u could tell that he was struggling on the back straight of that 400m and it was just strength, conditioning and maintenance that defeated him, as u say with more training in the 400m he could very well get close or even dip the 44s mark and with that 300m time he would be in a singular position of beating all the 4 sprint benchmarks, he is a hell of a runner and just getting better and better, other than training i think the main thing he needs is proper competition to run against as we saw when he dropped over 3/10ths of a second off his PB when he got that 19.50s 200m silver medal
Bit of history. August 1983 also saw Calvin Smith become the first athlete to run under 10 seconds (9.97) for the 100 m and under 20 seconds (19.99) for the 200 meters in the same evening in Zurich, Switzerland.

Take a closer look at his form and mechanics. There is no wasted motion. He doesn’t raise his knees like other runners. Instead, he focuses on driving his legs through all the way trailing behind him and then cycles back through with his feet kicking his but. No other athlete does that.
