I have rewired a couple of trailers, all operated in salt water and the best thing i found was to forget about screwing a grounding wire into the frame, if the harness does not come with a negative/grounding wire to each light, I make one up that way. So much more reliable.

Trailer wiring is the bane of my existence. I just recently re-did mine, and I spent an extra $25 on Amazon and bought a junction box and wired through that to hopefully provide some more longevity to our already ancient/aging towmaster. You don’t need a strainer cleaner. I suck it dry with a shop vac, disassemble or fill strainer directly in boat quickly with a 50/50 diluted muriatic acid solution for about 3 seconds (fast). Next, rinse with water *immediately* while throwing in some baking soda on and around it to neutralize any residual acid. It will be perfectly clear and it does harm the plastic or seals at all. I have done that every year now for over 20 years. (Perko strainers) Just a quick tip. It is inexpensive and immediate. I also sand blast them when they turn ugly green or when I get them new, you can spray them with canned shellac/clear-coat and they look great for years… (Only spray the bronze not strainer plastic or seals obviously)

anything commercial, base mark up, 300% plus, well it's not 1995, rough guess between 3 to 5' grand for that starter, BOSCHE, brand name, good product name. is just what it is, not knowing what Marine starter applications looks like, although I think I do. I worked on Volvo equipment earth moving, and road trucks off and on for years....... Bosche is been making product for all matter of motorized machinery, as far back when I was kid. I'm 75......MY MG had there name brand on my car,
parts switches, bulbs, name it. I'm all about OEM as long as it performs, it doesn't, I go on the search for what does. Some times, things just fall out of the market for no more reason other then, it just gets over looked. I never did work cats marine line though the dealership,
I ran the dyno and the hydro power train test bench. just saying, nothing ever came my way marine app.

OEM only. Back in the 70's when I was the service director of a Porsche store here in FL we would get folks that needed an engine rebuild for one reason or another. At that time 911 Piston/cyl liners were $125 each from Porsche. They were Mahle. A customer might question me on why he could go to the parts store and buy a Mahle Piston/Liner for that same 911 engine but it was only $85 or $95. Here is the answer. When Mahle makes that part, they make maybe 500 or more at a time, then they are all checked for spec's. Maybe 400 pass Porsche Quality control specs. Do you think Mahle scraps the ones that are out .005mm. Of course not, they go to that parts store in the same yellow and green box as the ones from my parts department. Now will the engine run with that cylinder of course it will but now comes the question of "how long?". We only used OEM period.
Still practice that on my Cummins Diesel Pusher motorhome. All fuel and oil filter are Cummins branded. All belts and any other parts used when we repair anything on that engine or GenSet are direcly from Cummins.
