The 2007 Master Built EVH Frankenstein Replica
I have dreamt of owning this guitar since I was a kid! Rest In Peace King Edward! So... What should I play??!
-------------------
#EVH #VANHALEN #GUITAR
-------------------
PS. Did I fool anyone? The Eruption audio is actually me playing eruption!! Full video on my page!
I saw EVH play this live in 1984 in Evansville Indiana, I was 10 years old, Congrats on scoring this and play the crap out of it, Eddie wouldn't have it any other way.
Nailed the cover the best I’ve heard👍🏼
You still look 15
@@robc8936 Me too! March 31st 1984 in Madison Square Garden. I cant remember who opened? Not even positive that there was an opening band? But I wasn't 10....... I was 17 at that time. Getting ready to graduate H.S.. that coming June.
Great memories! Although I did like the Diver Down tour better. Only because I had better seats tho.
Can't get any closer than that! Holy Grail brother!!!
25k for a guitar and no signature required for delivery smh
Exactly what I was thinking. What the heck. Would you deliver a brand new suv and not get a signature. Same price value
Though the same thing and the packaging isn’t very discreet …
This guy probably delivers sub-one thousand dollar Guitars every day… Doesn’t care
Agreed
You guys were duped , this was just acting like Gary in World Police
Love your passion for EVH and his legacy! Glad to see this one went to a true hardcore fan. Enjoy bro!
Thanks man! I LOVE this guitar!!
Beautiful, totally respect pAssion I’m getting that guitar tattooed on my arm in August!
I was 13 in 1983 when I first started listening to Van Halen. A friend of mine came to me and said “Do you want to hear the best and baddest guitar solo ever?” I was like Sure! He put in a cassette and it was the first time I ever heard Eruption. Like everyone else, I was totally blown away and wondered how he made those sounds with a guitar.
Eddie is also the reason why I got into playing the guitar. He will forever be the best guitarist ever in my book. It’s been 8 months and Im still mourning over this loss. He was my hero.
To pay homage to Eddie, I ordered an EVH Frankie back in the middle of December which I should be getting at the end of June according to my Sweetwater rep. I ordered the correct reflectors for the back, I have a 1971 quarter, a #61071 aged neckplate and a German made Floyd Rose to install in it. I can’t wait to get it!
But dude…you have THE holy grail of guitars! This was a great review and you did it right. Congratulations to you!
There will never be another Eddie Van Halen. He brought so much to the guitar and music world. RIP King Edward. You are loved and missed by millions.
Hell yeah Scott! Keep rocking man!
I don’t even own a van halen guitar so if any of you are willing to send me one I live at 53 Castlemaine circuit Harrington Park New South Wales please 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
All I have to say is it’s nice to see a driven young man chasing his dreams and making them come true! Props man! Never stop chasing your dreams!
Never, ever, let it go. You're the only documenting this piece and you deserve this, this guitar means a lot more to real players than it does to collectors who just have the money to buy one. Keep it, play it. There's some true Ed VH spirit in your hands...
Hayden, I’m 55 years old and can totally relate to this video if I was in your shoes, I’ve been on a VH deep dive since he passed.........I got chills watching your excitement throughout the unboxing video. Your Eruptions was spot on, I’ll have to go see your channel and check it out. I stumbled onto this video and was totally moved. Take care and keep slamming, Eddie’s catalog will continue to inspire generation well into the future.
Wow thank you so much! Keep shreddin!!!
I would burst into tears if I opened that case
I did just watching this.
I teared up during this video too!!!
Oh but why? Only weak minded would weep for opening a case of guitar.. not being offensive but humans are too weak and emotional..
@@bewusstsein3527 hell yeah brother, you said it!
What? Why does this only have 400 views. Come on this is frickin awesome
I need to up my UA-cam game! I never post anything! Glad you dig it and I was able to share!
Oh and please share the performance videos when I release them! On FaceBook or whatever!
Because you watched this video after it was put up and you were the 400th viewers 🤪🤡
42k now
Because nobody is interested in paying 25k for a relic. May as just build your own. It’s still just a copy (not like it was hand signed or played by Ed). It’s a novelty…
I’m so glad that this guitar found its way to someone that will play it and not just display it. EVH would be happy. Instruments are meant to be played and used to create new music. Good on you!
I’m so happy for you man, as happy as if it were me receiving it! It was so great seeing your reaction. I imagined I’d feel the same way! Blessings and enjoy the heck out of it!
Heartfelt video bro. Thanks. Good to see someone really appreciate this masterpiece.
Thanks man I’ll never get to see one I’m loving it also!! Enjoy EVH the “KING”
Nice find. I remember seeing this guitar in the 70’s when Van Halen played Vancouver. There are few events you can point to where you can say “ right here my life changed” Watching Eddie that night was truly responsible for a major change of direction in my life.
Just found one of these, can’t wait to get it! I have started watching unboxing videos about it, thanks for easing my anticipation! 🤘
Thank you Hayden. Just amazing.
3 words that you never hear in this video are: "Crazy", "Insane" and "Wow"! 😂Just kidding, I probably heard those words more in this video than my entire life combined!😂 But, I get it. He was completely ecstatic about getting this guitar and I dont blame him. There are tons of people on here putting him down for dropping 25k on it. It's worth every penny to him. This was a longtime dream guitar of his and it was built while Eddie was still alive and he oversaw it's production. Lots of extra things with it that you can't buy elsewhere, I mean, that case is absolutely cool!!! Congrats my friend. Enjoy it despite the haters, its an absolutely beautifully done replica of a rock legend's iconic creation.
I'm very envious and happy for you! Take care of this rare jem.
So happy for you Hayden. If anyone deserves this guitar it’s you. Looking forward to hearing what you do with it. Plus it was so interesting- I had no idea how much he had “adjusted “ this to make it his own. Subscribed.
Thanks Morgan! Be well!
Thanks for the video man.
Pretty freaking cool!
Congratulations.
You got something really cool.
Love every scratch! and every second of this video!
Congratulations brother, your excitement is infectious!
Really enjoyed watching you unbox this! superb! emotional to watch!
I'm so envious brother. I'm happy for you man!
Thanks for a nice detailed look of the guitar! Man was that really 2007! time flies.
Just stumbled across your video. Dig it. You are exactly the person Eddie had this guitar made for imo. A guy that's going to play it and totally enjoy it. Your excitement and joy over owning/playing this beautiful guitar so translates through the video here. I can see the love in your eyes looking at it. Congrats man, I was lucky enough to see VH on their next to last show. I debated getting tix, but for once I made a good decision to go to that show. Great vid man. Enjoy the heck out of this guitar! Bravo!
Cheers Bruce!!
Very nice my friend i love your passion great to see young guys that love this kind of stuff and appreciate what Eddie did ,i picked up a frankie relic last Oct 2020 from sweet water and could not be happier, glad to see your dream came true of owning one enjoy my friend.
Play Mean Street! So glad this went to a Van Halen fan and guitar player. I think EVH would approve! As you said that guitar needs to be played! 🎸🎶
Congrats man! Can't wait to hear it.
Hell yeah! Gonna be epic!
wow. I can feel your excitement in this video. Im excited for you! dream come true for sure.
Thanks for sharing this video. .you seem overwhelmed and I feel very sure you will appreciate and cherish this piece of Eddie he left us ....thanks again. Congratulations
Im with ya, im freaking out just watching you open this and im a 64 year old guitar player that grew up with Eddie on the radio, you are a lucky man, enjoy.
Congratulations it is truly a real gem to have!
Oh man, I adore how you wait for the guitar like a kid. Such a rocker!!!
Happy for you bro! 🤘🤘
And I thought I was nuts about guitars!, Great video man!
Thanks for sharing. Glad to see the guitar will be played and I’m in agreement that Eddie would want it that way.
Long live King Edward!
So badass bro!!! So happy for ya! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
25,0000
Laughing my ass off 25,000 times.
Yeah me to it was made at fenders custom shop by no means are they the best in the world. All the best guitar luthiers usually work by themselves and build completely custom gear with crazy types of wood.
@@jimmyb4728 It was actually built by the Master Builders Shop in Custom Shop. Much different than the Custom Shop guitars. They are built I believe by one person on each build. and obviously go for a lot more $$ than a fender custom shop guitar.
@@HaydenMaringer I completely know that but that still doesn't even make them close to the best in the world. I get that their good but when you reach a certain point in your craftsmanship these are the guys that are recruited to restore classic guitars in the best shops in the world like Norms, or they go out on their own some of them have YT channels.
Ed Van Halen built the original. He himself was not a master luthier. Anyone wanting one would realize that. It was built with attention to detail on the original build. It was a reject body with a bolt-on neck. Most custom shop builders could do that easily - and more. The details are in the paint, reflectors, quarter etc. Setup/ play, done.
@@HaydenMaringer funny that all those master can fuck up so badly...
Excellent! Thanks for sharing!
This is a great video bro, keep it up dude 👍
Wow the video is really good BUT what's priceless is your emotions while holding and playing it awesome buddy.
you made my day seeing you open the Frankenstein I love Eddie van Halen that's why i play guitar god bless
We need a video of you playing this guitar. Congratulations I know im 2 years late! I just found you and you are incredible. Love Eddie!!
Man I was grinning from ear to ear watching you basically freak out over this guitar. Congrats man on ur acquisition! That guitar is a dream. How bout playing Ain't Talkn Bout Love. RIP EVH
I learned a lot about the history of the guitar - great details m8
congratulations.....thank you for the video
I'm waiting on my Dunable DE to arrive today. So I'm watching unboxing videos. hahahaha Happy for you man!
I'm gonna build a replica, but I still feel it might not be the same as getting something that Ed himself oversaw. I am a bit jealous, and I hope one day I get to see one of these replicas in person.
You can build a true replica yourself for a fraction of what this thing cost. They didn't even put the proper reflectors on the back.
@@adamhlava6970 Yeah, and I'm gonna make a true replica in a month or two. But I would love to have a guitar that Ed laid his eyes on. It's like the holy grail of guitars.
It's just wood, and wire. Do what Eddie did.
Congrats on the replica. I just cut to the chase with a nice Ibanez RG, which is the guitar EVH was trying to create in the first place. Glad you're going to play it.
I had a brief look through the comments and didn't see this and I may have my models wrong but if memory serves me that dvd/video is Ed playing Eruption on that actual guitar...he did that with each and every one of the guitars.
If that is the case…wow!!
Wow once I make millions I will have to buy one of these
I think you're right!
Great video. Thanks for giving us a close up look! Curious- any idea how much the EVH Frankenstein weighs?
Awesome Bro!! Glad to see you enjoying that AMAZING guitar!!
Mean street would be a great choice!! Congrats for an AMAZING find!!🤪🤘🤘🤘👏👏👏👊👊👊💯
Awesome video man.
Congratulations man. I envy you!
So awesome. I can't even imagine the feeling. Knowing how I felt when I got my Wolfgang standard after he passed, not even close to that bad boy. And I think you should play "House of Pain"
Congrats Brochacho!!! 7 months after the news, and I usually still choke up at least once a day. I decided to build my own frankenstrat, and have been forensically studying photos for six months!! gettin ready to start the painting process, Nervous as Hell!!!
I will post a video when i am done.
@@shannonmcdonald6959 Hell yeah! Send me it when you do!!
That is fantastic!
Awesome!! Would love to see more Eddie vids.
Wow! Just WOW!
Now that Lady’s and Gentlemen is what you call case candy!
Thing is sooo sick 🔥🔥
Hey man hope ya well
Never too late mate
So happy for you it’s cool to see you so happy over a very special moment
Just bought an EVH-Wolfgang special first
Electric guitar since a samick 30 years ago
Can’t play first lesson booked this Saturday and your video made me make that booking along with a bitta Ed along the way👍🏻
Take it easy mate
Happy Christmas rock on Van Halen and fucken toodles for Chris?🎸🎵❤️🤘🏻
very happy for you Hayden...you seem to appreciate what you have .....I have the $1,700 one that came out last year...ENJOY!!!!!
Nice! Im thinking of picking one up to compare them! Enjoy it!
Cool video. Thanks for sharing.
Great playing
LOL For 25K, that ax better channel Eddie's spirit for Q&A, perform its own Set Ups, & maintain all my amps-Forever! 😂😂😂
Such a beautiful guitar! Priceless treasure 🙂
I am happy for you, I would be just as happy as you are brother, enjoy!!
Great video: i was in college in the early 80s, and man ! oh man ! the VH sound was AWE-powered : i learned to play Spanish Fly and feel like a mini-god ! ! haha
Can hear your breath shorten with the excitement! LOL!!! Good for you...enjoy it!!!
It's a work of art, play the shit out of that thing, that is what he'd want you to do... We miss the KING!!!! Rest in Pease Ed!!!!
Congratulations!!! You are right. I absolutely believe he had those built so other people would play the shit outta them and be inspired!!
Thank you for sharing.
With love like yours, others, and I, Eddie lives on in his music and in our hearts. I can feel your joy.
Since his passing, I have been binging VH music all of this time. I don't know if it's that he is gone now, but somehow I have found a way to be even more awestruck by his talent and tear up when I see videos of his childlike grin as he effortlessly plays all his amazing music.
nice evh guitar report❤
Really happy you were able to get one. Special day for you. I would love to know at 25k or 35k or 60k, is it exponentially more amazing and playable than the $1900 replica that came out recently? Maybe my question is rhetorical. I would enjoy hearing you plug it in and play a few things just to see the overall tone and versatility. Enjoyed the video.
I look at it like this.. A non-EVH master built fender Strat will set you back 15k+. Its just the price of the hours or work into their craftsmanship and materials. The new replicas don't come close to this one. They are mass produced and imported with cheap parts. Still im sure play great! But this guitar is an extremely well built and playable instrument from one of the best master builders in the world. They spent hours and hours replicating every dent, etc. I mean.. when you look at the detail and work.. Its a lot. Im sure it plays better than Eds original and he has said it has!
Nice dude! I’m looking on getting the 2000$ one atm
I always wanted an exact replica of Randy Rhoads polka dot flying V. Congratulations on the arrival of Eds axe 😊
Beat it solo would be dope
It’s so epic that Eddie assumed that his band members would never know he stepped out on them to play on Michael’s session…
And he’s so humble about thinking it would not stand out.. instead it blew up to become one of his most famous moments in music history.
Outstanding!
You would literally think it was THE guitar! Absolutely VAN-tastic!!!
That's a true pieace of art
I’m your number #500 comment . Congrats on the EVH Replica guitar! Eddie’s sweet baby “Franky” What a Score my Brother! Cherish that one forever man! It is the shit I know, right down to the flesh from his fingers lol. The previous owner is a flake! Or it’s a damn good copy from china. Enjoy your score, it’s let’s say “A Beauty”peace Dana Everhart💫☮️
This is very cool and way beyond awesome! Gotta say I'm totally jealous. Got a question though: did you really pay 25K for it?
Totally.. Awesome.. very.. nice congrats man.. and by all means play the shit ..out if that thing ...! Love your studio to. ..
I graduated in 81 great time for music Eddie was the best and there was a lot of greats back then.
That's so cool! Play the hell out of that guitar!!
You'll like this little story. I saw Van Halen in Winnipeg Canada in 1979. During the show Eddie jumped off of a huge black box on the side of the stage that had to be at least 6' high. They were lunatics in those days. He must have tripped as he left the ground because he landed hard and flat on the stage face down on top of his guitar. The fall broke the neck of the guitar. That guitar hitting the stage while plugged into the arena volume amps was the loudest sound I have heard in my life to this day.
Someone wrote about that fall a few years later. I don't know exactly what's true or what the specific details are but they wrote that the huge fall and the break had something to do him starting the rebuild of that guitar that became "Frank". I don't know as I said if any of that is true but if so it was a special moment and thankfully no elbows, wrists or shoulders were damaged in that fall!!!!!
I Loved your version of Eruption on the video. You were so close to fooling me but I thought I heard a stereo signal or a doubling in there and my ear went.. hmmmm :-) but maybe that's on the original? I'm not the fan of Van Halen you are obviously but I definitely put in my time as a young man trying to learn to play like him ( no way that was happening haha ) . I think when he made that guitar he had someone like you in mind. Somebody who truly LOVES the music, loves the history, and plays, because it's all about the playing. Great video and thank you for sharing your seriously unique and amazing experience with this piece of music history. It was a privilege to see it.
Awesome guitar! What wood was the body made of?
Crazy!
We want to hear it.
Awesome. I'd like to hear you cover humans beings. Seen Twister when I was in 5th grade and always loved that song. And the film is great, still watch to this day
It's a 71 Denver mint quarter right? Wonder if they put all d mints or just whatever 71 they could find?
I finally watch the EVH 2007 limited edition unboxing! Until this day, I didn't know Frankie had a blue paint. I've seen many frankenstrat build on UA-cam, I guess they didn't bother put the blue paint 😀
Congrats. Mean Street would be awesome.
Fantastic
Never understood wanting someone else's stuff. Land of followers
where did you get that carpet, totaly love much this video
Was a gift from my awesome girlfriend!
thx a lot for sharin' this with us. Well made documentary. Unchained, Panama, Atomic Punk ... so many hits to choose from. Or maybe something from another band, like Pantera or ZZTop ... ? Vanhalenize it :-)
Damn! So cool!
That's a very nice axe to score after so many years lusting after it. If you hadn't been home, i could've been Hayden. I think after a certain value point, signature and ID should be required. 👍
