I have a zoology class im taking for my senior year and we have to bring a small pet to school. I didn’t even think of using a plastic bin as a portable enclosure but it sounds perfect for my pixie frog! Thanks!
Idk if you're caught up with a job you have or something else but I love your videos and you should definitely keep posting videos regularly, your channel will grow even more!
I have the same setup for a pacman frog and my Pacman frog developed a skin infection due to the lack of ventilation I didn't poke enough holes and the cage got too humid and bacteria thrives in humidity I noticed the top of your cage has no holes heads up poke lot of holes on the top if you spray that much water because in the wild yes they live in humid areas but they're not in a box there's wind coming from all over
Thing with Pac-Man and pixie frogs. They don’t need crazy space like I’m seeing in some of the comments. Because once they get bigger. They don’t move. Lol. Can’t be cramped though...
Great video, thanks for making it. I get the sense that these guys are very hardy when it comes to temperature. I generally keep my room around 73 degrees but it occasionally gets as low as 65 in the winter and as high as 82 in the summer. Would they be able to tolerate that range? I've never owned an amphibian, do these guys need a temperature gradient like snakes? If I need supplementary heat, do you recommend a heat mat or a CHE bulb? Thanks!
Just an idea but it would've been better if you'd buried the bowl of water into the dirt for one it'll leave a bit more room for the lid and two it looks more natural especially if you were to use a dark coloured container other than that nice little set-up and quite useful information thank you 😉
Hello Garrett, he's a cute chubby thing. You had me thinking maybe for my reptile room someday.😄 Then you said feed a small rodent. I will never get over that one even frozen. Their so cute😕. Have the same problem with horn worms. I know I'm weird 😃 How old is you frog? God's blessings to you, Lin
Do you not use any heating for the frog? What would you recommend for heat source? In the winter where I'm at it's a struggle to keep place over 70 degrees lol
Tim where I live it’s pretty temperate, and I am able to keep my rooms ambient temp at around 78 degrees. If you live somewhere colder I would recommend a small heat mat, but do not apply it directly to the bottom of a plastic bin like this. Huge fire hazard. I would set it up to where there is a grate or barrier below the tub protecting it from the heat pad directly. Also a thermostat that you can regulate a constant temp is going to be a must where you live.
Tim u can also put a heating pad under the substrate and decorations...tip: they enjoy plants and catching their for i reccomend for a little "scavenger hunt" some crickets but you can always find earthworms just in your backyard for free
If you live somewhere warmer im sure its not a problem but if you need a heat lamp I'd say cut the top and glue a screen on there. They arnt escape artists so it dosnt need to be super strong unless you have cats that would sit on top. (If you have cats or dogs that want to open the box I would use small chicken wire that you can screw to the top) trile and error but experiment with what works.
Hey there, just wondering how often you feed them? The type of diet makes sense but just interested in how many insects you would ideally give them in a day
its a pretty good starter pet since they are fairly easy to take care of frog wise. just dont put them together since bullfrogs are known to eat basically anything they could fit in there mouths including other frogs. they also get up to 10 inches long do id recommend a bigger enclosure too
Hi from England 🏴 I love your little fella and I not long got one myself. Totally adorable. Question: do you ever find the substrate starts to smell after a couple of weeks? I’m not sure what to do about it... I change his water almost every day where he goes to the toilet (not in the substrate, but maybe he pee’s in it...?) Have you got any suggestions how I can change this? Many thanks in advance. 😊

I had a pacman and his set up was so simple compared to any other frogs I've keeped before
Great enclosure but it could be a tad bit bigger
Actually it doesnt really madder a 10 gallon and up os all they need all there life because they dont move at all
@@lizardjoe4224 they move more than pac man frogs
@@lizardjoe4224 a 10 gallon is way to small

Jeff Bns I will! Which videos do you like best?
@@GarrettRosethese pixie frog videos are great

Thanks for this, these look like a lot of fun to keep.
I’m so happy because I talked to my mom and she said I could get a Africa pixie frog
Yay 😁😁🥳🥳
Good thing you didnt call it black.

You don't have to feed them rodents but you should
Do not get one if your not willing to feed what it eats
i see both people in the comments saying you should feed them rodents, they dont need rodents but maybe one every once a month, they eat anything
9:22 That’s the same website I looked at to see what I need for one of these frogs
4:54 was follow the damn train CJ.

Oh for sure, yeah I wouldn't be using a tub, I have a 10 gallon pretty much just waiting till I can get a a pixie or pacman at a expo sooner or later.
Tim hopefully you can get a baby one! It is so rewarding watching them grow.

@@kiki-drawer2669 I found a heating pad that sticks underneath tank. Never knew lol
What about temperature?
Hey there, just wondering how often you feed them? The type of diet makes sense but just interested in how many insects you would ideally give them in a day
Lauren Radey 3 times a week as much as they can eat in about 15 minutes
.
Would an African bullfrog make a good second frog? The things I’ve seen said it was a hood beginner but others said it’s a more advanced pet.
Def not an advanced pet. Its the easiest creature I have ever taken care of.

How do you keep the frog temperature at 77 to 82 degrees, I didn’t see a heat lamp
Where did you get that water dish looks neat i want one too
What about when he gets too big for that tank

Hello I would say to change the substrate every 4 weeks.
You can make ur setup bio active so the isopods and springtails can clean the tank and substrate to keep it nice and clean
Love the vid!!!!
Can I youse we’ll water for the warter dish
Is it hard to clean up after your frog?
Small for that seems a bit small for a frog that can grow up to 4 lb and 9 inches long
Very interesting!
Do you need to mist your African bullfrog?
Did you even watch the full video? He mists the tank in the video
Is this a giant pixie frog?
Great video but they don't eat birds! I know its 4/20 but I'm not that high.
How muck does one costs?
Nice female
Do they fit in a 18 gallon tank
They can be in a 10, so certainly.
lmao, i got a 80 gallon tank for mine and hes still a baby
👍
Isnt that kind pf small???
Is that big enough?
Yes. But only for young frogs. African bulldogs grow a freaking huge size. They'd never fit into that box anymore. :)
Dang i want 1 so bad. They kill so many insects :D
Never just tap water. It will cause hormonal imbalances. And he can't reach the pool. It needs to be taller.
froggo
Get a turtle
Half land half aqutic? I think it's called semi aqutic
Shut your godamn mouth
Shalom
שלום עליכם
To small!
im sorry but this is extremely cruel this animal is half the size of the fkn box who du you think you are?
Ugly setup
