. And you should do things that make you personally happy as well. If there's no point to anything, then there is literally no reason to not try to make the time we have a little less miserable while we're stuck in it, y'know?

    • @vodkasvoice
      @vodkasvoice 2 роки тому +4

      @Danny Mohamed I mean, the end might not matter, but if the end doesn't matter then the present matters HUGELY, right? So if you're already in a mindset of "nothing matters in the end," you should focus on improving the present, since that's all you have.

    • @vodkasvoice
      @vodkasvoice 2 роки тому +6

      @Danny Mohamed oh I'm not advocating thinking everything is pointless! I'm just saying what I think is the most helpful and healthy way to frame it if you DO have that mindset already. Like, what I'm saying is that instead of thinking "nothing matters I shouldn't bother doing anything," it would be a lot healthier to think "nothing matters so why not have a good time and help others have a good time while they're here," yknow? If the present is all we have, we should make it the best it can be for ourselves and those around us.
      Besides, why should we need the threat of consequence? You should still be a good person whether you think you'll get in trouble for it or not. If your morality is based entirely around being good because if you don't you'll suffer in some afterlife, that isn't really YOUR morality and it isn't really all that moral in the first place, you know? You should be a good person for the sake of it, not to get yourself a happy ending.

    • @vodkasvoice
      @vodkasvoice 2 роки тому +7

      @Danny Mohamed Well yeah, but you can and should have morality without it being based totally on "oh I have to be good to get the Good Ending," if that makes sense? You should want to be good and moral because it's... the right thing to do, not because if you don't, you'll be punished. You should be moral and kind whether you think there's a big cosmic reason to or not, that's what I'm saying! Because there's literally no reason NOT to be moral. It makes life better and easier for everyone, imo, yourself included!

      I don't believe in Hell for that reason. I believe in Purgatory: You suffer for awhile, burn, live in pain, but you're not there forever. God is merciful, he would likely punish you for not believing or being bad, but not for an eternity. He'd bring you to Heaven eventually, in my belief.

      Here's something I want you to think about-- and I'm someone who also suffers from chronic, severe depression and anxiety, so this isn't some rando saying this out of nowhere. There are other people out there like you. I'm one of them. There are a LOT of us out here who are suffering, who struggle to find purpose. So what I'm gonna suggest to you here is what I myself have decided: why don't we, instead of giving up, try to make things a little bit less painful for those of us who have suffered so much? Offering comfort to someone in our position can be as simple as just listening to them talk when no one else will, or offering solidarity. We are suffering, but that doesn't mean that we always will be, and that we always have to be. We can take it into our own hands and do whatever little things we get the chance to do to care for each other, if no one else will care for us.
      Like yeah, the world sucks. People are shitty and awful, and a lot of us have been hurt and continue to be hurt. But that's why I think we should stand together and work to try and ease the suffering of others rather than give up. It doesn't have to be full-on epic saving someone else's life; just offering whatever little comfort or happiness you can to another person who is hurting can mean everything. It might be pointless in the long run, sure, but to that person, you could mean everything. I used to say when I worked as a cashier that I always smiled at people who came in, no matter how grumpy they looked, because you never know-- you might be the only smile that person sees that whole week. You don't have to save the world, you don't have to save another person-- just be kind and patient with those who are also hurting, and that alone is worth so much.

The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age."

    Found myself horribly shocked by this video. I remember seeing some of these videos long, long ago. I won't get too far into it, but I undoubtedly suffer through mental trauma on account of childhood abuse, and many of the philosophies behind these videos are constant thoughts that seemingly inhibit my ability to function to the degree of others. The idea that all life energy besides the absorption of sunlight is derived in suffering, as well as that we're then supposed to be judged based on behaviors that were predestined or known by an eternal entity that has invented not only an arbitrary ruling of law that only allows suffering that is deemed acceptable by groups that love to cause suffering is like a torturous poison that I can never be rid. I have talked very respectfully with some of my most adamant Christian friends, and I never have found a viable solution to the state of the world. That even grass should experience some measure of expressing distress and reason to warn other members of its kind tells me all I need to know about any divine entity - that they should make suffering the innate quality of life over joy or beauty. It undoubtedly involves a level of empathy for the devil, but nothing like satanism. An identification against God's unjust definitions of love based on fear, united only against the suffering of the individual over higher purpose and adoration for humanity just for existing as it does. So far as my eyes and ears concern themselves, I feel surrounded by pain justified by bizarre trivialities that I'm consistently told I'm "overthinking," when I feel as though I've offered any given thought with the same immediate process that feels natural and logical. However, I often feel very lonely in my mind, and like I have no way to express my thoughts unless to be shut down again for doing things, "incorrectly." I don't find it optimal or positive at all. It's a sort of empathic thinking that only targets the extreme. I spend a great amount of time overcoming these thoughts and making attempts at finding ways to distract myself from this premise. It's very relatable and satisfying to know that I'm not alone in this struggle. I have always wished I could save people, and the many answers offered to the questions of life have, rather than satisfied, made me much more deeply upset with the nature of being. I'm very appreciative that there are a great many Christians who work toward positive causes, but nothing ever rubs me right about God's demand for fear.

      I think that fearing God is a sort of metaphor to keep a healthy respect for the forces of nature, and the like, thus it keeps people from pursuing harmful things and keeps them grounded. At least that's how I interpret it without the imposing monumentality of christianity.
      Suffering is a pervasive aspect in arguably all religions, and what comes after suffering is I think what's important than to fixate on suffering itself.

    • @Arceus5555
      @Arceus5555 2 роки тому

      @@orangeman3220 thank you so much for engaging with my comment! There is nothing I like more than perspectives offered and genuine care taken to share human experience. I am always looking to see which angles I have overlooked, or further, things that need to be thought about. We are not perfect, and so frequently we fall victim too deeply into our most reactionary emotions. It's important to me that people respond so insightfully like this.
      To begin, I think that metaphor is always the best way to reflect on it. However, its manifestation, particularly throughout the old testament, and by those primary loud group of Christians who represent the religion's greatest pursuit of power decide that there is no metaphor to be taken, leads this, "fear of God," to represent something far darker for me, as it is in the case of stories like Job. Where others who believe in the benefits of the word of the Bible, but differentiate that while it illustrates the truth of God, it's metaphor all the same, they will find this wonderful and honorable truth to live by, without any conflicts that could lead them to endanger others, whether human, animal, or plant. In the book of Job, as I previously mentioned, Job's non-adherence to God's word is not corrected by mere failure or by his own actions, but instead, Job is scolded directly by God. There is no lesson that God explains. The only takeaway is to obey God or his wrath will destroy you before any ill side effects on earth will. It leaves no room for Job, as a person, to find that growth will come naturally from failure. A deviation from God, as Christ had composed it, would lead you down a path where the inevitability of your deviation from the word would lead you to learn. God does not see failure as the agent that teaches, and this is where I find his fear demands something cruel, dangerous, and thoughtless. It's why I think that corporal punishment is so intertwined with the bible. God illustrates that to those below you, there is no need to explain, and your decision does not need to be one that is sensible or logical. All you need to do is decide that you are correct, and flexing your guns is how you keep your sheep in line, if not torturing them. In a similar regard, I consider how many times in the Old Testament God uses his power as a means of inducing vengeance and fear. Such a case can be observed in the story of Samson, where rather than offer the people of Israel a prophet of love and/or diplomacy who could lead the people to find ground with great wisdom to find peace with the Philistines that leads them, too, toward God, he massacres them. He lays waste to them in ways so absurd they could be considered comical. To even acknowledge this within God's intent is to acknowledge that God finds it appropriate to massacre any mortal he plans already to make suffer eternally, if the word of the New Testament is to be considered the true follow-up to the collection of books in the Old. War is not something to be toyed with lightly. There is no doubt that of those thousand men massacred with a donkey's jawbone, hundreds of them perhaps had no reason to fight but to protect what they love. In this context, it weighs the pursuit of spiritual goal from outside of God as worthy of endangering everyone and everything you love, as well as making you worthy of brutal slaughter, followed by eternal punishment. A god who asks me to fear him by providing him power through such a means is clearly one that cannot morally govern a human being to do more than to truly fear, and that through this blind fear, any and all slaughter is acceptable. Therefore, to submit any part of this text to not be metaphor opens the door to an absurd amount of horror that demands submission or torture. It's very cruel, in that regard. I do believe ultimately that the word of Jesus was one that illustrates how to live free of pain, but the concept of God on the other side is where the true existential dread remains.
      Now for the discussion of suffering, I 200% agree! I see that the goal of every religion is to find a comfortable aversion to suffering. In my case, to deal with the thoughts composed of suffering and to know what the feeling of those thoughts are like has always been a great trouble. The greatest religious text I've found that philosophically works with that of suffering is in the Bhagavad Gita. Of course, chances are that this strength remains on the part that it comes from the context of an epic poem, and in that light, offers its entirety to be considered lesson and metaphor. The problem that I have with God's easing for real life suffering is that it encourages fully a life of fear from imperfection. Where the Bhagavad Gita focuses on how the attempt to achieve perfection can eternally bring you closer and closer to your goal, without the fear of death's judgment, God offers life as a game that can only end in your full and complete submission to him, lest you be tortured for eternity by his own whims. Hell is not any way to treat those you love, and it's undoubtedly no way to make the most stubborn submit to offering you love. Of course, it seems not to be the goal, more or less functioning as true, eternal retributive vengeance for your audacity not to bow and worship God, despite any evil he commits. Suffering, further, as a truth, is hard to chew on when you consider that all that everything is composed of was supposedly designed intelligently by God. This means every bit of agony, suffering, and death that any creature feels is by his own design. If that were not enough, he has given us, evidently not exclusively, as humans, the ability to perceive things that make us feel positively, and can go as far as to illustrate images of beauty beyond our wildest dreams could have indicated before. To design a system that constantly forces consciousnesses to pursue the elimination of others, always marked with something's agony, suffering, and/or death, illustrates a deity more cruel than merciful. Further, how many of these life forms have a soul? Is life itself not the very essence of the soul? Past descriptions of only human beings maintaining such a force brings even more questions into mind when we see personality and expressions of love expressed by so many animals. Are these just mere projections of the soul from the human mind onto these creatures? There's no telling why we feel this empathy for non-human creatures. However, if we're to interpret them as all uniquely holding souls, how can we feel confident in their constant massacre? Where vegetarians offer a solution in straying from creatures that are easy to empathize with and that scream, what do we say about plants? Does grass have a soul? Does its emission of the smell it leaves after being cut, intending to reach other blades of grass and offer something of a distress call or warning, prove desire? Is it just a simple chemical process, or is that ability for it to suffer the nature of the soul? If suffering is the nature of the soul without solace found outside of it, then what can be said of God? Why is it that each system he proposes is composed entirely of suffering? It can never rub me the right way no matter what angle it's interpreted. With all due respect, however, I do find that many passages in the bible offer great solutions that make life feel much more wonderful for millions of people, but it always begs the question of why any caring being would construct such a place for his "children," in which they cannot even imagine a structure existing that interests them enough outside of some eternal factor of suffering. It seems all too cruel, and ironically immature and extreme of an eternally wise, shapeless, omnipotent being.

    If the words “what the fuck” was a UA-cam channel. But I’m really glad that their whole perspective on live has been changed and that they’ve received help for their depression. I think a huge reason why so many people view life and existence as cruel and horrible, is because THEIR lives are like that but once taken out of those circumstances, their whole perspective will change forever. And that’s the greatest way to save anyone.

    I personally have known and currently know the guy y'all know as FlamePillow or Imaginedom. It's a funny story because they used to be a very... Particular individual. We used to meet eye tyo eye in our commentaries about how disturbing the world outside was... It was surreal that one day, he disappeared without a trace and stopped responding to my messages.
    Out of sheer coincidence, I was able to find him and now they're an aloof idiot who constantly hides in pots and reminds me of their existence whether I want to or not.... And they're a great friend of mine who knows how much I've been through and somehow has used me as encouragement to go through life's trials and tribulations while being more positive and ambitious. They are a cool person to hang around with and while I may act irritated around them a lot, I appreciate the fact that they still think about me and are good friends.
    It's probably not what you'd expect out of their channel but that's the story... Just as odd as the creator behind it.

      Oh, and it should also go on without saying. But we also tend to discuss heavy subjects from time to time. That insightful commentary on life made FlamePillow my own hope in hell because... Whenever I feel like I am in a world that despises and misunderstands me... Flame will always be there.... Probably watching me from the nearest window or some shit like that.

    His entire journey has a point, either you get "help" and live with lies that will improve your life towards "happiness" or choose the cold hard truth that will leave you sad and broken at the end of the day. I choose the latter one, better be sad and aware than surrounding yourself with lies and lies from other people who just want you happy. I need none of that. After all, what is the purpose of happiness if you got it from lies?

    Honestly, it seems to me that all this anger and darkness came form a place of deep compassion/empathy for others- caring for those suffering in hell, being angry at a god who would allow pain to exist in such a way, etc. I myself am pretty compassionate and the burnout I deal with not only trying to keep up with the news but watch out for the people I love is overwhelming sometimes. It's hard for people with very high compassion/empathy to go through life without becoming hardened or cynical towards the horrors of the world or towards religion and I'm glad at least this guy got help and is doing better with his mental health.

He gives us challenges, temptations, all these suffering over wordly things just to test the endurance of our faith. Remember the story of Job and the Seed that fell on the rocky soil of the Parable of the Sower.
    But I'm glad that this person has gotten better, I hope he is always healthy and strong in faith so that he can get a better insight and view of God.

    And perhaps most frightening of all I really understand what he's saying about euthanasia.
    I'm afraid because I thought I had recovered from my depression but I'm wondering if I really haven't and if there's any hope for me to be an actually balanced person capable of surviving on her own
