This phase bug has occurred since the beginning of WoW. It's part of the AQ40 opening event that spawns mobs with these exact names in the Barrens and other places. They are not well known at all as during the event, everyone was in Silithus and rarely was someone actively levelling in the Barrens at the time. They drop greens and blues.
