Hi Pete. Have you thought of doing a comparison between the Monster and the 6000?
I haven't, but I know the monster will find much smaller gold than the 6000. The monster will easily find sub .01 gold that won't even register on the scales, I doubt the 6 would, the smallest I've found with the 6 is .03, but I'm sure it could go smaller, but not sub .01. The advantage with the 6000 is that you can prospect all ground types, and the monster will only do low mineralised ground, on mineralised ground it's unpleasant to use and will do your head in, but in saying that if you listen for the right sounds it is possible. It's a great little machine the monster and I do enjoy using it.

Thanks Steven, it's been a great place to find gold there and it still holds a lot more small stuff, the conglomerate is very interesting and also holds gold, just hard to get out.

The Monster is a great little machine, the ground around here is very mineralised and makes the monster hard to use, but on the right ground it's dynamite on the small gold, good fun machine, digging small gold never gets old.

Just goes to show every machine has it's place in the gold prospecting pecking order, the monster is a good little detector for smashing the small gold and the GPX for deeper bigger gold and for covering more area, including mineralised ground.

@@gardeneden5777 Hi, It will pick up any size nugget it passes over, they are a VFL detector that are very sensitive picking up very small gold, I know a guy who found a 17gram nugget and was told someone in Bendigo found a 2oz nugget, they are great but limited to quiet ground as they don't like mineralised / high iron ground.

Question I see a lot of GT vids uploaded on YT lately from all different people and was wondering what it’s like really like, all seem to find gold.
Are the tracks as busy as Bourke Street??, is it difficult to find ground that no one has been to for years??

There are a lot out these days, I was out this arvo and saw 2 others in the same area and thats on a Friday arvo.
If your watching Monster video's they will find more due to finding tiny tiny gold, theres more of it but the wieght takes a bit to add up, it is harder to find pulse induction gold (GP/ GPX) but it is out there, you just have to think outside the box a little as the Vic gold fields are very acccessible.
Some on YT only post video's that they find gold, not finding gold is a part of it and showing normal digs in the bush can be just as entertaining.
I could find monster gold every trip, I just like to mix it up and hit up new areas with the 4500, but it is harder to find.

Hey mate, that was a nice session! Seems like very mild ground, so just curious did you try the 4500 in Sens Extra by any chance?
Hey mate, the ground there is very mild and allows you to run the Monster in manual 9 - 10 allowing you to hear the slightest response. The GPX would have been running Sens Smooth I believe, I rarely change that setting as I find It works quite well. Thanks for watching.

Have you ever tried panning or running that red material through a sluice
I haven't, there has been no detectable gold in it but there maybe fine gold, I should get a sample and give it a run, I'll look at getting a sample soon and give it a run.

Good stuff, there a good machine on the right ground. That ground is low mineralised, therefor runs really well on manual 9, if the ground is hot, you'll want to throw the monster. Good luck when you get it and watch a lot of monster videos. Cheers

I wonder how a gpx 5000 on fine gold setting would go compared to the gpx 4500
I don't think any better, my mate has a 5000 and compared to the 4500 he dosn't find anything smaller than i would find and we have been using them together for years.

Probably pushing to find monster size pieces with a gpx , but my 5000 with a 12x8 evo gets tiny bits , as small as my old xt17000 on 32 khz with the 8" mono coil
The Evo coils go well, I got a .05 with the 14x9, thought that was good for a larger coil, I wonder if they made an Evo Sadie how it would go, it might be a bit too sensitive.
@@PetesGoldAdventures as i understand it the 12x8 is the evo equivalent of the sadie its a nice coil to use sensitive and pinpoints well .

which coil is this from the Gold monster 1000?
The coil I use is the 5 inch, I don't use the larger one and no one I know uses the larger coil, the GM 1000 comes with both as standard.

I run 3 to 5 bars on display.

Also out of both coils, do you preffer the smaller coil in this ground on the 1000?
Hi Nick, Kflat is a tough area, it's mostly hot ground. In that area hit up old timers diggings to start with they are less mineralised and go from there and look for one's with lots of quartz and lighter in colour, keep away from anything red.
Any natural surface ground won't be too good, it's trial and error, don't waste your time on noisey ground move around until it goes quiet.
I only use the small coil and everyone I know and are experienced use the small coil.
I always run in manual all metal mode, never auto. I normally run on manual 9 and only really back off to 8, it is possible to find ground and balance often by pressing and holding the top button down until it beeps.

Silly question will the monster find big nuggets
For sure, they do like low mineralised ground like pipe clay or quartz areas, but they have found good sized nuggets and are dynamite on small gold. They're a great started detector that will find gold. Just watch youtube videos on them to learn the sounds. Cheers Pete 👍
I'm from Brazil here they sell the gold monster 1000 but I don't know if it's original 🇧🇷🇧🇷
The Minelab Gold Monster 1000 will have a decal on the left side below the control box, it will have a serial number that you could check up on. There are authorised dealers in the the U.S and I guess in Brazil, but the GM 1000 is sold in camping and sports stores. Hope this helps.

Can the bigger coil of the monster get those tiny bits that gpx cant??
Not sure, I do know it's not as sensitive and harder to pin point. The small coil works really well in this situation and is finding the smallest of gold. I should do a test like I did with the GPX and see how they perform.

What is the balance that did the gold monster device
Hi, The GPX found .51g and the Monster found .28g.
It would have been quite possible the Monster would have found all the targets if I had used it first as the first .37g nugget wasn't to deep, the two detectors work as a good combo.

@@PetesGoldAdventures How do I adjust the sensitivity of the monster
I always prospect in all metal manual mode, so press the centre button so the icon shows the deep hole on the screen, I also run on 8-9, so count the bars on the left of the screen it should be inline with the little detector icon in the centre. Balance the monster by pressing and holding the centre button until it beeps and then bounce the monter up and down close to the ground, repeat that a couple of times in the area and then find some gold!.

Which is the best ?
Hey mate, They are two very different detectors, the Gold Monster 1000 is a VLF and is suited to low mineralised areas so they can be limited in where you can go, they cost around $1000 this is more a hobby detector that will find gold. The GPX4500 is a pulse induction, they will run just about any where and are much more versatile, this is a detector for the serious prospector and were $5700 in about 2007 when first released and they still sell them for around $4000. The only detector I would buy is a Minelab and that being the best one you can afford as it will give you the best chance at finding gold. Hope this helps.

If your ground is low in iron mineralisation the monster will work well and will find gold if it's there at a budget price. The gpx4500 through to the gpx6000 will work better and cover more ground but are expensive.
