To note that the A26 is the ‘Invader’, not the intruder which is a Grumman product designated the A6, it was a carrier born jet! My late friend had an A26.
The fact that someone built a Caproni Flying Boat that actually stays airborne is amazing. Equally amazing is that the only thing that brought it down was landing another airplane on top of it!
I think I’ve posted this before but I really like the flite fest content broken out into multiple videos. Such a big event and it’s cool to see more of it. 👍
I do feel bad for the A26 invader family, a beautiful machine that obviously took a lot of time and money to construct, however, I do think that when they saw the runway they would have decided not to display the aircraft in flight, that “runway” had crash fest written all over it, and the organisers should have either chosen a different location or postponed the festival, it isn’t hard to imagine what was going to happen, from the first view of the runway I knew carnage was not far behind.
It wouldn't be Flite Fest without Ben hitting a sign. So, if you put the signs back further, are you initiating a new challenge? I have faith Ben will still find it. 🤣 The A-26 was built using carbon fiber from Wind Catcher RC. She took the hit fairly well, all things considered. Looking forward to working with Ben to get her flying again when the time comes.
I love my micros, but man those big builds look like so much fun...I wonder if I could launch a micro plane off the wing of a big plane while the big plane was flying....hmmmm........
That's a lot of planes in the air at the same time,.. what's the theoretical limit for the number of unique radio links? Seems to far exceed the old select-a-crystal systems from when I last looked,.. is it a CDMA system?
I have a question for for anybody with knowledge of this, do the planes on their shop come with everything needed or would I need to buy the technology for it?
There are bundle deals that have everything you need in one package. Or the kit will mention what is required to complete it, which is all available in the store.
People were very respectful and tried not to damage the corn much. I’m guessing there was only about 10% crop loss and I think FliteTest reimburses them for it.

How do you deconflict the frequencies?
You don’t have to do anything at all. Modern 2.4ghz systems hop around and find a frequency that is open. I didn’t have a single signal loss.
Has anyone tried 3d printing one of these planes with tpu wings and tpu mixed in the fuselage for crash resistance
