People just don't understand that from the beginning to the end of the Bible God calls his people not to take on the practices of the pagan. Where did tattooing come from. Did Bill Graham have one? How about D. L. Moody? Charles Wesley? Is this a traditional Christian practice or a traditional pagan practice? “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,” (2Corinthians 6:17)
It's rather amusing to see that people who call themselves Christians will bicker and argue amongst themselves to such an extent as I see here instead of sharing love. Pray. Do your best to do what is right. None of us know all the answers.
Just artwork, and it all depends what the artwork is. You wouldnt write the f word in the sanctuary of a church so why put the f word on your face. As long as its not profain or sinfull in nature, naked woman, offensive, ect... i dont see the issue personally
2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
@thefluffster101 No. As I've said in other postings, you would be glorifying the ego through self mutilation. Why do you want this tattoo? To upload it on UA-cam and present it to the world as "evidence" of your faith? That's pure ego.
These comments are very saddening. I think we Christians need to remember that one sin is no worse than another. So if tattoos are a sin, it's no worse than thinking sinful thoughts. Besides, both can be forgiven so no need to continue putting people down for their mistakes.
Katherine Winberry ..remember..we are talking about Christians wanting tatoos. We are to die to our fleshly desires not give into them and be as the world is. And the excuse of..'it will be a conversation starter'..is just that..an excuse to do what the flesh desires! It's glorifying self! Jesus never said;'go get tatooed or body pierced etc as a way of witnessing! Come on Christians we to be ambassadors for Christ..
Isn't it written in the bible that our body is the temple of the holy ghost and that we should not defile it. My question isn't tattooing a sort of defiling the body? Thanks for your videos and please keep adding more.
To who ever quoted scripture about nothing separating us from God's love: Just because the word says how nothing can separate us from God's love, it doesn't mean we won't go to hell for how we live. The word also tells us not to conform to the patterns of this world. The bible does not contradict itself. How can you promote looking like the world by getting tats as a believer and then tell those who come to Christ to not be like the world? Contradicting don't you think? The word says SIN separates us from God, not from His love. God will always love us no matter what we do, but that doesn't mean we won't go to hell for how we live our lives rejecting him and his word.
Like I said that chapter is talking about sexual immorality. So it goes on in Leviticus to say not to shave our faces or wear clothing of two different materials what do you think of that
We are human for a reason. We like to explore and try new things. People shouldn't judge over the idea of modifying the body. Also so the comment on the bum idea... that is just judgmental to the max..
GOD IS SPIRIT AND NOT FLESH AND BLOOD LIKE WE ARE. SO PEOPLE MUST NOT MISINTERPRET IT WHEN GOD SAYS IN ISAIAH 49:15 THAT "HE HAS ENGRAVED...." MY OPINION IS THAT THE WORD "ENGRAVED" MAY NOT HAVE THE SAME MEANING AS "TATTOOED".... WHEN REFERRING TO GOD WHO IS A SPIRIT BEING.
It is also good to remember that certain cultures would not listen to a Gospel spoken by someone with a tattoo, a cultural mannerism akin to Muslim men not listening to women or even not listening to a man who's wife is not properly "covered." All this to say that great weight should be given, as Pastor Levi said, and we can make wise decisions regarding our influence in the entire world. 1 Corinthians 10:23-24 is a great verse when talking about these types of topics.
I'm offened to be called a BUM!!! Because I live with my father and mother also I'm my mother's carer as in I take care of my sick mother. Oh yeah one more thing doesn't say in the Ten Commandments "Honor thy Father and Mother."

@duckjockey10 He's just fickle about it. It was wrong for people back then but now it's a Christian liberty, which may be the case. If you have tattoos great, you got tattoos. But for him to take a secular standpoint on it is seeker friendly. Marking your body is never an act of worship. We worship God in spirit and in truth. So he's just plain wrong about that.
Why the "pastor" said that the verse in Leviticus is no longer relevant... is not true...: Luke 21:33 "Heaven and earth will come to an end, but my words will not come to an end.", 2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness", Revelation 22:18-19: For I say to every man to whose ears have come the words of this prophet's book, If any man makes an addition to them, God will put on him the punishments which are in this book: And if any man takes away from the words of this book, God will take away from him his part in the tree of life and the holy town, even the things which are in this book." In fact here is answer: 2 Timothy 4:3-4: "For the time will come when they will not take the true teaching; but, moved by their desires, they will get for themselves a great number of teachers for the pleasure of hearing them; And shutting their ears to what is true, will be turned away to belief in foolish stories."

2 Timothy 3:16 says "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness" this man is being deceived by his own flesh. By saying that the verse in Leviticus is no longer relevant, he is committing a grave mistake.
Alabaster Stone ok. Let's live by all the bible verses. Do you shave? Does your shirt is 100% cotton? Because in Leviticus right next when it says not to mark your skin it says not to shave your beer and not to wear clothes with a combination of fabrics
Isiaiah 8:11 is actually a preamlbe to a list of actions regarding trust in God (see Isaiah 8:*11-17*). A more applicable verse would be Romans 12:2. In either case, both refer to "following the way of the world" in one's thoughts. Romans 12:2 refers to changing one's ways of thinking. It discusses the mindset the world uses. For instance, the world celebrates Christmas for materialism. Does this mean we should stop celebrating? No, it means we should use Christmas to remember Jesus.
@whiskerstea I agree that we should look at what the Bible says to make decisions rather than man's personal opinions. But you contradict yourself when you say that jeans and hoodies are disrespectful in the house of the Lord. I think it's your personal opinion rather than what the Bible says. I don't know your background but as far as my own goes, the Bible doesn't tell us to wear three-piece suits or tucked in shirts in the house of the Lord. It's something man came up with.

Anything that we do to our bodies that can bring harm is willful disobedience to the Lord. Tattoos are not only expensive but getting a tattoo increases your risk of contracting life threatening diseases, infection and possible disfigurement and scarring. They can be used as a testimony of how we can easily be led astray so they can be used for good but not when we choose to get them after we've been washed by the blood of Jesus. Speaking the gospel should be done by hearing it from the mouth of a person or by spending intimacy alone with God reading holy scripture.
