If he didn't bash Gibson in every f****** video maybe there wouldn't be a problem. You could say that there is great gear out there without bashing one company. Glenn's got a hard-on for Gibson he hates him. And honestly his opinions are totally f****** biased when it comes to Gibson. He's never given them a fair shot or a fair review at all

@TwoBassed agreed. I own a couple of Gibsons I got good deals on, but with currently pricing, I wouldn't touch a new one.
I'm on the lookout for more reasonable prices in a comparable quantity level. In fact, I think better quality for less might actually be attainable.

Great video once again, Glenn! Your work caters to the rock/metal audience, and I think many people could find your videos extremely useful. Would love to see your channel hit that 1 Million subs mark, because you and your team deserve it! Have you considered really pushing out the (lame and attention destroying) short form format? One of my favourite Devs, PirateSoftware, managed to bring lots of viewership in by releasing a sea of his clips. Like you, he has really great advice that he articulates in an easy to understand way. Not only that, but you have some funny bits that would really work great for it! Take Care!!

Glenn 😂 I laughed so hard at the try on haul comment! Btw regarding requests for clean tones I think it’s because metal does have beautiful clean tones like on master of puppets, battery, a tout le monde and that sort of stuff so people want to hear that as well.
I also value your thick skin, I take a lot from how you carry yourself, much respect.

I made sure to watch the whole thing since YT wanted to fuck around. Also, I really love your IR's and wanted to shout them out! I have the Archetype Rabea plugin with the left cab section side using your ENGL V30 -57 @-12 with room mixed in at-30, and the right side selection using the Neve mix IR also set to -12 mic, and -30 room mixed. Sounds unbelievable and I was already happy with a mix of default and your V30-57 comboed.
Oh, one thing I wanted to ask you Glen was about possibly checking out bass guitars that are cheaper like you have been with guitars? My wife has had interest in bass, but never took the dive to try it. I've considered getting a bass guitar to have for her to play whenever she wants to, and if I ever want to track with it I can do that instead of the monotony of programming midi bass. I've seen that the Harley Benton B-450 is ranked #9 in sales on Thomann, which is pretty crazy on it's own, and my wife like the look of the QTB model. So it seems like a win win at $169, but I'd really love to see you review a few basses for the 2 others that are interested in that. Thanks!

Hey Glenn! Been a fan of the show for a while now and I had a suggestion for a video idea. I have heard mixed opinions on whether or not locking tuners actually add tuning stability to your instrument or if they are solely for quicker string changes. I was wondering if there was a way to test this at all? Keep up the great work and I look forward to your future endeavors!

Saw this first time round, great review. You’ve become my go-to guy for honest reviews and advice.
Have you much experience with Baritone recording? I exclusively play them, record them and, while I’m happy with my guitar sound, there are some knock on effects that seem to affect my mix.
Our bassist has a Spector 5 string multiscale, that kicks arse, I have a home done, short scale bass conversion (30”) (tuned drop G) but the kick drum body is getting lost in the mix. I used more sub, but you yourself reviewed my mix, and slammed the lack of kick when it all came in. We don’t do Djenty rawr stuff. We basically write songs that happen to be detuned. It suits my vocal range to be there.
Any pointers would be gratefully received, thanks!

I've been following your channel for years and it never ceases to amaze me. Its content is realistic and humorous, a perfect combination of both. I'm particularly moved by the fact that so many of your co-workers were hurt, because i was injured too. Although this badly affected my playing, I never gave up, still playing my electric guitar. Keep facing obstacles with humor, sometimes it's all we can do. Sorry for my mediocre English, greetings from Brazil.

I don't think so. They are Duncan Design Active HB-105 pickups and I think they are OEM only.
I have a Schecter Demon 6 too (the older Crimson Red flame one) and I liked those pickups (but still changed them out).

Side note, the 6505 combo you recommended roughly a year ago has gone up in price quite significantly. With that in mind, is there another cheap equivalent? Should I get a 5150 Iconic combo, or should I stick with plugins on my laptop?

I don’t know why I don’t own a Schecter . I’ve held literally thousands of guitars bully guitars rarely felt right in my hands but every Schecter I’ve tried felt amazing. Well constructed ,finely finished and very easy to play.
I guess i need to put one on my wishlist for Christmas.
I recently got a Fernandes Revolver with a Sustainer. Thinking now I need to try a Schecter with a Sustainiac given how much fun that little gadget is. 🤙
I can’t recommend a Schecter enough. Especially their older models. Many were neck through, string through (which I prefer), looked beautiful, and played even better. They kind of embraced the evil/metal thing a little too much for me now, but they still have some genuinely gorgeous guitars. They just play and feel quality. You owe it to yourself to get one.
Hey Glenn, do you believe that active and passive pickups make a difference in sound? I know that you agree with position and pickup type (s, h, p-90, etc.) being significant factors, but I've yet to find a video of you addressing active vs. passive. I've heard that clarity/brightness is enhanced on actives at the expense of dynamics, whereas passives are more sensitive to nuance and warmer. Would be realllly cool if this ended up on a future video :)

Too many people sleep on Schecter. I bought a Devil Elite in the mid 2000’s for less than 500 dollars US, it has been an excellent guitar.
I was sleeping on Schecter myself. Long story short, I got a Schecter Demon 6 too (the older Crimson Red flame one) and I absolutely love that guitar.
Glen, I just wanted to say I appreciate your commentary on business practices and agree with you wholeheartedly.

Great video, Glenn, and a very important issue that strikes at the heart of something very wrong with our day and age. The problem is that it's impossible to know the rules when someone keeps moving the goalpost. The rules of the game change in the middle of the play, and you never know which play it's going to be or what rule. It's arbitrary and bad for society. I can accept that UA-cam has their sandbox and creators must work within it. But they treat creators like garbage with their utter opacity. This is a very wrongheaded way of doing business, and yet it strikes at what is wrong with the Silicon Valley mentality.
Glenn, ive got to say, if this hilarity is what comes when youtube take a vid down and we get it again, edited, im all for it. Had a right laugh at the new intro and never pictured you inna suit.
PS. Im not a metal guy but really loving the guitar playing!

I have a suggestion for a guitar review video. Tons of people around the internet are calling the PRS SE CE24 Standard the best value for a $500 guitar right now. Considering your obvious LOVE for all things PRS.... I'd love to see what you think of that guitar, after this awesome review of a guitar at the same price point! Would be fun to see your thoughts comparing the two.

Keep a needle nose pliers handy for those box staples - save and protect those fingers - also just twist them back out and the box is less torn up/more re-usable if into that sort of thing.
Dude!!! This is by far the best guitar video EVER. I'm 70 years old and a beginner. I've been watching videos and buying guitars and "gear" for about a month now. I've probably spent a grand total of an hour actually trying to learn to play! Yours is the first channel that isn't torture, and I thank you. I just subscribed and look forward to more. I've got my interest back....mostly because of your irreverent humor and attitude.

Seeing your guitar journey coming along is a real joy. Always good to see someone enjoying learning new riffs and just having fun with the guitar in general.

As for the Schecter... If I was actually looking for a new guitar, I'd be *all over* that.

Love My Schecter Demon had it 2 years...did have toggle switch go south a year later replaced it with switchcraft...works great

If youtube creators could find a way to form some sort of union. Because; I agree, youtube executives that run the discipline are pretty vague when it comes to applying the rules. I never had to deal with them but I heard a couple of major youtubers did (Rick Beato and 66Samus for example.) Keep up the great work Glenn!!

I have this guitar. It's awesome, however I had issues over time with the pickups and pickup switch. I swapped them out with EMG 57/66 TW pickups and this guitar is perfect (for me at least.).
I highly recommend it in your in the market for a solid 6 string
