I am a diabetic with a host of health issues. I’ve survived cancer twice. My doctor put me on Ozempic two years ago to help control my glucose levels. I have no side effects and my numbers are perfect. It also motivated me to eat a healthier diet and move my body every day. I do have a lot of loose skin. But the benefits outweigh the negatives. Ozempic was made for diabetes
I lost both. But my blood pressure is at the healthiest. My knee no longer needs immediate surgery. My hip no longer needs immediate surgery. I can play with my 8 year old and go on school trips with him cause I can fit in the school seats now. So saggish butt and saggish face is worth preserving my life.
That's actually what she said, in order to have a fuller face as we age...you are going to have the fuller ass too. ...if the ass goes, the face falls. Sag, is just no glutes. 😕
There are many benefits of losing weight one of them is to regain mobility. Be able to walk longer distances. Less knee pain. Getting dress, bending down. I hope that in the long run this med is safe to take.
Oh wow, ok I'm going to look into this medication. I need to lose 70 lbs or more. Disabled and I'm sure I'm at least pre-diabetic. Just need to confirm it with new primary care.
@laurenhoffman2751 about 4 months. But I'm extremely active, and my job is extremely physical, with a lot of walking and lifting . So, being active was key
@TrollBaby14 I had lost around 50 lbs and my blood pressure was low. They cut my meds in half. Lost the 20 more and they ended up having to take me off the meds completely.
I naturally lost over 130 pounds- I discovered a huge amount of food allergies I had of which I wasn’t aware. I also have EDS. My face will never look like it did when I was at an unhealthy weight, or younger. That’s fine. I look like I’ve smiled a lot, and not slept well. Both true. We cannot outrun the bodies we are born into, but we can learn to love and accept them, with whatever grace we can.
"Smiled a lot and not slept well" is such a sweet description of those tired lines around the eyes and mouth. 😀 I use a red led lamp (Dr. Dennis Gross) which helps a lot with restoring collagen in my tired face. But yeah, we have lived and it shows. Kinda okay. 😊
i have body dysmorphia. i dread every wrinkle i get and volume loss makes me very sad. coping with it has required me to decenter my appearance from my value- easier said than done right? hang in there. one day we will all be wrinkled and all we will have are splendid stories and divine wisdom that no amount of youth could replace.
Losing a good amount of weight without Ozempic has the same facial results that happen with Ozempic. You're losing fat, so your previously plump face will now sag and look less filled-in and older. Not everyone will look like this, but MANY people will, especially if they are middle-aged or older.
It's not just fat. You lose muscle mass which makes you even more vunreble to regain weight .... but sure let's all jump on the thyroid cancer pharma for life drugs....
@@bdlimea7018ozempic face moreso refers to people who were already thin who are on ozempic. if you are thin and lose a few more pounds gradually you won’t have loose skin but if you do it rapidly you will.
@@ralitzatreneva8999, true... but only if the weight loss is very gradual. If a lot of weight has been dropped in a fairly short amount of time, as Ozempic or unhealthy diets do, the effect is the same.
People who use Ozempic only to lose some weight which is not medically necessary should really not do it. Also stock are experiencing shortages of Ozempic for people that really need it.
@@xyz5765 you are very ignorant! It’s not a matter of ‘gorging’ . I have a hypothalamic brain tumor that has made my hormonal systems worthless. No, I don’t think so….So before you go off on people, get ALL THE FACTS

Ozempic has helped me with PCOS related weight and hormonal issues that could not resolve with diet alone and then Long COVID fatigue - I’ve really enjoyed being on it. ❤
It helped with long COVID too?! Maybe that's why my Dr offered it. I also have endometriosis. I gained so much through being sick (from COVID & before). I was scared to take it because I wanted to know what the heck is wrong with me. At least I finally (FINALLY!) have a Dr who cares❤️
Oh Julia…I’m considering it for past 8 months. I have same as you did…hormonal weight…PCOS haven’t tested for it…but, this weight is hard. 40 lbs…in 2 years.
54yrs old and on ozempic for almost a year, but I’ve been staying on the lowest dose possible ( .25mg ) this entire time and have lost the weight slowly which has allowed my skin to acclimate to the gradual weight loss. Of course at 54 I don’t expect to look 30 any longer, however most guess my age at least 10yrs years younger and are always surprised to find out I’m in my fifties.
Yes I’m thinking of just staying on the lowest dose too. Like doing a micro dose rather than a macro dose. Glad to see low dose is working for someone! Makes me confident to keep going. I don’t want to lose it fast either 😅
Congratulations! 😊 I’m losing it slowly too at 1mg per week (anyway they don’t sell the 2mg in Canada). 21 pounds lost so far in 6 months out of 80. I can’t wait to be done, but I tell myself that at a slow pace I won’t get any sagging skin.
side note.....these GLP-1 meds not only help with weight, blood sugar, etc., but they have worked AMAZINGLY to stop smoking 😳 say what you want about these meds, but i've watched sooooo many family/friends that have had life transformations on this stuff.

People act like facial fat loss is some new thing. I've seen people who have lost significant weight without Ozempic with the same effect on their face. I'm sure I will too when I get there. It happens with significant weight loss.
I'm 62 and went on the carnivore diet in January 2024. Losing 30lbs in 5 months felt fast but I was surprised that my face hasn't suffered much. Carnivore helps you lose weight as fast as ozempic so I'm glad I went in that direction.
There is some truth to saying you have to choose- but it’s hard to hear this from someone who isn’t that age yet. I’m 50 and I’ve lost weight. I get biostimulators in my face to produce collagen. You don’t have to choose these days. Biostimulators work great and support the fat pads without filling the face or distorting it like fillers. People, there are a 100 ways to look great! Losing weight can save your life! It lowers blood pressure and has a whole host of other benefits. Remember that.
I would also love to know what biostimulator has been successful for you. There's so much nonsense and paid ads online it's hard to even tell what's real anymore when researching these things.
I think Ozempic weight loss merely reveals the age related changes that have already taken place with or under the skin (like fat pad migration or loss, orbital bone shrinkage, skin laxity) but have been masked by excessive weight.
There also tends to be a higher percentage of muscle loss, as well. Weight loss always involves some muscle loss, but these drugs typically cause a higher rate, which can accentuate any loss of volume.
I’ve been on Ozempic for a medical condition many years ago and unintentionally lost 100lbs in two years. I have such minor sagging in my face because the weight came off slowly and I was already doing all the right things, don’t crash diet or lose it fast because you’ll not look how you want!
just a reminder that some overweight/obese patients are prescribed ozempic and similar medications by actual doctors. it’s used by diabetics and to combat obesity in patients. the people without prescriptions are the ones that should be criticized. *of course it can be only accessed by prescription but people are purchasing it under the table while at an average weight/no valid reason for the medication. it’s honestly not very hard to find people reselling it.
@@jojose417people can get them ... friends that are doctors, greedy doctors. You don't seem to really grasp how the world really works. Lots of people don't follow the rules 😂
I insulated my face from years of aging by stuffing it. When I decided to stop that practice, the wrinkles that lie in wait caught up with me - it's going to happen, no matter what - maybe not so bad if you lose it slowly and you are younger. That said, I earned every line on my face and every wrinkle in my sagging birthday suit. While I want to look my best, if someone doesn't like the road map of life that I wear each day, that has more 'information' on it with each passing day - they can stop looking at me. :)
I lost 130 lbs on my own and it was fantastic for about 2 years. Then I turned 50. I have lots of extra skin and my face looks older now . However….losing the weight is the best thing for your health if you’re 80+ lbs overweight.
I had gastric bypass surgery(I lost around 300 lbs), losing weight in the face is natural. I knew when I got to a certain weight & people kept asking if I was ok, I knew I lost too much. Which was a bummer, because even tho I looked sickly - I wasn’t at my *goal weight*. I mean, look at Tammy from ‘Thousand Lb Sisters’, or anyone after a major weight loss - the vast majority get pelican necks. I thank God I still had youth on my side/good skin, and didn’t have that problem.
I had gastric bypass and just 154lbs, I'm one of the fortunate ones who didn't end up with a lot of lose skin all over my body.. even when I was pregnant though I didn't Even get stretch marks so I knew my shin had good elasticity
I feel like some of the way the skin adjusts to massive, rapid weight loss, can be effected by genetics as well. Everyone's skin is different. I lost 100lbs in about 18 months. I didn't have "Ozempic face" but some people can get it from losing 20 lbs.
The truth is when your malnourished your whole body suffers along with your health. Your whole body works together not in parts. This also happened when phen phen came out in the 80’s. Sick, malnutrition and many had permanently damaged hearts.
The truth is, ill health caused by obesity is far more common than malnourishment. Also, phen phen is a stimulant and very bad for your heart, the same way meth is bad for your heart. Ozempic and similar medications are not stimulants and have actually been in use for years (for diabetics), so we have a very good idea of the side effects and risks.
At 43, I surrendered and I love it. I'm a gorgeous, plump Sicilian woman with beautiful skin. You don't like it? I love it and byeeeeeee... I highly recommend because while I didn't have Ozempic face, I had eating disorder (bulimia, mostly) face for over 20 years. No disordered eating and confidence will help you out, facts.
Can I just tell you how much I love you dr. Idriss!! I just appreciate all your knowledge and wisdom and hope you know how much you’ve taught me. Thanks for your no nonsense advice BUT also for keeping is NO judgement either! ❤❤❤❤
IKR? I’m experiencing it as I type this! However, my health is way more important to me than my drop in my face. I still think my face looks good. Not like before but good. I’ll be 50 this year and I had to get some weight off now. ❤
Thank you for this video. I am considering going on Wegovy. I have serious arthritis in my hips, knees, ankles & feet. I've always been active but the past 5 yrs i can no longer do the things i enjoy. A big day for me is going to a dr appointment or a haircut. I'm now 180 lbs and hit the obese category. I need to take weight off to try and ease my joint pain but just going for a walk is excruciating. I feel like I'm caught btwn a rock & a hard spot. I eat very little but still can't lose weight. Chances are i will try the Wegovy. Thanks for this info.
When I was on weight watchers I became convinced their 8 glasses of water a day was the secret to weight loss. We had to track everything we put in our mouths and if I had a week with insufficient water intake those were also the same weeks I didn't lose as much weight. Even with food consumption being the same. Make sure you are eating enough fruit and vegetables.
This is very true! I've dealt with this from losing weight the natural way. I've picked a good amount of weight back up because of hormonal changes and my face looks more plump and youthful again. As you age for most of us, it's damned if you do and damned if you don't. Choose wisely.

THEY WERENT "ASSUMING" anything LOL. You're giving them an unncessary lecture with a condescending tone and they weren't even wrong....@ayemiksenoj5254
I used Ozempic to help "aid" my weight loss journey as I had over 100lbs to drop. I did it very slowly, it took me 1.5 years to lose the weight, in combination with MASSIVE lifestyle changes. Meal prep, mindful portion sizes, clean eating "80/20" rule and consistent exercise/activity 5-7 days a week. I can happily say that at 35 my face didn't "drop." My ass got smaller, but it's more toned and lifted with consistent strength training workouts. I'm perfectly okay with that!! I think this "theory" will vary from person to person. Don't let information like this "scare" you from taking Ozempic. Use wisely :)
Thank you for sharing this, I plan on going very slowly. My first doctor's appointment to discuss is tomorrow. Although I am 20 years older I am hoping that going slowly and strength training will help. My question For you is- have you stopped using it and if you have, Have you seen any weight gain? Would you plan on using it for the rest of your life? Or do you plan on using it on and off to maintain your weight I was just wondering if you've had any effects after stopping, for example, It being more easy to gain weight? I appreciate any insight you have and any advice for someone about to embark on the journey.
@@ttthecat Thank you for your question! I took Ozempic for 20 months to lose 100lbs. Instead of suddenly stopping the medication, I gradually weaned off it. It has been 10 months since I stopped taking Ozempic, and I have not gained any weight back. In my opinion, the key to success is continuing to make lifestyle changes. After stopping Ozempic, I did notice a slight increase in my appetite, and my portion sizes are slightly bigger than when I was actively trying to lose weight. Personally, I have found that maintaining my weight is much easier than trying to lose weight. Best of luck on your weight loss journey. Believe you can do this :)
I've taken both Ozempic and Mounjaro at different times for diabetes, and they have both worked very well with zero side effects. My HbA1c is currently 5.1, and has been for a long time. Any weight I've lost as a result of taking these medications is just a bonus. My skin may be looser, but I'm healthier and happier and that's more important to me! As a RN, I've seen patients during and after weight loss through various means and they've also had loose skin. It's just what happens.
Thank you Shereene, for sharing the fact about more than 10 lbs at a time, could cause sagging in the face. I have never heard anyone say that before. I really NEED to lose weight-- for every reason. I will just go slow, to give the skin on my face and body time to go back.
Thank you for saying this. I had a quick 60lb weight lose in my mid 50's and the face did fall and not evenly. I think it's vital for young ladies to know if they want to look youthful as they age. 1. Maintain a steady weight. 2. Sunscreen. If they follow the 1st two things and have a good skincare routine. It will extend their youthfulness. The tightening treatment you mentioned can elaborate on that treatment, including price. Thank you. Great video
100% going to judge hard. The majority who contributed to the shortage made it practically impossible for the people who need this life saving, that majority gave insurance companies reasons to not give Ozempic out. Ozempic happens to be the least terrifying out all of those life saving pens and the easiest to use. It also happens to be one of the least nauseating semaglutides out there. Also the needle that needs to be injected in you subcutaneously is one of the least painful. It hurts but it’s way better than Trulicity. Trulicity, you can’t even think about eating if you’re always nauseous. With Ozempic, you just don’t feel hungry. I will judge to the heavens and the hells. I don’t care about people losing their ass or their face because of Ozempic. I care about the lives we are losing because of the lack of access these VAIN assholes. I care about MY LIFE. Unlike many people who believe Diabetics deserve to suffer and die, I have family who love and care about me. I worked my ass off to try to live. I am still trying my hardest. I have 0 sympathies for the vanity of the people who abused this life saving medication. I do have 100% sympathy if it’s the case of, “Life saving medication did the life saving but now I have a weird face.” That, I have empathy for and will not judge. If it isn’t clear, I do have personal concerns regarding this matter.
Sorry not sorry but I will continue to criticize and judge people who are already skinny as hell taking Ozempic to get even skinnier. For what? Aesthetics? I think it is highly unethical and it shows how bad people want to be skinny even desperate enough to take something they DO NOT need. There are even programs that have “private” doctors helping people get a prescription for it while those who actually need it are suffering. I can’t imagine if I no longer had access to my life-saving heart medication because of an online trend. I would be devastated and people have a right to be.
@@jasminegreen1687 you have no idea WHY others take it. You don’t know their history, their existing issues or anything, do you?! I say sunscreen, moisturizer, exercise , less coffee, lots of water and face exercise . It helps with all of the aging part. Especially the sunscreen and moisturizer. It keeps the hormonal hyperpigmentation at bay. I learned the hard way. But I exercised from the two weeks after weight loss surgery. I didn’t even need a tummy tuck after over 160 loss. I do need arm skin removal but even that is not terrible.
A lot of meds cause weight gain or loss and this helps for those who are dealing with any meds or any conditions that cause weight loss which in turn affects the face.
Not ALWAYS true for everyone, i lost 154lbs and I didn't have my face fall now loose skin. It is about genetics and the fact I'm a licensed paramedical esthetician as well so my shin has always been great. So some of us can have both our face and a$$

I have struggled with moonface due to Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and PCOS post menopause, and after over 30 pounds lost while taking semaglutide for over a year, I have not encountered “Ozempic Face”. Yes it’s not just because of the drug Ozenpic, it’s because of the rapid weight loss. You are gonna get loose skin if you loose a lot of weight regardless of how you did it, the more weight you loose the more saggy loose skin is left behind. I’ve just started Ozempic and at the end of my weight loss journey I’m planning to do a facelift( which I planned to do anyway even before, bcz of my age) So yeah , people shouldn’t be blaming the drug
Thank you for trying to give realistic advice and not just saying "don't do it then". I'm not gonna use Ozempic because I don't mess with heavy meds like that but I do want to lose weight the natural way and I struggle with either not eating anything or eating everything. So, as I get older, I might have problems with fast postpartum weightloss if I gain a lot during pregnancy. (Way too early to be concerned with that but I like planning ahead)
I’ve never taken ozempic, yet I have ozempic face! I lost three stone in the past ten months through my own hard work and determination and it’s happened to me. So I think regardless whether you use ozempic to lose weight or not, if you are older, you will likely look like you have 😢
For those passing judgement saying just don’t take it, please just keep it to yourself. There are those of us on Mounjaro for insulin resistance and not weight loss so we literally don’t have a choice. That medication has been life changing for me.
Honestly, I've never heard anyone even suggest that people shouldn't take these drugs for medical conditions. In fact I've usually heard people say that people who don't need them, leave them for those that do need them. There are many celebrities who were already thin taking them to get thinner.
I’m taking Ozempic because I’m a diabetic. I started on a low dose & my physician gradually increased me to the highest dose. I just want to control my blood sugar & lose some weight to be as healthy as possible & look like the best me I can. I know when you lose weight, you lose it everywhere. She is right though. You have to choose. My face will be the best I version of me as possible.
I’m 55 , been losing weight over last 5 years , down just under 50 pounds . During this 5 years I also hit menopause and no longer could pull off looking my early 40’s. It hit me hard , thinning hair and skin , the once beautiful smooth plump dewy complexion now drier thinning and not so even , the body changes, I grieved , and grieved hard but then I decided to love myself , that some women never make it to experience these beautiful Stars and Stripes of motherhood and their journey . I have really thought about checking out bioientical hormone therapy , to gain back some of my “oomph” just love yourself and don’t be so hard on yourself and don’t seek out quick fixes , instead seek out being present in life , learning and making meaningful and lasting lifestyle changes . 5 years ago my doctor would have had me on a minimum of 5 prescription drugs, but I was able to make changes that have my labs at peak performance and body functioning as it should .
My mom lost a lot of weight rapidly from a massive change in diet due to a health issue. Definitely shows in her face compared to before, since it all happened the year she turned 50 and hit menopause. My mom is still content with things because she's healthier than before she got sick because of it. But I know she'd prefer if sje could've lost the weight more slowly.
❤u Dr! Especially your no judgment…! Yes, people are gonna do it and I don't shame peoples are doing what they need to do or what's best for themselves. I just don't like when they're not using it when they are, but like everything also moderations the key going slow like you said! Always on point
Here in Australia, Ozempic is on PBS(Medicare) costs $40 (if Diabetic) or $7.40 (for pension or unemployed). But if you get it for weight loss, it’s not on the PBS & will cost, roughly $150. We also have another one called Saxenda, which costs around $380, same thing but you take it daily. Also all of ours can be delivered, like a subscription, so you don’t have to worry about it running out. You must cancel a month in advance, or it keeps coming. Out of curiosity it would be interesting to see the cost in America.
Oh, it is very expensive here in America. Between $1200 & $1400 a month without insurance! Sadly, some insurance companies refuse to pay for any weight loss drug . But they sure pay when someone has diabetes or a heart attack or any other obesity related disease. Makes sense huh? 😅
@@bdlimea7018 Wow, That’s a ridiculous amount of money, considering the cash exchange into Aussie $, the current exchange rate $1200 US$ is $789,71 Australian dollars, and we’re paying anywhere from $150-$350 max, depending on brand. And this is full price, if you have a medical condition, at its cheapest, it can be $7.50, for pensioners or people on Disability payments.
Rapid weight loss, all over causes skin to sag, and wrinkles to be seen. It's like taking a balloon, blowing it up to max capacity, waiting a few days, and then letting the air out. The longer the balloon sits with all that air, the more stretched out it becomes, and the more it sags and wrinkles when the air is released. Normally, as we age, we lose collagen (the stuff that keeps our skin stretchy), and our skin sags, and wrinkles. After so many years of extra weight putting pressure on our skin, stretching it out, when we lose the fat (pressure), our skin is like that balloon. Our skin will get shriveled up, like that deflated balloon, and our skin will become wrinkled and saggy. We were meant to gain weight later in life to protect our joints from popping out, and protect our bones from breaking. If people keep active, and eat healthy during their life, the easier it is to regulate weight. Plus, the more flexible you are as you get older, the less of a chance you have for gaining that much weight. Flexibility helps with joints and bones better than weight gain. Drastic weight loss or gain is harsh on our bodies. When you notice the extra five to ten pounds, do something immediately. Don't wait until you're 20 to 50 to 100 pounds overweight. It gets harder to maintain a healthy weight when your body is used to that much excessive fat.
Nah I’m going to judge ozempic users who aren’t so much as pre-diabetic. Love your advice and will be following through, I’m losing weight with diet, exercise and shadow work and my neck is doing something I don’t like

I’m 52 and a diabetic. I’ve been on Ozempic for about 6 weeks now. I started at 0.25 for 28 days and now I’m at 0.50. I can’t tell if I’ve lost any weight or not yet. The side effect I guess I have seen is that I’m nauseous a lot especially the day or two after I take the shot . Apparently this is normal and will go away once my body gets used to it. I was on Metformin for about 20 years and it just was not controlling my numbers anymore, where I had been always between 110-115 I was more like 190-200 and then drop to 36
These meds work differently from person to person. I'm type 2 Diabetic (14 years now) and I am 5'1, weighed 162 lbs last summer. I dieted, had a trainer for years, and the weight would not move, and my A1C stayed high, 6.7 to 7.5. Doc put me on Ozempic May 2023, and I had a breast reduction (5lbs + was removed). By Feb 2024, my A1C dropped to 5.7, and my weight dropped to 113 lbs without exercise. I was on the lowest dose 0.5. I maintain my weight by making healthy food choices, rollerskating, and doing Teakwondo with my 14 year old. Staying active is very important once the weight is gone and to maintain a healthy A1C. No side effects. I have a small frame, and 162 lbs was causing heart strain, knee and back pain, arthritis pain, migraines weekly, poor posture, and high cholesterol. I have friends and family that have had totally different results. Every body responds differently. I also had stroke symptoms in May 2023, Ozempic has lowered my cholesterol as well. Good luck to those that really need OZ.
It doesn’t sound like it’s related to the drug but genetics surrounding individual weight loss. And how it comes off. Some people as they age lose fat in their face first and look gaunt unfortunately.
Moderation! I took it, in a low does, for months and had NO such problem. Lost weight gradually. The problem is the ‘quick fix’ attitude, which Americans seem to have in these situations.
I have to take it for Lupus related insulin resistance. I just hit the 12 month mark and I’ve lost about 15 lbs. I’m not obese, but I’m still about 25lbs “overweight”. HOWEVER, weight loss isn’t mine or my PP’s goal, LIVING longer and saving my pancreas and Kidneys is the goal. There are other semi-glutides that are actually far more effective and are prescribed for weight loss. I don’t understand why people who need to lose weight for health reasons (and do not have insulin issues or high A1C) do not take these (ex: wegovy)
Speaking as a disabled person, having 10lbs of weight on you (130lbs instead of 120lbs for example) can cushion a fall and protect against broken bones. Talk to your doctor
You should be lifting weights if you want your bones in shape. Not gain 10 pounds you don’t need. If you get osteoarthritis it won’t matter if you weigh 240. You’re going to break. This is even more important for a disabled person. You don’t need a broken leg on top of everything else. HRT is even more important.
ّI had "ozempic face" from being on ADHD medications for a year. it was the hardest thing for a 24 year old to see how I aged 5 years in the last 2 years. I would look at my photos and just mourn my youth. I stopped the medication and even when I gained back the weight my face was still different, now I'm slowly starting to see it go back to how it used to be. I dont think it'll ever be 100% the same but I can at least recognise myself and easily relate to how I looked like before. don't lose hope but just have patience and compassion for yourself PS: I haven't done any tightening or face devices but now im considering gua sha to speed up the recovery
Intermittent fasting (16 hours) or a couple days of fasting can also trigger autophagy which can tighten skin. Since your body consumes proteins it doesn't need
@@wilchil5433 tighten skin. Autophagy consumes unneeded proteins, and loose skin is unneeded protein. So once your body is done clearing out all the old/junky proteins from your cells over time, it'll use up the proteins from the loose skin
@@wilchil5433 intermittent fasting can cause autophagy which tightens skin over time. When you deprive your body of food for at least 16 hours it starts to consume proteins from damaged cells or cell parts and recycle them. If you do this long enough your body will start to consume the protein from excess skin, leading to less skin surface area which ultimately leads to tighter skin.
@@wilchil5433 I definitely recommend it! I'm going more extreme, a zero calorie, no solids diet (currently at 10 days) because I've been trying to lose weight for years and it's been so hard. I drink electrolytes constantly and take tons of vitamins and minerals so I'm not getting malnutrition. And not only is the weight flying off, but all the healing processes that happen during fasting are making my skin GLOW. Years of sun damage and stretched skin from weight are just disappearing. Texture and fine lines are fading and my skin tone is evening out. It's like luxury skincare on crack, no lie. If people knew about this, I think dermatology would just exist to treat medical problems because there would be no more need for cosmetic treatments. I'm being very careful not to develop an ED, but the results with my skin are beyond anything I expected
Start doing face yoga, face yoga with a spoon and Gua Sha.. I’ve been doing it since I was late 30’s, I still get comments I look mid 30’s and I’m nearly 46.. I have just started Reta so I’m making sure I keep up my face yoga routine.. I was working with an R.N a few weeks ago who had the ozempic face and she was devastated, she told me she went and got fillers.. she hated them too.. so we all just have to be mindful that the face does have muscles that we need to work as well..
What about using peptides like BPC 157 or TB500 while on Ozempic?? They aid in tissue/vascular regrowth so they might help prevent some of the sagging face/skin…just a thought 🤓
If people would stop eating garbage processed foods they'd see the excess weight drop off like I did 30 years ago. Over 6 months I dropped 65 lbs without suffering for a moment and I've easily maintained my new weight ever since by eating only healthy unadulterated foods.
Same here - cut out the ultra-processed foods and added sugar when I hit menopause. I've maintained my weight and kept my 24-inch waist size by doing that - almost 55 and postmenopausal x6 years! ❤

I would think any weight loss (if enough weight is lost) is going to show up in the face regardless (my father could tell when my weight fluctuated by 5-7lbs by how my face/neck looked even if the rest of my attire was bulky and shapeless). But since exercising won’t make you loose weight as quickly as medication, it will probably not have as drastic a change to the face as the “ozembic-face” effect. Her recommendations for facial treatments would probably be good for anyone who loses weight by any means.
Everyone is different but realistically any amount of weight loss can potentially affect your face as well. That's just part of the risk when trying to lose weight.
I'm diabetic and Ozempic has saved me! My blood sugars were out of control and now they've been perfect for 6 months! I'm on a low dose and have lost 30 lbs in 4 months and have plateaued for 2 months. I am seeing the beginning of jowls and am very worried about that, though!
I’m so furious about the ozempic trend for just losing weight. I need it to live since I’m diabetic. I have to sometimes divide my dosages in half or 4th cause it’s so expensive in America. Most of these celebrities/rich can just afford other matters to lose weight like a personal trainer or better diets. It’s also annoying to me any doctors giving prescriptions out just causes. We have a shortage and yet I (who needs it to live) can’t access it.
I don't blame you one bit. I've heard about the shortage and the high prices. Last fall within three months I had annual checkups with my gynecologist, internist and cardiologist, and without me bringing it up all three of them suggested I should try Ozempic. The gynecologist said she was prescribing it for a lot of her patients and was pushing a compounded solution instead of the original. My immediate thought was that the pharmaceutical reps must really be pushing this to their doctors. I had no interest in it due to the costs and would rather follow a healthy diet for a slower, healthier way to lose weight.
I'm right there with you! I was on Trulicity and the pharmacy couldn't get it for 2 months. My dr changed it to Ozempic. I've been on it for 2 weeks now. I'm type 2 diabetic. It's hard on the people that need it to live because of people just taking it to lose weight.

Losing a good amount of weight without Ozempic has the same facial results that happen with Ozempic. You're losing fat, so your previously plump face will now sag and look less filled-in and older. Not everyone will look like this, but MANY people will, especially if they are middle-aged or older.
Exactly. Ozempic does not cause your face to sag. It's weight loss in general. Not the medication. People are so dense
It's not just fat. You lose muscle mass which makes you even more vunreble to regain weight .... but sure let's all jump on the thyroid cancer pharma for life drugs....

Correct!
I’ve been on Ozempic for a medical condition many years ago and unintentionally lost 100lbs in two years. I have such minor sagging in my face because the weight came off slowly and I was already doing all the right things, don’t crash diet or lose it fast because you’ll not look how you want!

And let’s not forget that there have been PLENTY of medications that were developed for one issue and then are recommended for something completely different as the drug’s “history and effects “ unfold! ‘Do not judge or you too shall be judged’….In other words, get over your self. The supply is improving and there is no need for further discussion
I love your channel! Not only is your skin radiant, but your personality is delightful!
Not ALWAYS true for everyone, i lost 154lbs and I didn't have my face fall now loose skin. It is about genetics and the fact I'm a licensed paramedical esthetician as well so my shin has always been great. So some of us can have both our face and a$$
Awww good for you 🎉❤
I’m T2D, prescribed Ozempic
A1c down to 5.7, all cholesterol numbers down, lost 70 pounds, my joints don’t ache, I can exercise, and the raging food noise is quieted. Helped me change my diet.
Very minor side effects, mainly a little fatigue on injection day.
I do enjoy the nuface microcurrent device I bought the portable kit I think and it does make a difference it also just feels nice and gives you an excuse to take time for self care
i’ve said this before if you notice the people who have the Ozempic face, it seems to be the older people who have lost way too much weight. The younger people who have taken it do not have that Ozempic face. I’m taking it. I’m older and I’ve stopped losing weight so that I can add more weight into my exercise routine build muscle you don’t need to be size you were in high school
IDK care about this topic, but man do I appreciate that you acknowledge people are going to do this, let's not judge, and here's how you can prevent this issue. Golden 👏
I have struggled with moonface due to Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and PCOS post menopause, and after over 30 pounds lost while taking semaglutide for over a year, I have not encountered “Ozempic Face”.
So your mileage may vary, depending upon what you are using semaglutide to treat. Both my face and my ass look fine, so far. I hope this is also reducing the visceral fat (especially in and around my liver, my blood glucose and ALT are back down to normal levels) and not just subcutaneous fat. #NAFLD #over50
That’s hilarious. Never heard that! I lost 70 lbs very quickly (no meds; just quit drinking) and my face bounced back but my butt-which was always a bubble (lol never had boobs, I had the butt) is completely deflated 😂 I have an old lady ass now. Now it makes sense 🤣
Guess, your great sense of humor didn’t change))
I'm about to go on a weight loss journey and hoping to lose the butt, not the face 😂
I did keto and dropped 30lbs fast..I can now see it in my face..mostly my neck and that depresses me greatly smh. I don't like it here 😫
Serieussss? Only with No alcohol????
My weight was OK until my anxiety got so bad I was drinking wine before I could leave the house.I put on so much weight ,esp In my stomach area as was so bloated.Alcohol is awful for putting on weight, and very quickly also
I am Type II diabetic in the UK, and my doctor has prescribed Ozempic for my health and basically to save my life in the long run. Prescription in the UK for diabetes basically means it is free at the pharmacy.
I lost 20 in 3 months not using Ozempic or Monjaro at 66. Not especially fast. My face looked so much better! If your face is very small like mine, it really doesn’t look so hot with the extra flesh. I have been on the Wylie Protocol for 20 years (HRT) I have used Retin A since my 20s and never tanned my face in the sun I brought a hand towel to the beach 🏖️ since I was 14, extremely rare for my generation. My face didn’t sag but I’m not a great representation of a 66 yr old woman.
Oh so you didn’t fry in the sun with the baby oil/iodine mixture like the rest of us?! You’re one smart lady!
Hear you!!! Lost 30 pounds in 3.5 months. My face shrunk & my neck is loose... I'm 46. Did it with diet only and dumbells & walking.
@@curiousobserver5332 good for you never stop. The older you get the more you notice the difference between you and others your age. (Better😀)
I'm on MJRO. 25lbs down but honestly weight is not falling off. Losing about 2lbs a week which is standard. And booty isn't going nowhere.. that's 100% dna 😂😂
How much do you weigh if you don’t mind me asking I wanna try to see if I can’t take ozempic or mjro or something to help me loose weight but maybe I’m too big to go on it?? I have no idea
@@sneaky_hannahyour current weight shouldn’t really impact whether you can take it - the question is your blood sugar and/or insulin response. I weigh 285 and don’t have diabetes, but I _could_ take Mounjaro or Ozempic or another injectable in that family because I have some insulin resistance due to PCOS. I don’t actually take it so I don’t know much more than that

@sneaky_hannah I'm 205. Hoping to lose 30 more pounds by fall. I'm also walking 5 times a week and doing IF mixed with OMAD. It's much easier now that my appetite is in check.
Yes it’s not just because of the drug Ozenpic, it’s because of the rapid weight loss. You are gonna get loose skin if you loose a lot of weight regardless of how you did it, the more weight you loose the more saggy loose skin is left behind.
I’ve just started Ozempic and at the end of my weight loss journey I’m planning to do a facelift( which I planned to do anyway even before, bcz of my age)
So yeah , people shouldn’t be blaming the drug
Make sure you your face-lift matches the rest of your body like butt and legs arms etc..... ❤
So I think regardless whether you use ozempic to lose weight or not, if you are older, you will likely look like you have 😢
GiGi is a flippin’ legend. Her heart and spirit will always be in those mountains that she loved so dearly.
For those passing judgement saying just don’t take it, please just keep it to yourself. There are those of us on Mounjaro for insulin resistance and not weight loss so we literally don’t have a choice. That medication has been life changing for me.
She is addressing weight loss in the video though.
We all age and it’s inevitable. It’s really sad how obsessed people are especially the younger generation with the fear of aging…
The face will start to even out. So don't worry.
$1200 in América!
I paued 350 for 6 months but stoppped becuase i was sooooo tired
@@bdlimea7018 Wow, That’s a ridiculous amount of money, considering the cash exchange into Aussie $, the current exchange rate $1200 US$ is $789,71 Australian dollars, and we’re paying anywhere from $150-$350 max, depending on brand. And this is full price, if you have a medical condition, at its cheapest, it can be $7.50, for pensioners or people on Disability payments.
fellow Australian here - I pay the $150.00 - if it was $1200 etc I wouldn't even be able to hold it LOL
This sound like its the case for anyone who loses weight, with or without ozempic...makes me worried for when I finally concur my extra weight 😅
Nah I’m going to judge ozempic users who aren’t so much as pre-diabetic. Love your advice and will be following through, I’m losing weight with diet, exercise and shadow work and my neck is doing something I don’t like
Well, judge away. . Who cares?
I was going to start Ozempic, but the people that I have seen up close who were on it, looked sick like they lost the weight from grieving. Then I found out it makes you stop pooping regularly and I just said forget it😅
Drinking at least 8 cups of water will quickly resolve any poop troubles. People take things and don't follow the advice given by their doctors.
Depends on the person. I have ibs and never went regularly UNTIL I started on ozempic for my type 2 diabetes.
I love your accent, knowledge with sense of humor, and confidence, you go Dr!💕
I'm extremely lucky that after having vsg surgery and losing 100 lbs, my face kept all the good fat and just got rid of the unnecessary parts like double chin
Then you are probably at a very young age like less than 29
I’m 52 and a diabetic. I was on Metformin for about 20 years and it just was not controlling my numbers anymore, where I had been always between 110-115 I was more like 190-200 and then drop to 36
Doc, do an eyeliner tutorial pleaseee
Right, it's perfect
Thank you for the advice. And would you say collagen is important to I mean a supplement?
Arses are in vogue so we should change that quote to: ‘it’s your face or your gut’! 😂
Haha that's what I was thinking about... Like nobody wants to lose their ass anymore 🤣
I guess I’m very fashionable then. 😂
Yes,🎯💯💯💯we want the booty, it's the fat gut you want to lose🙋♀️
True!
I agree. Love your videos. I love the shirt you have on ,sparkly & my favorite color. You are so beautiful. Thanks for the education.
She looks just like Lady Gaga. Beautiful!
Also, to prevent osteoporosis and malnutrition from dieting too much. The older one is, a little extra weight helps with longevity.
Thanks for sharing! Cannot wait for your summer layering combination video I’ll be there 😊
ّI had "ozempic face" from being on ADHD medications for a year. it was the hardest thing for a 24 year old to see how I aged 5 years in the last 2 years. I would look at my photos and just mourn my youth. I stopped the medication and even when I gained back the weight my face was still different, now I'm slowly starting to see it go back to how it used to be. I dont think it'll ever be 100% the same but I can at least recognise myself and easily relate to how I looked like before. don't lose hope but just have patience and compassion for yourself
PS: I haven't done any tightening or face devices but now im considering gua sha to speed up the recovery
Thank you for the positive guidance!!!!!
Intermittent fasting (16 hours) or a couple days of fasting can also trigger autophagy which can tighten skin. Since your body consumes proteins it doesn't need
So youre saying intermittent fasting is good to tighten skin ? Or loosen it ? I don’t understand
@@KB-gt6ep wow i gotta start fasting 😻
You’re awesome, Doc. Stay blessed. ❤
It happens even if you lose weight naturally. You can't do anything abt it. You can't go against aging
Start doing face yoga, face yoga with a spoon and Gua Sha.. I’ve been doing it since I was late 30’s, I still get comments I look mid 30’s and I’m nearly 46.. I have just started Reta so I’m making sure I keep up my face yoga routine.. I was working with an R.N a few weeks ago who had the ozempic face and she was devastated, she told me she went and got fillers.. she hated them too.. so we all just have to be mindful that the face does have muscles that we need to work as well..
i went through menopause at 46 and decided to go on keto at the same time. reeked havoc on my skin. this was back in 2019
What about using peptides like BPC 157 or TB500 while on Ozempic??
@rachelmcgill8143 Congratulations! Yes, I'm 63 yrs, 5'5" and stay between 114-118 lbs. I hit perimenopause at 39 and the hot flashes left me sleep deprived and unable to function properly. Dr., despite not using Ozempic, I'm interested in the microcurrent device you mentioned. Can you share the product/brand?
It is the most distressing thing. Fast or slow, I lose volume in my face. Absolutely micro current helps.
Well yes, because you are losing fat in your face ... She's talking about helping with our minimizing skin laxity after volume loss, volume loss itself literally is weight loss
Micro current realty only helps with lax or atrophied muscles and it must be kept up with. Ultrasound like Ulthera is better for tightening the actually skin tissues vs the muscles
Did you do at home micro current? I’m losing weight because I’m finally off meds that made me gain a bunch. But I’m really worried about not managing to bounce back to “old me” with weight loss alone.
@@Quirkneysame here. But I’ve read before microcurrent makes you look older because the device tightens the fat.
I wonder if high frequency wand helps. / red light therapy
Love the advice, but when are you dropping the eyeliner tutorial because omg it is perfection!
If you lose weight by exercise in mid 30s is that going to affect the face?
Bruh you're probably gonna look better, losing weight can make you look better. Not everything is a skin issue, just go slow
The key is going slowly I think. But health is always the most important thing!
Depends on how much and how fast.
