Yes boys. The suicide line nearly made me stop my car in the middle of the road.
Prophet!
Praise be to the prophet
Wassup Prophet
Man like Denton
I did too. Literally ran off the road . Had to stop to deal with what he said
Streatham, screwface capital, black - All bangers from Daves album
Chip Woolner YES!!!!!!
Fr bro
Black and streathan are shit x
Screwface capital is a banger!!
@@ceirho4741 how cab you say Streatham ain't a banger u good?
Hi guys. So I have a theory about this song that you guys may have missed. i could be wrong here, but i think the song is structured on the 5 Stages of Grief (aka the Kubler-Ross model)
The song starts with
DENIAL, the whole beginning of the song he talks about how he doesnt need saving, and doesnt need healing.
ANGER, The tone turns aggressive as he starts talking about how he'll "put shots in your frame" for criticizing him, how his gang run the streets, and they are the ones putting pressure
BARGAINING, the song suddenly turns upbeat, and Dave starts to talk about the kind of life he wants and deserves, how he has earned it, and is in a way owed that life,
DEPRESSION, then comes the inevitable crash straight into depression, and the music follows that crash as well, and he starts to talk about all his insecurities.
ACCEPTANCE, right at the end where he comes to terms with his past and there is a small resolution, he seems to drop the facade and get real.
lemme know what you think. :)
P.S. great channel, keep up the good work
ay ik i’m two years late but sick theory bro!
Probably the best interpretation I have seen, I can totally see it now that you've said it. Dave's loss of his favourite brother (to prison), his grandma RIP and his father through deportation have left some serious pain, scars and grieving. Dave is highly emotionally intelligent so this theory makes complete sense. 👍
Wauwww yes sick mate
Wow! I think you’re spot on in your analysis - I’m revisiting this album and will listen to this track with a different perspective. Thank you.
Crazy late, but craziest interpretation I’ve seen of the song, so clever👊
Ya'll have to do 'black' off the album. Thats the best song on the album imo. I mean dave says "the blacker the berry the sweeter the juice the blacker the killer the sweeter the news" 🔥🔥🔥🔥
NUT
**DON DEMARCO**
*Sweeter the Noose
That song is in reference to Kendricks Blacker the berry on TPAB
You forgot "The kid dies" in the middle of that bar.
Andre Castello "the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice" is a saying that's been used for a while in hip hop I think Tupac said it first
I've been wating for this for my entire life I actually feel like it's been leading up to this 🤯😭
SAMEEEEEEEEE got so hyped when I saw it
Can y'all react more to kaan white lines
I beg somebody get these guys to react to Swiss - Daily Duppy.
Lol same here, I've never clicked a video so fast in my life, saw the thumbnail and I clicked the video, didnt even read the title.
Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally you been sleeping too long on Daves album 🔥
Could you please check out my music please? I'm really tryna make it as a rapper and get lost in Vegas to react to my work
@@IshanII Where are you from?
the whole psychodrama album is a masterpiece from start to finish. its a project.
Facts.
Amen
Dave: *speaks*
"I gotta stop it right here"
This has been long overdue my brothas. Dave is amazing fr. For his age his mind and perspective on life is advanced. Would love for you guys to react to Streatham and Leslie. Much love to you guys! 👊
Where the Daily Duppys at though...?
At this age
How would a man still hatin'
Watching your analysis of this is fascinating, the way you break down complex concepts quickly and in a way that’s easy to understand and still very entertaining is a gift
True hip hop heads!
Or they hve genius open? It’s the exact same ideas as genius ??
@@aidensandhu9093 why you gotta burst my bubble 😂
@xlukeJx it’s just a thought 😂 I love watching them but I think they use genius
@@aidensandhu9093 yeah I guess so, probably helps them catch some of the UK bars. They missed the noel Clarke kidulthood bar
Great deep dive guys! please do BLACK from this album at some point, I personally feel it's the best song on the album
Yous need to react to the whole album every song like this one 10/10 every song I think yous guys will be touched with the songs black and Lesley
Black is another dope track by Dave off the album. Shout out from SA 🇿🇦 #Freethinkers
PS: Still waiting on some Jay Z meet the parents for a throwback 😉🔥
Jordan Goldberg why would you want to watch someone react to something they’ve already listened to
@@drogon127 Oh You Must Be New Cat Around Here.
@@drogon127 You obviously don't know how many reviews they've done on tracks they've heard. Always dope to hear what other people have to think when breaking down the track. Plus Jay is Georges favorite rapper so would be dope to hear what he has to say about that Jay z classic.
Jordan Goldberg roger that
drogon127 it can be a review not a reaction
React to the whole album please!
its crazy that even after listening to dave's songs so much i still get chills when i rehear the bars
Yh same like when in this song the flow goes melancholic
He’s the goat
“Screwface Capital” if you do another one off the album
ForeverCalzone e That’s one of the weakest tracks on there, so many better songs
@@jeza8138 nah the word play in it is what they whould like not the story's in other songs
@@livaro000 i dunno man Streatham has bare more punchlines than screwface capita
"I dont need a me n u like when a chief would eat at his restaurant" this bar went over my head for long
Glad I see this one with lots of likes, one of my favourites off the album, kinda sad it didn't take off like many others because he doesn't do this track at his live shows.
That’s one of the weakest song on album
Shout out for doing this song u guys been killin it like always
Dave - BLACKBOX FREESTYLE! old but soooooooooo Good. If u reading and havent heard it yet. Go go go.
One of the best lines in the song, which not many people will catch (especially those not from England) is “I used to tell my teachers that nobody gets it. I don’t know Clarke but I know that I’m a kidult...”
“Gets”, as in Ghetts, the MC from London. “Know” sounds like Noel, the actor Noel Clarke started in a film called kidulthood (re: “kidult”). Ghetts’ real name is also Justin Clarke. Just crazy clever wordplay
"Lesley" is a masterpiece of a track. Totally stopped me in my tracks and choked me up.
My 19 birthday , was off his last album defo worth the reaction
Listen to dave - how i met my ex
YOU KNOW THIS
I love the way he switches to a more catchy, commercial style beat and flow, talking about girls and even makes the party/bacardi rhyme. Dave is too smart to make this rhyme without a deep meaning. Everything he says has a meaning. Here, the meaning is that he has to show that being deep isn't all it's about. He needs to be known so that people hear his message. Commercial success will get his other messages out there so it's a balancing act. for him.
"I could be the rapper with the message like you're hoping
But what's the point in me being the best if no one knows it?"
It's genius.
My currency is Kenyan.. in it for the long run..🔥🔥🔥
Dave’s wordplay is insane! He’s one of the best by far. Most songs are like this - even when u look back at something he did at 15/16 is crazy. Check out Jekyl & Hyde.
Guys such a good reaction! You really hit the same points I was thinking when I first heard this a while back! If you liked this song though, check out Dave - Streatham (cuz it’s a banger)
FINALLLLLYY!! You know the song was good when they have to apologize multiple times for pausing the music lmao. If you could react to his song Black as well, that would be sooo great. Would really love to hear y'all thoughts on that song
The ending of this track straight up just gave me the chills. Incredible track.
Just wanna say too that you guys really are awesome with these reactions. I learn something about the track when I watch you guys and I'm all about the bars. Keep going!
Dave is the Best UK Lyricist Hands Down, been waiting for this, please do some M Huncho or some more Dave❤️
@Anal Creampie yup correct low-key is also a better lyricist aswell, Dave is great but come on do your research first
Casper Lundsgaard my 19th birthday
U right guys, i Will rephrase. Dave is the best hitmaker with lyricism in UK, in my opinion
And I’m danish, so I appriciate both UK and US a lot
Anal Creampie I’d say you are right, but I don’t listen to wrench 32, mostly because I don’t like his music as a whole, however his amazing lyrics and bars are undeniably among the best I’ve ever heard
one of ryans best breakdowns of a song ya'll really know your shit man, respect.
for clarity streatham is kind of a hood and not. londons wierd simlar to new york, million pound house right next to "projects" or as we call them, estates.
Streatham wasnt that mad when I was in south. Brixton was the one which was on it. Croydon was the other one. Streatham had people on it but it wasnt the way Dave paints it back then.
@@ybone8709 ngl bro south is all mad. Certain areas more than others but everyones linked with everyone and literally everywhere is hot.
@@ybone8709 that entire area was on it tbh broc
@@TipTopVidz where you live boy. That there is lies or you mad paranoid.
@@wanderer10k in south. Obviously there are areas where its more hot. But because of they way everyone moves around it gets confusing you have people from gangs who live in a different area and then those two gangs start chilling with each other. The gangs aint tied to one area anymore its spread over everywhere
Your right knife crime is huge atm, a lot of people every day getting stabbed
As a Metalhead this is really great, Stay Open minded!
Always great reactions. You guys pick up on lines and ideas that 99% of the other reactions out there miss
Ever since Dave started producing music i’ve followed him closely. I’ve spend more hours listening to his songs rather then working. That says a lot btw, cuz I work almost 50 hours a week. Yet, these guys manage to find lyrical connections i’ve never even thought of. It’s really just amazing how they have optimized their talent👏🏻👏🏻 Keep it going man❤️
First listen as well 😂
When he says the line “I’m happy for a second then I’m sad again” I think it shows the set up of the song and he starts of sad then starts getting more upbeat and happy then very quickly he starts getting deep again like he was happy for a second then he gets sad again
You guys got Dave so well you need to see his black box freestyle he was 16 at the time you can see his pain... I loved this reaction 🙌🏾
Dave is just on another level. That entire album is a work of art.
Randomly found this vid after relistening to this song, you guys are really insightful one of the only reactions that add value... Much love
Not AOTY but a great album!!
This was well worth the wait. What a breakdown guys! You will LOVE “black” by Dave.. mind blowing and we can’t wait 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
I dont think any other youtube reactors dissected this track as good as u guys have done, looking forward to more dave reactions
i actually screamed of joy when i saw this. FINALLY THANK YOU!!!
The whole album is amazing, and blackbox freestyle is a must
If you want even more justification for doing an album reaction - listen to the song ‘Black’. Surely that song will be enough to get yall to check out the whole album
This sounds good to me as a metalhead, great breakdown guys. Thanks for the introduction to Dave 😎🤘
Need to listen to the whole albums it's incredible
Slowthai - T N Biscuits , guys in his own lane doing big things from the UK
They should react to the whole album. Aoty candidate
Inglorious too
Black. Question Time. Hangman. 3 completely different tracks which touch upon very important topics that are really relevant today. These need to be reacted too
Completely missed that "assault" line! I love how you two catch this stuff and bring it to the front! Keep it up!
Such a good breakdown thank you.
You boys will love 'Black' and 'Disaster' - two very different tunes but it shows Dave's variety.
Kind of late to the vid, but did anyone else get chills through that last verse/ beat change?
Great Reaction guys!
Next time you check Dave again try listening to "Black"
Love that you reacted to this! Please be sure to do Black, off the same album. Feel like you two will love breaking that track down!
Subscribed, love your lyric breakdowns and passion for the music. My favourite line which you didn’t mention is “I don’t know Clarke but I know that I’m a Kidult” in reference to Noel Clarke who directed the film Kidulthood. Also please do Black or Screwface Capital!
Skepta - Bullet from a gun please
Great Video guys! Black is another amazing song off that album! 🔥
listen to dave "black", "Streatham" and "hangman"
The one in the right really wants you to know he gets it 😂
Every time I think I'm just gunna skip the song because I don't know them. Thank God I don't because you guys got taste.
How can you possibly ever find new music if that’s your attitude?
FINALLY OMG
You should check out his songs 'Black' and 'Leslie'... Lots of depth.
P.S. there is a place in Streatham called Streatham Vale...
We want an album review 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Great Reaction !!!! React to J HUS - Daily Duppy
Finally! :D🇬🇧
Dave 'black' live at the Brits 🔥
Screwface Capital - Dave is a banger
we've been waiting on UK rap for ages Dave Streatham next please. honestly lots of parts of London are quite ghetto and they tend to beef with each other
Guys i would highly recommend checking out "Krept and konan fire in the booth part 2" 🔥🔥🔥, probably the best freestyle ive heard as far as wordplay and clever writing goes, it took me a couple of listens to catch all of the bars, there is some uk slang in there but im sure you guys would understand most of it.
Check out his OG blackbox freestyle from when he was 16 or something. It inspired the new song 'black'
React to "drama" from psychodrama
Bullet from a gun by Skepta, up next!
Guys you need to react to
Dave - Panic Attack (live from future festival)
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The two songs off the album that are pretty conscious are Black and Lesley.
Lesley gives me Brenda's got a baby vibes, Black is a great track but it's a topic covered quite comprehensively in US rap (although I think Dave does a very good job of touching on it himself).
I was expecting thiago silva 🤣🤣
Got to react to Streatham, Black, Screwface capital and Voices off that album. TOO HARD 🇬🇧
React to revenge of the dreamers 3!!!!!! ITS BEEN TOO LONG IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU GUYS TO REACT
I think you missed the Vogue (Top of the Range) bar - The Range Rover Vogue is the top of the Range Rover brand 👌🏾
So sick you guys finnaly did this one when you have the time react to dave hangman once its also a sick one
Skepta - Bullet From a Gun
Edit: I promise you gon' like it
Banger
Please do a reaction to Location and/or Streatham..This whole album is next level 🔥🔥
awesome_asain they won’t like location
George.... I swear to god if you don't listen to "Screwface Captial" I will fly from the UK to where ever y'all at and slap you in the face with his album!
Please do Black by Dave next
Omlllll finallyyyyy
I know it's not chronological but you should definitely check out Dave - Bl@ckbox - He is only 16 think it was pretty much his first freestyle, unbelievably good and he speaks about his earlier life and how his brother is locked up for murder.
Guns are illegal apart from certain situations (hunters/poshies), major stsbbing all over the uk brum an london probs worse. But guns are becomin more present in london, liverpool an brum
@Ben Hughes definitely got all the flint locks 😂
y'all should react to dave - hangman. if you like this you'll prolly like that too
Please react to Kano - trouble. He’s a UK OG and just dropped new music and the video is epic. 🙏🏻
Lesley is a masterpiece
Much older but react to Dave- Hangman
big up kenya....we in it for the long run
Y’all gotta react to Lucky Daye “Roll Some Mo.”
Yall Been sleeping on him. U need to listen to black, leslie, streatham and screwface capital
This was so fresh. a lot of people that react to Dave's music don't fully understand the real meaning behind his words and don't think about it in detail. You 2 took the real meaning of his lyrics and this song and it was so great to see people actually understand the song. Loved this video it was great, thanks guys keep it up:)
Much respect for your community requesting on dave and much respect for you more for listening to your audience advice
And listen to Dave and Headie one- 18HUNNA
Streatham is pronounced “stret-um”
This dude is a freaking genius. Incredibly talented and only 21 years old. WOW!!!
The blacksmith line is so damn fire
This is the first video I've watched from you guys and I subbed instantly. I really like how you dive into the deeper meanings of the lyrics and the way you analyse. 👍
