In this two-part series, Pastor Levi Lusko of Fresh Life Church talks about how the life and death of his daughter Lenya have shaped his family since her passing.
Pastor Levi uses 2 Timothy 1:10 to show how Jesus turned off the darkness and brought life through the Gospel. Pastor Levi gives four ways to make it through grief, from remembering how close Heaven is, sticking together in LifeGroups, facing our pain head-on, and calling on God.

Levi Lusko, Thank you for your words of encouragement through the death of your sweet Lenya Lion. Our daughter died from Cancer November 14, 2011. This is the verse we have on her headstone “And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To Him be the power and glory for ever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 5:10, 11. Brianne is with Her Jesus whom she loved the most and who loves her beyond anything we can think or imagine.

I’m in the waves right now. My Precious Mama passed almost six months ago, from covid. Sorrow upon sorrow has never touched my life (praise God) like it has been mauling me for the past six months. “It hurts like hell even when you know they’re in Heaven!” Yes. I’m sorry you understand this pain, the cost is immeasurable. You have shown me a glimmer of hope and I’m laughing through the tears.
God is right beside you! Do not think you will experience this pain forever Shawnie. Your Mother is smiling down from heaven and you WILL see her again! Until then, we're praying that Jesus touches you and helps you feel his comfort. He is our friend who sticks CLOSER than a brother. We are also here for you for anything you may need! In Jesus name. 🙏
