Princess Diana, the world's most photographed woman, was buried Saturday far out of the reach of even the longest telephoto lens, on the grounds of her childhood home.
Crowds had followed her almost to the last, lining up five-deep along the rural road leading to Althorp Park, the ancestral home of her family, the Spencers.
Hundreds of people flocked to the country lanes to witness the final few miles of Diana's final journey.
Her family decided bring the Princess back to her true `home'.
The Spencer's ancestral home in Althorp, two hours north of London, was where she developed the shy-but-warm charm that captivated the nation and the world.
    SOUNDBITE:
"Couldn't accept she's gone. I had to see it go past.
Q: What thoughts were going through your mind?
A: Sorrow -- and wished we'd told her before we'd loved her.

    SOUNDBITE:
    "Just couldn't believe she'd gone."

    SOUNDBITE:
"Just to be able to pay my final mark of respect to an incredible, special person -- an incredibly special lady."

    SOUNDBITE:
"I just think it was a way of being a part of everything that's been happening over the past few days really. I haven't been able to make it down to London and it's nice to be able to say we've been a part of it here and to say `goodbye' as James said and to make it a reality really."

    SOUNDBITE:
"It's really brought it home to me that it really happened because unless you experience this part of it, it's just like a bad dream, you know.

No royal in Britain has ever drew these numbers lining the streets for their funeral. Only Diana.

I can't thing of another funeral where everyone lined the streets and threw flowers at the royal hearse. The people held her in such high regard. That was so touching to me.

It’s inexplicable how her death affected people in such a painfully visceral way. Just breathtaking. I’ll never stop crying when I see moments from that tragic night and afterwards.

We ask governments in all countries to unite the bridge pillars as high as one or two meters so that if a car hits a bridge support, it can still slide not as badly as a car crashes into a bridge pillar so that an accident hitting a pillar like what happened to Princess Diana does not happen again, sorry and thank you

Clapping is a sign of respect in the uk. Also they are cheering (also a sign of respect) not laughing.
